Finally some visible lightbars (LEDs) in Europe!
finally? There are several countries in Europe where the emergency vehicles easily can keep up with american ones concerning the light setup. And that has started quite some years ago...
EnjoyFirefighting - International Emergency Response Videos Most videos you see here from Europe just have flashing strobes on the roof with a slow flashing pattern; effectively a very poor lighting set-up (like the VW police van roof bar on this video). LED roof lightbars have been standard in Australia for new police and ambulance vehicles from about 2005-on and fire vehicles about 2008-on. I'm still a big fan of the old Hella rotating beacons though.

well the thing is: in those European countries where you find the best light setups, there aren't many filmers like us. Thus, e.g. new swedish fire trucks often have up to 14 forward facing LED lights additionally to the LED lightsbar, and all together they have 60 LED lights on the truck. Also in Germany you can find emergency vehicles with 4 or even 6 grill lights, intersection lights and so on.
Check out this playlist, I put some videos of emergency vehicles with good light setups together from countries where it might be hard to foreigners to find these them: ruclips.net/p/PLiOP8q2-fjVE_lAoC2KhHqgMF5PnB6INc

Well concerning german Emergency Vehicles, the lighting setup is still very very poor! All police cars have only two leds or strobes on top and maybe two front grill lights, so i guess bobman has a point

he was talking about Europe - Germany is in Europe, but it's rather a small part. Whereas you find very good light setups in all over northern Europe and e.g. also in the Netherlannds and England, the ones in e.g. Italy indeed are very poor.
As for your example: even the german police cars are getting better: new ones are always equipped with LED lights, the ones with strobes are just old units. And some state police services also have units with e.g. a lightbar (with message boards and take-down lights integrated), 2 grill lights and a dash light. Some also have headlight flashers, vans also have a beacon light at the rear.
But anyway as I said: since most filmers of european emergency vehicles are probably found in Germany, you have many many videos from there, which might make it look like as if all of Europe is like that, but it isn't. In Sweden, where fire trucks easily have 60 led lights, you might find a hand full of filmers, that's it. Conerning the light setup, Germany isn't representative for Europe
C'est marrant dans bcp d'endroits en suisse la police a des couleurs d'ambulances
