About 300 bucks…. lol Nice to see a quick sniff of the truck again! I say we start a parts trade group for SCX24 parts only. Keep it up brother, you got me wasting my Monopoly money too, couldn’t resist another Cheat Code with the drop earlier this week…
That box is a treasure chest of mini crawler goodness. You're going to have great fun organizing all the extra parts into Plano tackle boxes! I can see some really cool builds coming down the pike - can't wait to see some of those on the rocks. Wifey asks "how much did you spend?" $300 - good answer!! Whenever my wife asks how much did I spend and immediately answer with 1/4 of what I actually spent.
Just a little tidbit on KST servos. They have a huge following in the discus launch glider community for their performance, size, and quality. I personally use their CM509MG in both my rigs and have a great time with it. CM509MG makes about 76oz on 2s for $30 compared to a reefs 99 which is 99oz for $60, both full metal gears/housings and 2bb.
I'm sitting here watching this and all I can think is you should open a hobby store brother between you and money pit you guys could stock a whole store with 24s you have so much passion about this stuff man I think it would do awesome and of you mix the RUclips with it I think you could really go somewhere with it man!!!
Try oven cleaner on the rainbow wheels, i’ve seen it used to remove anodizing. Never tried it myself but have seen others do it, maybe you could make a video on it
you got a couple of pork belly 24's there, the first one and idk the 4th one maybe. PB24 is an interesting chassis, based on the 1/10 chassis. Its supposed to flex as it goes over obstacles keeping it in contact with the ground. Oh those injora XhX wheels try cutting the h's out of them and they become much better trust me. And damn that was a pretty good haul!
That treal build with a meus front would be amazing. Would keep all the electronics below the top of the rails, 400-450grams 60/40 to 65/35 ratio. With a hardbody, 39mm shocks with rake and a suckdown or droop setup is nice. Adjust rear support for the hardbody weight but fun and capable. Ask the team guys if you need suggestions but pretty versatile with wide range of weight. Seen some up around 600gr. What not to do: use aluminum chassis braces. If they gave you the flex braces, use them. Cbolt and gladiator are popular for the comp crowd. C10/c10 is nice for shorty hardbody. Not a rule, just what we notice winning our local comps and info from the team. Good luck💯🐷🤙🏽E
I was showing my wife your insta bench pics last night to make her think that what I’m doing is okay by comparison and it worked a treat. Can’t wait to show her this too! Please keep normalizing these ‘investment strategies’ so I can soon live in a car full or tiny cars without a bunch of social judgement or child support judgements.
Great collection what a score (my poinion), i would have done the same, I especially like the first RES setup you showed, willing to let it go let me know!! hard to get all the good 24th scale stuff in Canada like mofo and the tourque servo's.
For real. Pb24 on super 8. One of our team guys built one at Proline by the fire and got all the setup tips from the 24 team and added some 10th style setup. Amazing! The injora 40mm big bore, no springs. Preload 80wt rear, 60wt droop front. Its cash money
Build comp rigs from very light weight too really heavy then 1 as mad as you can make it.. then complete a selection of rock lines and see what works and why completey out of your comfort zone of heavy bodies trucks. Not 1 body on them lol .. great deal by the way
For sure that is a hard part chassis with the Painted tires the other one is too bro I think you got your money's worth if you look at all the axles servos Motors Transmissions frames
KST servos are usually found on RC airplanes for ailerons and flaps/elevators. They are small and powerful usually. I have some mini ones that I bought for a 3D printed RC car that I made.
Random thought on budget: prior to moving/ Covid, I used to spend $20-30 a day having beers after work (at a bar) now I just buy 30 racks of Hamms for $15 ( lasts about a week) and work on/ play with my RC's after work.. or another of my 427 other hobbies 😂
Good shot you made. But soon your girl might get a little nervous because of all this stuff in the house (like my one after the little crawler wave swapped in and over all free spaces in our house)😂. Like the idea of "ruining performance with heavy bodies". I prefer the mix between scale looking and perforance over performance only. And your stile is cool!
My daughter loves those injora rainbow wheels. Just mounted up a set with injora clingons on her ascent 18 and they rock. Let me know if I can take those off your hands. Great score, looking forward to the content.
Heck yeah! Christmas already? That Prophet Designs rig looks capable... and a carrier bearing in the parts box.. nice! I have bought some on ebay, it's always cool to test them out as other people have theirs built, and it's a challenge making them perform better. Very cool, right on!
Dude you can build so many sick builds in your style with all those parts off the stupid (imo) buggy builds! Can't wait to see some builds come out of all this!!!
For sure that is a hard part chassis with the Painted tires the other one is too bro I think you got your money's worth if you look at all the axles servos Motors Transmissions frames J concept of old tires are very good also all J Concepts tires are great
In my country im the only person i know that has a crawler we dont hv any rc stores or anything like that n when i order stuff online it cost 3 times the price of the part to ship it here i already spent 500usd on my scx24 n half of it is still stock 😂 so that perchase would be heaven for me. Nice buy bro looking forward to seeing what u do with them.
@@jeremychin3076 Well, funny enough, we're in about the same price bracket of 2 to 3 times the US price. And we're right above them!! So cheers to our shared misery!!! :)
If it makes you happy, it's money well spent. What are your thoughts on the Furitek Unity 2in1 motor esc? I'm looking to build my first rig and want it to be a quiet glacier. Any info is appreciated.
Love the aesthetic of all of them. This is 100% my jam. I'm still kind of new. The detailed look at these really help from a learning perspective. Where do the double-bend links come from?
I'm with you on the price of some of these chassis as a whole. We are getting way, way out of hand with the prices of mini stuff in general, as you can build 1/10 stuff for basically the same, or in some cases, less. I'm a mini guy through and through, but it's getting a lot harder to justify the price to performance ratios we are seeing with some of these releases. Especially if you are outside of the US.
It was really interesting tto see you get all these comp style trucks after watching so many of your videos with a different style. I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing just didn't think you'd drop that kind of cash on something like that. Look forward to the content and adding your touch to the builds! oh and if you call the rainbow wheels, oil slick style, you get some cred back for using them, lol
Yeah that chassis is way too damn expensive they come in right after Mass and they seem more mass was price in his and you know he was the first you know what I mean like one of the first to do it and then they jumped over him and price and not just that but if you feel that chassis you better build it with a super short front end by Exo also they just had a ton of trouble out of their Super 8 shafts and ain't nobody can get ahold of them
I wonder (not only how you earn your money) - but how you find time for this, i have about 7 and a few boxes of parts i bought due to watching channels like yours and recently got really overwhelmed because building and tuning them starts to feel like work. Also i realized that even the "least" and cheapest like a printed warthog with stock axles and shocks and big tires is so crazy capable that i start to question why i invest so much money to build sth. that does only 5 % better.
I definitely have overwhelmed days, at that point I just take a break for a day or two and switch to another hobby... I think part of the fun for me is collecting everything and just looking at it. I only use probably 10% of what I have, some trucks haven't moved in months...
Short front end when it comes to the EXO chassis looks like he knew what the hell he was doing a lot of this stuff is set up pretty good but I don't understand why you would sell all that when none of it was even finished looks like he would start one and then buy another one and never finish
Some people enjoy more the building of them than using them.🤔 Unless he was half way through building and had a fight with his missus and she thought to AMF his RC collection when he went to work!.🤪😂
good fast call at $300, i know that game very well....🏁

Just leave em out in the sun for week. That usually washes out anodizing pretty quickly. And the patina afterwards is cooler.

The RES pork belly chassis is cool. Popular here in northern CA. I have one with a 3d printed body.
Wonder if he'll want to sell the PBs. They got potential
oh your hooked now
we're watching a new comp guy be born
the PB24 on portals looks like it rips!
love the style of this builder, great purchases

The injora cling on is a killer set of tires at least for my rocks 😎👍
Hardbody on those sounds perfect to me!
Man that's a lot of stuff. Whole lot of potential in most of those rigs.
I wonder if they aren't using that Ramp Crab steer link not for the roller ability, but just for throwing weight as far forward as possible?
