Precious! Such a simple, but profound, message to us all at this time of year. The moment when the child opens the door and sees the light is simply stunning. I will send this to everyone I know. Thank you and bless you for this wonderful film.
We were very well paid at the company I retired from. When people would get fed up - and you had to work 25 years to get your pension - they referred to their golden handcuffs. There is a cash and carry plan now so if people are dissatisfied or want something more, it's a much easier decision to leave.
Christ’s atonement is there for all to partake to free us of the bonds of sin and heartache etc just take the key the gift he’s given and do it walk away and don’t look back
I'm from Africa :Ethiopia🇪🇹.I really like and appreaciate your vidio God bless you🙏...now I am going to expand this idea to be more detailed to do on church for chirstmas program..please any suggestion everyone
Sure! But film is art and can be interpreted in ways to the individual. When I wrote the script, it was basically that the world presents all of these things that seemingly bring happiness and fulfillment. But it is all hollow and empty. The unknown, out the door, is true life and happiness. Honestly I'd like to make it a full feature film to dive deeper into the nuances.
Can I get permission to show this to our church tomorrow? I'm looking for short films for a couple of hours now, and this is the only one I really like.
This was a beautiful film. I have always wanted to make films but I can't decide what camera to start with. I know that there isn't a perfect camera but there are so many different choices. Do you have any recommendations? I am thinking about a DSLR. Thanks for any help you can give me. Keep up the awesome work!
Hey so sorry for the late reply! The best camera to start with is a smart phone. I have a whole course that teaches the entire process. Then I'd move onto a Gh4, Gh5, or an old Canon rebel.
Sharon Kaufmann > The short film is full of ambiguous symbols and imperfect metaphors that can be decoded by individuals who deeply cherish their chosen belief in a particular religious inculcation and indoctrination into specific dogma and doctrines. "The Gift" is not for individuals who think independently, use critical thinking skills and reasonable, rational, logical thinking, and use their natural, free mind for guidance without recourse to man-made dogmas.
It's a story about the world offering much, but it all results in unfulfillment. The true fulfillment, the true gift... Is on the unknown and requires giving up everything.
@@DeanneM1726 true. A metaphor isn't perfect, haha. The child represents the child like faith aspect. I guess you could say him choosing to use the key is like us choosing to accept Christ and live for Him fully.
@@pfcaleb I don't see it as "works", Caleb. I think that's a matter of the heart. When I got saved, Jesus offered the key of His forgiveness for my sin. It was up to me to receive it. That gift of forgiveness opened a whole new world to me! It opened my heart to great love I had never known before! Thank you for making this short film! I can't wait to meet you in glory!!!
I absolutely love your video. I believe so many more people need to see it. A very powerful and spirit filled message. Can I have your permission to use this before my church service to show my congregation?
I appreciate that very much! There is a licensed version on worship house media.com. but if budget is an issue, please feel free to use this RUclips version!
Some people have grown to love their chains, but the freedom that Jesus offers us is worth more than anything!
Merry Christmas and happy Jesus season!
This film shows that some metaphors don’t hit home no matter how heavy handed they are.
There’ definitely more to life than possessions, much as we like them. God😊 is calling. There is no greater treasure for you than Him!
in todays world, this is indeed very thought provoking...what we believe are the "best" things in life, are actually the worse.

Well thank you very much! That's exactly what I was trying to convey

THIS DESERVES MORE VIEWS !
I appreciate that!
Really and it was so beautiful
That was a very sad Christmas story I saw😢😢😢😢
Well Said.
And change can be great
Mhm, the symbolism of the chains that hold us captive. Damn chains!
And yet so often we willingly put the chains on day after day
@@calebpriceproductions2412 Haha fantastic - only 11 month for the answer :-) Cool dude! Have a nice day
This is beautiful. God bless you.
So true.. So touching.. Thank you!
Straight forward and amazing. 🙌💝
God bless you for making this wonderful video. I think it needs something to point to Jesus as the Light. 👍🏻Merry Christmas!
I appreciate it! It's a film that summarizes my personal walk with Jesus.
Darkness to light. Thank you.

Considering these times we live in,this is a very poignant story.
Very interesting and thought-provoking.
Wow and wow!!!
beautiful.
Thanks for this helped a lot I've shared it to a lot of people
I'm so glad you found it! Share with whomever you wish. More short films coming!
HE is THE GIFT
That was Great...!
Them being trapped in the house confused me. But I guess it's saying that an unsaved life traps you in one place and can't have true life there.
Yes! You nailed it. Life without Christ is the true prison.
@@pfcaleb 👍🙂
It's a life full of material comforts and false excuses that hold them (us) back from a real life in Christ. And a little child shall lead them...

La Inocencia de un niño. Su pureza.
El niño interior.....
Beautiful
This is so meaningful and touching.
😊👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌❤❤❤ I am so blessed! I love this!
My idea of what this represented might not be close. Could l get the true definition? Powerful either way.

Hi. Permission to use this wonderful video for our church presentation. Thank you and God bless
It’s a little heavy-handed (lol), but a timely message and powerful symbolism. Well done!
Nice little Christian parable.

can i host this video on my youtube channel by giving due credits to the original production house?
No that would create a copyright issue. You can direct people to the video though.
wow
🙏😇👍❤️
whats the meaning behind this christmas short film "the gift"?
The gift is free, but you have to chose to take it for your freedom.
Very appropiate. Today the chains would represent the anticovid measures.
What a poignant metaphor for Christians facing the prospect of leaving their comfort zone and joining reality.
Waah
Is it possible to use this film on Facebook as a sermon presentation.
Too heavy for me to understand. Or am I just too dense? 🤔😔

We need to make sure we don't see this as getting saved by works.
That's literally the message. You can't be saved by works or anything you physically do. It's a gift, but you must choose to receive the gift
Yes👍. it's just that he had to use the key so that is where it gets tricky by what I see.

a sort of siddhartha
What’s the point of this there is no mention of Jesus
It's a metaphor
Christ IS the light!
