Ukyo's life was marked by love and tragedy but at the same time, he's fighting with all his strength for only one purpose: reunited with his Kei-Dono when she goes into the afterlife.
Ukyo was my favorite character to play in the first Sam Sho, and you did a great job covering his story, like you usualy do. Thanks and keep up the good work! ^.^v
A sad but beautiful story. It would be cool if one day SNK made a SamSho game taking place in the Bakumatsu period in wich the SamSho characters would be reborn and participate in The Last Blade story. It'd be a good way to join the characters from both franchises.
What is the game depicted at the 2:15 mark (2 minutes, 15 seconds)? It has Ukyo and a few sprite characters wandering in a party-style, top-down, like a classic RPG/JRPG, not the 2D-fighter style I usually associate with SAMURAI SHODOWN. Is there a SS RPG with party-building and exploration (story development and questing) in it?
That's the samurai spirits rpg. A turn based rpg that retells the story of the first 2 games of the series. It was released in 1995 on neogeo cd, saturn and psx. Check out my history of samurai shodown documentary episode 3 where i talk in details about this title.
ukyo is NOT kojiro, he weilds a shikome-zue whereas kojiro used a nodachi which is a massive sword akin to zankuro. Tsubame gaeshi is his signature move though, slicing down and then immediately back upwards, which takes significant strength to do. Kojiro was likely a big dude, his nickname was "big rock" after all.
These Love Stories are usually soo Glorified to the point of being utter BS. A story of a Handsome well-mannered, selfless "Warrior" with eyes for "one woman" he chose not to have for being "not worthy" status wise, living a melancholy life and fighting evil to retrieve a Flower for the woman he loves, as he has nothing better to do as he has Tuberculosis. Then finds a cure, which happens to be "Only Enough" for One person, thus, being the Perfect and Selfless Gentleman Warrior, gives it to someone else.......
if he loved her so much why didn't live with her instead of wasting all this time looking for a flower !? then he gives it to her and leaves!! wtf ukyo!
I'm just wondering, ukyo had a tubercolosis & Kenshin himura from ruroni kenshin had the same, did the authors of this two characters get them from the same source? or it's just a theme from medieval japan? Just askin'...
Ukyo is my favorite character.
Ukyo's life was marked by love and tragedy but at the same time, he's fighting with all his strength for only one purpose: reunited with his Kei-Dono when she goes into the afterlife.
I love Ukyo's fighting style since my childhood, i even bought a similar sword. 😎
I remember making the same sword as a kid always like his style too cool
I think Ukyo is diganosed with tuberculosis and think that’s why he’s been coughing blood.
Ukyo has been my number one fighter since i first had the game on Sega Master System 2 in 1993 and now im playing Samurai Shodown 2019
Samurai shodown's kenshin himura.
Reminds me of the ending of Edward Scissorhands. Great video. 💜
You look like Ukyos love
@@liliencalvel6151 Really? Thank you Sweetness! 💜
Is actually a great Story for a Character, sad indeed but it show us how much of a badass Ukyo is
One of the coolest video game characters ever. Such style.
Hes similar to roruni kenshin
I agree very much. Love Ukyo@@Freestyleny
Ukyo has always been my favorite fighting game character. It's sad his ending was tragic, but his story was a beautiful one.
It's unfortunate that he can't shoot out his firebird anymore.
That intro gets me pumped EVERY TIME
Ukyo's Character is Solid and so Amazing I Miss Samurai Showdown❤️❤❤😊My Childhood❤️
Ukyo was my favorite character to play in the first Sam Sho, and you did a great job covering his story, like you usualy do. Thanks and keep up the good work! ^.^v
He was my favorite character in the game series, I didn't realize Ukyo's story was so tragic, I like Ukyo even more!

A sad but beautiful story.

Hibiki is now in samurai showdown

Damn I just loved playing my dude at age 8-12 didn't know it was so sad
Ukyo vs Battosai
Himura Battousai, right?
Ukyo is one of my favorite character. It makes me sad seeing him all ill and his story T_T
Ukyo's ending in Samurai Shodown II was a direct reference to Edward Scissorhands.
He always reminded me of Doc Holiday. I still to this day don't understand it.
He was a good man and a great warrior to the end
Nice hopefully snk see the passion and love you got for the franchise
I love you so much for making this, i love the way its presented.
Wow, this hit me waaay harder than I thought. Someone must have cut massive onions nearby… damn… *sniffles*

@@NeoGeoNow Cool. Thank you. (I may have to check that game out. I like RPGs better than competitive-fighters.)
From 0:28 to 0:38, where is this clip of Haohmaru vs Zankuro from????? I looked everywhere for it
Damn that was depressing.
Jubei Yagyu would be cool

8:12 Where is the clip Haohmaru vs. Zankuro comes from?

Best character imo
