I love all the spiritual perspectives that are being highlighted through this rap beef. Kendrick highlighted many of the teachings of The Bhagavad Gita in 616 in LA with expressing his moral dilemma of knowing his dharma is to fight and defend his family and legacy but also recognizing the negative karmic implications he’s sowing by going to war. Something his soul is still clearly wrestling with in Watch the Party Die. LaCrae sharing his two cents about what Christ would have done/has done. And Cole showing the world what that looks like in real time. This is the most conscious rap beef in music history and I’m here for it! 🔥
When ever you watch reactions and you don't watch that of Knox you will feel like you still don't understand the song so well. Thanks a lot @Knox for the work you are putting in to break those songs down much love from Africa.
J. Cole was *always* my pick. As a rapper, as a man. Just because he's peaceful, never meant that he was harmless. MY dude 🙏🏾. Thanks for the breakdown, Knox.
Brilliant song by J Cole! Pure poetry. 🔥. Love the bar “I learned long ago, you can’t please ‘em all, and it hurts trying”. Great vocal sample and the Dead Presidents piano sample. Great work Knox Hill breaking down the song - salute dude! 🫡 Keep up the great work! 😎👍🏾
What culture plz explain ? What is black culture ? Is something to b proud of ? The music we create is dope from Jazz, soul hip hop etc I hope u don’t mean the streets and poverty coz I don’t support that
Him and Drake have the exact same race of parents. White mom, black dad. Everyone been saying they weren’t black enough. Most of the beef wasn’t even lyrical. It was Drake isn’t black enough to be the biggest rapper. Same for Cole.
You DO help appreciate the art of rhythm and poetry! Thank you, Knox. I love the track (has the dope Cole "For Your Eyes Only" vintage feel that attracts me so much). And I loved your breakdown that helped me (non english-speaker) understand the beauty of it to the fullest.
I feel like the general narrative from this song is all positive and like Cole knew a lot of things we didn’t really acknowledge as fans initially; can’t wait for The Fall Off
23:58 couldn't help but draw parallels between this bar and Kendrick's line from Euphoria, "I hate when a rapper talk about guns, then somebody die they turn into nuns". Two goats talking their real talk from their unique perspectives. Cole is insane to have packed so many doubles in this track, forever a legend in my books!
drake also said “the city gets stronger when everybody is speaking not when everybody out here beefin’ ” in Lose You. i think drake also understands the effects of rap beefs but i wonder where that all went during the most recent beef with kendrick. guess it was his ego
@@matthewolemaliterally… in a sense i think that kendrick, drake, and jermaine truly show the three sides of black culture… kendrick is those who truly get it… they pulled that trigger… they walked that life… jermaine is those who truly got both worlds… he got the struggle… saw the guns but also got privileges that most of us never got… and drake is more the side of privilege… he never truly had to walk that life but learned about it through meeting people and seeing it… drake couldnt keep up with kendrick who truly pushed his character bc kendrick knew drake didnt live the game he spread… i think thats why we noticed such changes in drake during the beef
Cole just a real ass dude! Says his friendships are more important than stupid rap beefs that makes enemies!. Takes a real one to stay in the middle not picking a side with 2 friends. Still has his spot, what a MC!

And Cole showing the world what that looks like in real time. This is the most conscious rap beef in music history and I’m here for it! 🔥
"There's opportunity when living with loss"
Dope reaction Knox. Your break down knacx. 🔥
Idk how many Times I've been checking out for Knox's reaction 😩😩
When ever you watch reactions and you don't watch that of Knox you will feel like you still don't understand the song so well.
Thanks a lot @Knox for the work you are putting in to break those songs down much love from Africa.
Was waiting all night for this breakdown
I love the fact that Cole still credits Drake with helping him a lot which he's done for a lot of artists including Kendrick.
Keep up the great work! 😎👍🏾
It's not because he's light skinned. No one questions J Cole's culture.
he is and been culture
So True! Neverr have we ever…
What culture plz explain ? What is black culture ? Is something to b proud of ? The music we create is dope from Jazz, soul hip hop etc I hope u don’t mean the streets and poverty coz I don’t support that
@@BharaDaFundraiser ahh put a sock in it
Him and Drake have the exact same race of parents. White mom, black dad. Everyone been saying they weren’t black enough. Most of the beef wasn’t even lyrical. It was Drake isn’t black enough to be the biggest rapper. Same for Cole.
I love your break downs, thank you for the time and energy you put into this, much love and respect to you and your music!
09:39 aw man that was a powerful point you were making nice job finding it and props to J Cole for them bars
I subscribed because I had no idea what the song was about.
Your break down was immense ❤
Your the greatest in your field Knox... your amazing
Your breakdown was just masterpeacefull
I WAITED FOR THIS REACTION
underated bro! keep continuing cause ur the only one to explain me jcole verses when im bad at english!
Finally.. been waiting on this 🔥🔥
You DO help appreciate the art of rhythm and poetry! Thank you, Knox.
I love the track (has the dope Cole "For Your Eyes Only" vintage feel that attracts me so much). And I loved your breakdown that helped me (non english-speaker) understand the beauty of it to the fullest.
Pretty relatable content in this song, hope it reaches all the right people! Music is life man!
Always the best breakdown! Layers upon layers
I said and i called it, j cole is just a breath of fresh air. Knox hill major shouts outs on your post mortem of this track
I feel like the general narrative from this song is all positive and like Cole knew a lot of things we didn’t really acknowledge as fans initially; can’t wait for The Fall
Off
23:58 couldn't help but draw parallels between this bar and Kendrick's line from Euphoria, "I hate when a rapper talk about guns, then somebody die they turn into nuns".
@@iziahdavis3561 makes complete sense actually. i agree with your take
Cole just a real ass dude!
Says his friendships are more important than stupid rap beefs that makes enemies!.
Takes a real one to stay in the middle not picking a side with 2 friends.
Still has his spot, what a MC!
The music video in the intro is looking fire
Was waiting for his since i wake up and saw Cole dropped!! Cole realy perfected his pen since his debut.
Don’t care what anyone says. Hop on a song with j Cole and you need to be in your prime. It’s always been about healthy competition. Remember the last time it was taken seriously two legends died( RIP Tupac and biggie).
The goat I was waiting for this my guy 🤝🏾
Yo Knox, Love the way you break it down I think you are one of the best, keep it up you really putting it Down
Beautiful track wow. This actually blew my mind.
