Well sorta. Audrina went through the idiot phase a lot longer than Jessica (I don't really know but I'm going by how long the shows are). Plus..Jessica was younger. I give Jessica a pass. I hate that Jessica was that way but I'm giving her a pass at that age.

Kristin is a good friend to Jessica. She can be catty, but I thought she said all of the right things when Jessica was crying after she and Jason officially broke up. When I experienced my first breakup my friends hadn't gone through one before so they didn't really know what to say
thought she was gonna bust out some popcorn there for a minute though. lol.
My opinions of Kristin have changed drastically over the years I’ve watched this show lol but that’s always the one scene where I think she was actually really great.
Just wait until two episodes from now when she kisses the guy Jessica says she likes lol. On a less sour note, I do agree that she was great at supporting Jessica in this ep.
Yeah, Kristin is such a good friend that she tells Jessica she deserves better & needs to move on but then makes out with the first guy Jessica starts liking after Jason. That was beyond messed up. 🤦🏽♀️

I don’t think Lo enjoyed being on tv very much. She wanted the paycheck which I totally understand but it’s tough being in front of the entire country. People still talk shit about her to this day and I can only imagine how hard that can be.

Anyone else enjoying this way more than The Hills? This hits in that super sweet spot of nostalgia for me, since I was in high school when this was on. And their "previously on LB" impressions kill me haha. ALSO, it's super nice not to have to sit through any boring/annoying Speidi plot!!!

Lauren was and always is so beautiful to me ! She was literally my role model growing up, and even though there are some moments with her that I don't agree with , I actually find she was one of the nicest girls on the show she really never said purely hateful comments about people and I think that's why they picked her for the hills !
I agree. I think she came across like that which is why I liked her as well but of course we don’t know her personally but it’s how she was edited at least. Timmy seems to not really like Lauren for some reason. There’s probably some “tea” we don’t know. I could be wrong, but it comes across like he doesn’t or feels confused why LC was a fan favorite back then.

@@eg5171 What? LC wanted to be a designer her whole life, went to fashion schools, and did the hills to be a designer. So it didn't come out of nowhere to compete with Whitney. Whitney's clothes were extremely expensive for her demographic at the time in her OG line and she herself explicitly has said that she wishes she did a licensing deal like Lauren did with Kohl's.
I really like when you guys explain what the producers are trying to do and talk about how edited certain scenes are. Also Timmy always looks in pain when ever Stephen is on the screen talking lmaoo
Jessica admitted that she was not on the phone with Jason for the breakup scene. She was on the phone with a producer to reenact their breakup for the show.

How do fans know the dirt? Laguna Beach aired back when fan websites and fan clubs and fan forums were a big thing. The level of dirt digging on celebs you were obsessed with was next level. Perez Hilton was also a big reporter of the dirt those days and he reported via "sources" who were usually cast members themselves.
Yup! I remember the Laguna Beach tea that a Season 4 WAS filmed but canceled due to lack of storyline. They said Tessa moved to San Clemente, Breanna/Rocky back to BFFs, Cami/Kyndra redeemed themselves, etc. So it allegedly lacked the drama they wanted.
There’s also interviews with them from years later posted on RUclips. I’ve even seen an interview with Kristin’s friend Alex posted within the past year and she talked about the show Laguna Beach a little.

I have to say, I knew more BTS about The Hills than Laguna. So these tidbits about Taylor being drunk is new info for me too! I guess that's why LB is more fun to watch as an adult because I get to just be a viewer.

Stephen keeps Lauren close because he likes/needs her attention and devotion (which is understandable, it feels good to have someone around who has a huge crush on you). I think Lauren knows this but everytime he does the LITTLEST thing (aka show up with flowers&chocolate) she's like ok let me buy into this fantasy for a few moments because it feels so good. I've been on both sides of this story and it is ROUGH either way.

@@v.0624 I agree, but he was a teenager and might've not known he could've said no. I feel bad for both her and Kristin. I'm listening to Kristin and Stephen's podcast and a lot of their fights were due to these scenes that the producers created. A lot of the scenes were also fake.

Eating out of a tinfoil dinner on a plate” comment with $100 dollars in candles and mom upstairs had me dying and the cringe 🤣 I just want to say the confusion brought by how choppy the editing/scenes are is justified at least now you can piece things together based on interviews but back in the day when this was rolling it was sometimes hard to follow, so I understand the struggle. On a side note, I love Whitney’s skin it always looks amazing, I know you guys were talking about how dry it was there but her skin always looks flawless. Timmy is a rockstar on the guitar 🎸 lol

Yeah, Steven and Lauren were fwb for awhile. It wasn't on the show and based on what plays out, it seemed like a continuation of Lauren wanting more but settling for less.

I think Kristin plays up Stephen being into her to her friends cause she wants to be the cool unattached girl. I don't think she's in love with Stephen but she definitely finds a comfort in it and is jealous of him dating and hooking up with lauren. He isn't as into her as she makes out but that wouldn't make her cool.

Idk man, Jessica clearly needs to be more true to herself here. It’s insane watching how toxic this is to be showing on tv as normal… I thought stuff like this in relationships was normal for so long.
Same. I realize now how I looked at this show as kind of a manual of how to handle different scenarios in life. My young mind saw these kids as inspiration and as people who knew way more about love and relationships than what I did at that time. It's kind of scary to realize, cause *now* it's obvious that they have no clue either. And although this is entertaining af, at the same time I can't deny that me trying to emulate these lives impacted my life as well, and not exactly in a good way 😕
