Just found your channel. And very pleased that I have. You have a gorgeous home and I love how you’ve furnished and decorated. It’s just how I like to see a home. And everything is so tasteful. You have a good eye for interior design. I have subscribed, and I’m looking forward to watching all your videos. Thank you from England. 😊
If your tapered candle is too wide, you can use a candle 'sharpener', (similar to a large pencil sharpener), to narrow the base circumference. If the candle is too narrow, you could use tacky wax to steady and secure the candle in the candle stick holder.
Try using Dawn Ultra and some baking soda mixed, that is the only thing that worked on my couch. It did take some elbow grease but finally I think I can live with it now. You got some great thrifted finds and did a lovely job decorating.
Try giving your copper teapot a good clean with Bar Keepers Friend in the cream liquid form. It is safe for all types of metals and I'm sure you would see it remove all the old deposits. It will not harm your copper teapot.
@@MegantheWildonly thing is, that sticky stuff on your teapot was the the remnants of what was a non-varnish coating to keep it shiny. Unfortunately the stronger cleaner a previous owner used pretty much ruined your brass’ shine factor. But it is worth a try if you can’t find a gentle cleaner. Good luck!
In a spray bottle try 2 cups warm water, 1/2 cup white vinegar, tsp Mr Clean, tsp salt and drop of Dawn detergent, shake it up and spray, rub it in and leave it 15 minutes.....I've cleaned area rugs with it and it worked.....the salt helps to lighten up the dirty dingey spots.
Do you go thrift shopping every season for new items? If so, what do you do with all the unused stuff collected over the years? Donate? Store? Rotate pieces in and out? This is my dilemma. Thanks!
I shop at thrift stores throughout the year because I never know what I'll find. At this point, I'm pretty selective about what I bring home. I tend to hold on to things, but I switch items out seasonally, so every few months, I rotate items in my home. It helps old things feel new, so I don't feel the need to buy as much stuff. If I don't need an item anymore, I will resell, gift it to someone, donate it to a thrift store, or upcycle it. Thanks for watching, Sharon!
@@MegantheWild yes, I did it just a slight shade darker and followed a tutorial, you have to wet the material first otherwise the paint sits on top of the fabric, the water sucks it in. I did 2 coats and it looks great, no more stains ✨
If you decide to paint, buy a fabric paint medium. I’ve seen it done on another RUclips channel. Michael’s has it and probably Amazon. (I know you’re not close to a Hobby Lobby.) But if you try to clean, I’ve had success with Dawn Power Wash and baking soda. Oxi Clean for stains is great and there’s a product called Folex that says it’s for carpet, but works on furniture and upholstery. Good luck!
I too love it when I find pine scented candles at the thrift stores! The stains on your chair could be from the padding deteriorating. It happens when foam padding gets old or moisture from being in storage.
Our time is coming! So many pine scented candles will be at the thrift store in the next few months. 🙂 I didn’t think about the stuffing, that could be it. I was thinking of replacing the stuffing anyway. Thanks for the info!
You mean the temp at which essential oils catch fire? So far, I’ve just been recycling the remains of old candles and not mixing my own oils into the wax.
Your apartment looks great! Have you tried some peroxide on that chair? I've found it to be a miracle cleaner on tough stains. Sometimes you'll have to apply it several times.
I've had really good luck with Dawn Powerwash for removing stains.
I've been working on it, and I'll share the final result next week. 🙂 Thanks for the tip!
Murphy oil soap…. Love it!! Takes stains out of all my stuff and also removes paint.
I hadn’t heard about murphys for stain removal. Thanks for the tip!

I’m glad you found me. Thank you so much for watching, for subscribing, and for your kind words! 🥰
I LOVE the etched brass candlesticks. They're elegant and rustic at the same time.
You could always get some Rit dye and color those to be a little more of the color you wanted

That’s smart, thank you. I just whittled my candle down with a knife like a little cave woman 😳
Museum Wax works great for securing thin candles into wide holders.
Thank you, I’ll look into that!
Try Folex in your chair. It is my go to for stains.
Thank you!

Thanks for the tip, I bought some Dawn the other day so I can try it 🙂 Thank the compliments and for watching!
I’m looking at all the copper in your thrift store..wow. 😊
Nice video ! I love your pup ❤ I’m happy to see you buy stuff that you like and not worry about the prices 😊
Thank you, Anita! ☺

Try putting white vinegar in the kettle and let it sit and do its magic, then add water and boil. 9:21
Thanks for the tip! 😁
I think that last little box was made in Sorento, Italy. I bought a similar one there.
Really? That’s cool! I just watched “Wednesday” and I swear she used one just like it as a prop.

ok, I'll try that. Thanks, Angela!
For the chair, have you tried dawn, white vinegar & oxy clean? Soft bristle brush gently
I tried Oxy, but I didn't leave it on very long. I'll add your method to my list of things to try. Thank you!
That store is full of merchandise. Where is the location? The ones I go in my hometown are empty and if they have something on the shelves is trash 😒
Waterbury, CT. Happy hunting, friend!
@@MegantheWildis that near Berlin, CT? I just recently found a channel called Worthington Home which I really enjoy.
Wow I could’ve sworn I saw a Windberg print on your wall. I love him, he’s from Texas.
@@treeannie8831 I think it's about 30 minutes by car
Shout It Out spray or oxyclean! I like Shout It Out the most for stain removal !
Thank you!
Try Clorox II or oxyclean. Let it sit and will probably need a couple of treatments. Lovely home.
I'll try Clorox II. I tried the oxy stick, but maybe I should leave it on longer. Thanks for the tips!

I had to paint the upholstery on my cream chair as the stains just would not budge, it’s worked well
I was considering painting the chair, but I’m worried that the stains will come through and look darker. Did the paint cover the stains completely?

You have a lot of candle making equipment for your candles. Has anyone ever told you about "flashpoint" ?

Take your chair cushion to the local dry cleaners… they’d probably get it clean.

Thanks, Mary, I appreciate your compliment. ☺️ I’ll try the peroxide tip, thank you so much!
I have great luck with peroxide as well. I do peroxide, dawn dish soap and sprinkle with baking soda and scrub with an old toothbrush, reapply.
