Since the plans say it requires a lathe. What material diameter is your lathe or do you suggest? I am thinking of buying a mini lathe but then I am not sure that it would work out with this kind of project.
@@StraightOuttaTheSandbox you are going to spend about that much on something that uses a 6 inch clr die. You can always look at affordable bender brand. Google em. They don't have the exact matching clr but they are cheaper and it will work just means the tubing may require slightly different notching.
I'm trying to print the plans and it keeps telling me they are protected files and won't let me do anything with them. What do I do, how do I print them so I can start building this for my kiddo?
Best homebuilt buggy video ive seen, there was actually some thought put in to how it all goes together. And then built methodically rather than just throwing it together and hoping it works... only peice of advice i have is clean up everything you are going to weld before welding.. it will make the finished welds look much better and wont have as much spatter
Its cool as hell to build big fancy projects when you've got a $300,000 shop full of equipment, but its so much cooler to do it on a sheet of plywood with a grinder and a drill. Respect
It's really nice to see someone else use a CAD system to PROPERLY build a project!!! This is how I do all my projects, built right the first time..... GREAT JOB!!!! God Bless Brother. 😁😁🙏🙏🙏
ok, your project is completely crazy. your job is very well done. I've been looking to make one for 8 months and I've never found a plan like yours. i wait the end
The difference between you and I is that you are way more patient. I would never have bothered trying to build that wood framing on the table had you not just shown me how helpful it is. And the notch template is... well, top notch. Great work!
Man, I do not comment often but jour job is amazing and your notching technic is so clever !! 👍👏 The way you build the frame will make it straight ! I was thinking about building à crosskart, seems I found the way !! Keep Pushing !!
Been wanting to do a cross kart or go kart and came across kj raycing and was going to with his build but im starting to like your vids and presentation so much more. That fact your so young and have designed and learned this all yourself is really inspiring. Awesome work man
I will be buying. I was looking for a project like this for me and my nephews. I already have the engine from a 1980 Kawasaki KZ-1000. Patiently awaiting the plans. Keep up the good work!
Duude this is so cool! I can tell by the way you talk about it you put a lot of time and effort into bother the plans and all the small things like paper cut outs for the proper angles !!! Soo cool
Fantastic job describing what you were doing, providing great essential plans, and the brilliance in doing the table as the mold of building the frame inside is cutting edge to me. Very well done and I am recommending your page to those I know. You are on your game.
Designing a product is one thing, being able to build it is quite an another. You've accomplished both in such a way that anyone with basic skills can duplicate your project. Well done!
What can i say, just thankyou for what you have done, it is just brilliant how you have been able to do what you have done with just basic tools I will be there with you till the end i want to build one or maybe two for myself. All i can say is thankyou for sharing your project with all of us..
This video is fantastic. Great skills! I am in Canada and hope Kartcross becomes more popular here. Thanks for making this video and please keep them coming.
Id take this project on, but i know from the half cage i built i am no fabricator like you. Huge props for making this look calm and easy. Crosskarts are amazing!!
@@homemade_madness that's fine, metric is easier to measure with, anyway. It's just hard to find metric tubing over here. I'll definitely be purchasing a set!
Oh wow, that was exactly what i was searching for! Maybe in the next few months i will buy your plans and begin to build a crosscart myself. :D You are a legend :)
Omg this is awesome and your channel is stating to take off. In 10/10/21 you had 52.9k sub now you have 75.9 so that's crazy you gained 23k in a just under 2 months.. I wish you had the exact same thing but a 4x4 style like a Side by side or the RZR 1000. I want one but they are so expensive. Thought about getting an old cheap used one even generic and putting in a big street bike engine but if you built then made plans that would be even better! So a 4 wheel drive style man thats the ticket! Thanks for all the great content
Well thank you for making me want to start a new project along with my 10 others haha, awesome build series, really tought thru. Ill for sure be watching the rest.
Excellent series! I spent my career writing documentation for large scale (>100k users) network installations. The true example of an engineer is being able to follow your own instructions! lol BTW. It's called a Frame Jig. Not a mould. I make them for E-bike frames. Thank you for sharing your build with us. Nice work.
The design of the frame looks fantastic! Its nice to see you building one again with your own plans too. Now subscribed, bell on and awaiting videos and plans!
Hey man awesome job but bro cover ur skin when your welding. Welding with any skin exposed is basically the fast track to cancer! But dude I have been looking EVERYWHERE for a vid like this!!!
Very epic video! I didnt get a notification for it until now though. Guess I forgot to turn on notifications lol. Again excellent taste in music👌. I also just noticed we uploaded at the same time so thats pretty cool
I'd be a bit tempted to put a rotating rig on each end of the table so that the frame is easier to rotate in it, that way a weld could be done, then its opposite number on the other side to minimize the weld distortion of welding up all of one side first. We did that on some bus chassis that we fabricated at work.
Great video and like the effort you put in looking forward to seeing it through to completion. Only issue i have is no-one points out " you need to know how to weld properly and how to keep things from warping", you need access to tube bending tools or similar. Anyone can make a buggy or a crosskart etc but having it function and be safe is another story. Keep up the hard work but would love to see some added info going forward about safety and skills required :)
I think even my girlfriend could build this.. I even let the ads play without ad block cause this is worth it. I will definitely download and try my hand at building this. Wanted a cross kart since they showed up.
Very nice work, the template idea is mindblowing. Still two additions to consider: 1. The bend radii are a bit small for your size of tubing. They get bulged by a fair ammount, wasting a lot of strength (for which you paid in steel cost and vehicle weight) 2. A rollcage should never ever have a split main hoop (the one over your head). It should always be one uncut steel tube from the bottom plane of the cage over your head and back
Thank you for this great video! I really like cross karts and wanted to construct one on solidworks for fun aswell. The problem was that i had no clues about the dimensions so your video helped me a lot. Keep up the great work🙌

Great job, love the level of attention that everything is square and done corectly. Only one sugestion when it comes to welding, make sure u clean the metal properly before welding so u would get a better and cleaner weld.
That work table you just made as a template holder for the buggy build looks a lot like that bed that was next to you when you designed the buggy, if that is true them you are a very determined person. lol!
