I bought mine on day 1 and absolutely love it. I never have the case on, never dropped nor scratched it, no crunchy in the gears, no issues at all. And now I get what everyone was saying about Fold phones: once you get one, you just can't go back to a candybar phone again.
My only complaints are minor gripes. I wish the stylus worked on the front cover, wish I could store it in the phone, wish the crease was gone, wish it folded flat, wish it was bigger and closer to a 16:9 layout. That's about it. But again, all of these are minor gripes. I love what it is, but I'm hoping the Fold 5 addresses these nitpicks all the same..

As far as wanting it to last for a year, Samsung has a wicked discount on their new phones when you return the old. And I own my own small business so what I do pay is a tax write off anyway. So might as well upgrade each year and keep things current.

I absolutely love my fold 4 and don't plan on going back to a regular candybar phone. I am very careful with my phone but should note as a warehouse worker I do get a fair amount of dust. However, I've had no crunching, no power issues, and (luckily) no screen protector issues. Every once in a while i notice a bit of sound from the hinge, but it dissapears after a fold or two. This is my daily driver and I really love it. Unless Samsung makes some significant and I mean SIGNIFICANT changes to the phone with the five I'll keep the 4. Battery needs an upgrade as well as the crease that can be very noticeable at times. If they somehow make a boost in these directions with the next upgrade I will get it but for now, it's worth its to keep it as my daily driver for a couple years! What a fun phone!

Didn't need to use the sticky tape at all, fits snug. Dropped it a few times with zero scratches or dents to the phone or case. My only complaint is that sometimes it runs out of memory or maxes out on processor, so it may freeze for a second after long, heavy use, but it's minor overall . Over the months of daily extensive use, I have grown to absolutely love the phone and the form factor. I have had zero issues with the fold and it works flawlessly everyday. I do agree that battery life is shorter especially if you use it more unfolded. But with UFWC, it's a non-issue. Overall, ive not looked back from my Note. If these flaws still make it the best phone…. How far down is the second best phone?
I think it’s interesting technology for sure, and I get the hype, but at the end of the day you paying almost $2000 for a device that is a thick skinny phone that isn’t the ultimate shape to be just a phone, and a tablet with a crease in the middle. I use my tablet for note taking and sketching, and I could not get used to it. It’s like drawing on a pre folded piece of paper. And if you just jot down on one side kinda defeats the purpose of the screen.
After playing around with a few of these, I think this is something that works on paper, but kinda doesn’t work in reality.
I think the pixel fold and Oppo Find N2 were the closest to work, but it should have been priced a lot more aggressively to make it work and in Oppos case make it mavailable in more markets. They nice phone closed, and I think it opens to nicer aspect ratio. The crease still sucks, but with no stylus support it’s not intended to do what I want to do with a tablet.

I'm glad you brought that point up. We are all hung up on having the best cameras and yes I agree with most that with paying a high price we would expect to have the best of the best. Besides that draw back, the fold has such a unique way of performing. Gaming on it is awesome, watching content and reading documents or books is such an experience that you don't get on a regular phone. Yeah it is a thick phone and it's something to get use to but I'd rather have a thick phone with heft than a thin light phone that feels like it'll break. This phone is not for everyone nor will it ever be. Foldable will for the time being be an underated phone because let's face it, majority of consumers wouldn't really want it or know what to do with it. I will say this, having this phone is awesome, it beats carrying a tablet around if I wanted to catch up on some reading or catch up on some RUclips content, when I'm done fold it up and back in my pocket very convenient, also this phone can be helpful for people who have a hard time seeing. Making the text more visible on this phone looks great and doesn't feel cramped compared to other flagships.

No disrespect my friend , but 6 months or 24 weeks , the phone is still virtually brand new , citing. "durability" at such a short term is almost laughable , I have both my galaxy S8+ and galaxy note 9 which are 5 and 6 years old and in pristine condition , my note 9 I still use , my S8+ still gets a little bit of use a couple of times a week, and neither of these devices have ever needed a repair and have been used to death , and the screens still look great .
don't get me wrong , its good to know they are holding up to this stage , but 6 months of use is hardly durability , come back in two years or three years and I will be interested to see if the fold lasts that long without needing repairs ( I am highly sceptical though mate ).
I do like the idea of the unfolding extra screen real estate , for old eyes , large screens are easier , but I still am not a fan of the delicate screens , not to mention the narrow front screen which is a double whammy if you have less than great eyes and also large ish hands.
In my neck of the woods , the fold is 2K+ costing device , at the higher specced level on the high end of 2K , no s pen , no SD card , no charger or accessories , the small front screen , and still the question mark of durability , for me , its a very hard sell.

I only have a Spigen case and no Samsung care+ and the same screen protector it came out of the box with on my Fold 3 and it is still in perfect condition. There is no way, a phone with 2 screens, especialy one that folds, should cost less than a phone that has one screen, with the same storage capacity.
The iPhone 14 Pro max with 256GB of storage costs $1200. Add just the 64GB version of the iPad Mini with data to get basically the equivalent of a Fold device's functionality and experience, would cost you $1850. Add apple care for your iPhone and iPad mini, $20 a month. $13 for care+, that initally provides a year of coverage for free upon purchase.
iPhone 14 Pro max screen repalcement: $379
      Fold 4 screen replacement: $499
Apple wins here, but imagine the cost of replacing an Apple folding screen?
All this to say, when you're compaing a product, look at what you get, like for like in comparison, then make a decision and don't just make a blanket statement without any context.
