I put a breaker bar on the key, just a piece of 3/4" rigid pipe. It made light work of it. And by "light work of it"I mean it broke the lock inside and the blade is still stuck 🫤
I don't recommend these methods, if its stuck badly enough you cant do it by tapping the spanner on something, ( not too forcefully) then the way I have found to do it safely is to carefully cut the nut down the sides of the thread with another grinder, if you put alot of preassure on the locking mechanism you will ruin it and the gearbox case as well, I know, I just did it for the second time today over 20 years and am kicking my self for not just sacrificing the nut... now I need to buy another $379 grinder. get spare nuts and or quick release ones so you are not tempted to risk destroying the lock pin and gearbox case.
In some extreme cases your way must be helpful, no doubt, different options are for different case scenarios for sure. Thanks for your kind and valuable thoughts.
@@easytekDIY Thanks, it did get me thinking that it would be great if someone did a really comprehensive video on the topic, I will also try wd40 next time it happens before cutting the nut.
