Not sure where to put this but a few months ago I saw your Asian squat lesson on YT. I have had a painful knee for ages, x rays said I had arthritis, seen a physio who gave exercises to strengthen my hip but didn’t really solve the problem. Having lived in Asia at times the lesson resonated with me and I have practised the Asian squat several times a day almost every day since. My knee is now fantastic! I am 75 so was fearing knee replacement etc. My knee does get tired if I do several hours of gardening but is generally completely pain free. I can’t thank you enough. Best wishes..

That is a great exercise. Thanks for explaining that it is important to keep the rotation of the hand/arm complex moving. I am an artist, and because of long times drawing/painting I get pain in my arm/shoulder
@@TaroIwamoto I had a hard time finding the video (there are a lot of videos on shoulder mobility, but when I combined this with your name it came up. The rotating cup exercise reminds me of certain Qigong exercises that use the rotation of the wrist to activate the entire hand-arm-shoulder kinetic chain.
You are absolutely brilliant. I can’t wait to try this for my shoulder. And as you probably know it is moves that are very similar to belly dancing and martial arts. But of course standing up. Thank you so much for all your knowledge
I'm very excited about trying these exercises. I had a rotator cuff surgery back in 2003. The surgery was supposed improve my shoulder, now I have less range of motion, flexibility, and more pain. What exercises do you advise to break up scar tissue in the shoulder? I'm really loving your advice it so motivating. I'm motivated to try everything, now. I channel is going to help me with my yoga 😁
Don't use a heavy book unless you are sure you won't drop it on your face! I use small dry-erase board from my kids' school days; it is very light and has rounded corners.
Hi. I have frozen shoulder and I tried your previous shoulder pain exercises which worked very well in reducing the pain. Can you please explain this exercise? What's the connection of the rolling motion of the body to the rotation of the arm?
I used to do this as a child when I was bored. I will use what ever toy I was playing with at the time. I had found it had calmed me down. But now as an adult with injuries is kind of difficult to do now.
good question. here's good alternatives that don't require much floor space: ruclips.net/video/mCCp3sHElc4/видео.html ruclips.net/video/kn3gikJcrMg/видео.html
@@TaroIwamoto it has been 4 times (today included) in the last month that I go to get adjusted and the chiropractor is not able to adjust C1/C2, he tells me that they are stuck/locked and can't adjust them (this particular chiropractor might have some limitations, but I trust him). In the meantime my brain is limited functions (very foggy brain) and I worry to have permanent brain damage. And since this technique that you practice is having a big impact on body, I thought there might be a specific exercise to help unlocking my cervical.

this exercise requires coordination between arm, shoulder, and torso, or you get stuck or strain your shoulder.
Good vid
thank you!

always start with what you can, then gradually progress. more importantly, enjoy!
If I don't have that floor space, can I get the same effect rolling on the wall? Any modification needed?
