    I just found your videos and watched each more than once. I will start these movements tomorrow, although I am 75 and have been plagued with this for the last 12 yr. I’m so hoping that by following your instructions I may still be able to retrain my brain to get some correction if possible. Thank you!

      Attitude is everything! It's recently been discovered that we can change our brain at any age. Previously it was believed that our brain was permanently set at a young age. Keep going and don't forget to update us in a few months, or whenever you have news to share.

    I have been doing Feldenkrais for five years and have never found anything as effective as these videos for scoliosis. My scoliosis is fairly severe and I have been greatly relieved by just the first video, and now the second has brought more relief. Thank you so much Taro.
    Your kind, gentle and positive energy is much appreciated. 😊

      Agreed. There isn’t a lot out there compared to other issues. It’s a serious issue for some people but these exercises make me look at it in a whole different way. It’s a nervous system issue as much as physical, if I’m understanding it correctly.

      Forreal! Everything else is geared towards younger people to prevent scoliosis but they make adults feel like this is a death sentence and it’s too late to do anything but just get surgery

    Thank you❤ for sharing your time and knowledge. This movement feels great! I was told I have scoliosis by my pediatrician around 6-7 years old , it its slight enough we’re I’ve never worn a brace just was told to stand with my heels and shoulders to wall as a corrective measure, and be mindful of my posture. Been a runner for about 26 years- I’m 36 now and I have not been faithful to that practice but I try to be mindful of how I move, I do notice that it stems from my hips 100%%%%% lots of clicking and grinding going on it that area. I appreciate you very much for reaching out to help us all.

    It's always surprising to see how effective feldenkrais can be. It's not easy to find the right exercises to do but when you find the right one you notice the difference rather quickly.

      it's all about informing your nervous system of many movement patterns so it has more resources in the store and you won't get stuck in one pattern all the time.

    It is true that all people have scoliosis some degreee?

    • @TaroIwamoto
      @TaroIwamoto  Год назад +1

      absolutely! we (humans) are naturally asymmetrical in both structure and function, so it's rather natural to have some degree of scoliosis. The question is whether scoliosis is affecting your functions in a negative way. If it is, then we can retrain our movement patterns and reduce the negative impact on our functions. Asymmetries don't necessarily require correction as long as they are not negatively impacting our functions.

    Hello, I'm 17 years old and I have 35 degrees of cobb scoliosis, could you tell me if it's possible for me to decrease at least 20 degrees? How long could it take? I would really like to have an aesthetic body: I already have height (1.90) but it is absolutely useless if I have scoliosis.
    I couldn't understand practically anything you said, because I'm from Brazil and almost nobody here really knows English.

He says he thinks the knots in my back are decreased.
