He fought to end the fight, so he could go home, a life with his wife, and eventually his kid
He made the sacrifice play, to save everything he knew, had ever known.
I'm not going to spoil Endgame. Stark was the only hero in the MCU who kept his eye on the greater good. While Thor fought with his family feud and Cap had his moral dilemma, and everyone else focused on what was going on in their lives. Stark always kept his eyes on what was coming, a true futurist. For his effort...He was called selfish...self-centered...does not play well with others...blamed for many things...He was the only Avenger that stood up to Thanos in Infinity War while the rest were not around to be with him. Imagine how that must have felt. You tried to warn everyone for years of this moment and now it's here, and you are alone. In Ironman, in that cave. He was told "You are a man who has everything yet nothing." Keep that in mind when you see Endgame because he will be asked to make a choice.

Tony was right all the way after New York. The idea of the Ultron was, after all, right.
SPOILER Kinda like the idea that the dying Cap America in Tony's dream at the beginning of Age of Ultron referred to Tony's discovery of the time travel in Endgame when he said "You could could have saved us". In that same scene Cap's shield was broken in a curiously similar way to that which we saw in Endgame final battle, and the presence of Thanos's army in the dream suggests that it was a kind of vision of the future. A vision that unfortunately corresponded with Tony's biggest fear.

@@loganhernandez8745 There is a lot of them, which is unfortunate since his story is the most complete story arc in not only the MCU, but in movie history. I'm still holding back plot points from Endgame because the Russo bro's said this Monday is the day we can start talking about it opening in the comment sections. But there are things I can say, such as his PTSD in IM-3 and why he said he was "just tinkering". He was not tinkering, he was obsessed and he openly admitted it to Pepper that he could not lose the one thing he adores and cherishes the most. His armors were all proto-types for his final armor, the end all to end all's. The "Shot Gun" armor, "Heart Breaker", "Red Snapper", all of them were all put into one armor because he knew, whatever was coming for them, that Endgame was going to take the very best from him. He was banging the drum since IM-2 that he was not enough and he already was taking steps a head of time to make sure we had fighters, and all it took to pull it a part was pure pettiness. When people argue that Captain Marvel is the strongest. She's not, she's does not even come close. There was a movie back in the 90's called "Angus" and in it, the late actor George c Scott gave a talk on why the all powerful can't be brave. All Tony had was what his two hands could make, his heart and an idea; then he squared off with a force who held the power of the gods. He was, in every sense of that fight scene of Infinity War (And End Game...but shhhh ;) ) Perseus Telling Hades "not today". Every chest unit he built, every repulsor refinement, every Mark # armor built, was for this and the Avengers were built for this. But because of petty bickering... He was alone. Obadiah Stane said that someone else came out of that cave. It was the Strongest Avenger, the one that put the world and the universe on his shoulders without hesitation and reminded everyone. I Am Iron Man.
Saw Endgame today morning and I ate 2 cheeseburgers for lunch...

We should all be grateful for Robert Downey Jr playing this roll. He portrayed Iron Man in the most perfect way. No one could have done for the MCU what Robert has done. It is successful because of Robert Downey Jr. it began with him. We love you Robert. We love you Tony. We love you Iron Man. That's the thing. There was a time when Tony wasn't that guy. Early in his career, his operation in the suit was entirely driven by his own ego, his own self-interest, and his own guilt. It took character growth, and introspection and the challenge to take responsibility for more than himself to turn Tony into a person capable of giving totally OF himself, rather than giving TO himself.
Now, Earth has really lost his best defender. RIP Tony Stark. We love you 3000.

Hannah O'Toole I wouldn’t say he is as much of a good guy as captain America is, he (stark) made and sold weapons responsible for tons of deaths and created Ultron. But Cap fought in WWII and fought for freedom
Cool B3ans and Tony changed his ways when he learned what his weapons were doing. For his new journey as Iron Man, he has been atoning for the sins he had made. He tries to be better. He adapts and moves forward. He is not a soldier like Cap, not a warrior like Thor but an inventor. He tries to reinvent himself so that he could be the guy that was prepared. The guy that could save everyone. Now he bore witness to the death of his friends and has to reinvent himself again. This time to be stronger than he has ever been. The end is here and Tony will fight like hell for redemption

Just a reminder - Tony was a man. A normal, human man.
He wasnt even trained as an assassin or spy. He didnt go through the red rooms; learn to deal with pain and torture. He wasnt pumped full of super serum, he hadnt gone through the process Banner or even Parker went through. He wasnt a god, or an enhanced being.
He was a man.
And he physically, mentally and emotionally went through more than any other avenger or hero went through.
Yinsen told him not to waste his life, and he didnt.

Love these 22 movies recap videos... They are phenomenal. Every time I think to rewatch (and actually rewatching them non-stop in the last 6 months) the movies but realizing that all that I want is exactly these videos.

The Avengers Endgame was the most tear dropping movie. Iron man was all the good words you can ever say. The most tear dropping part of Endgame was happy talking to Tony’s daughter. Happy ask “are you hungry, what do you want” Tony’s daughter said “hamburger.” Happy replied saying “yah that’s what your dad wants to, I will buy you as much hamburger as want.” 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 why did he have to die, I mean he was the only hope of the Avengers (no offense for the rest of the Avengers) 😭😭😭😭😭😭.
