I was lucky to come across a 749s mono, which is the bike i will never sell
Definitely a keeper!! And I'm slightly jealous haha 😅
loved the review, especially as i got myself one of these 3 weeks ago and recognized the roads you were on. Love the dry clutch and the way its looks divide opinion. Although i do remember not liking them when they first came out but love the looks now

My 999s is simply the best bike I've ever owned - and that's coming from all of these which I've owned in the last 3 years: Ducati monster 1100evo / Ducati 1098 / Ducati 1198 / 2013 Ducati 1199s Panigale / 2006 Honda CBR1000RR / 2005 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R / 2014 Yamaha R1 / 2013 Aprilia Rsv4 / 2004 Yamaha R1 / 2007 Kawasaki ZX-14
999s is just beyond anything I could have ever hoped for.
P.s. I fitted a cheapy gear position indicator and it works 100%, plus I use the 'choke' (not actually a choke but it opens the throttle a little for cold starts) regularly while riding as a brilliant cruise control.
Looks like you really enjoyed it! It’s easy to fall in love with 🤣 hopefully my other bike will be ready for review soon 😬 another very good bike, arguably an icon but VERY different 🤤
I can Definitely say did bud! And once again thank you very much for the opportunity 🙏
Awesome vid! Been looking at picking up one of these used. I used to look at the posters and article of these in magazines when I was a teenager and now being able to pick them up in great shape for under $10k is too tempting. Surprised there is so little content available on RUclips regarding these bikes.

I have a 1200 Gen 1 Diavel, but i keep looking for a 749 as a 2nd bike. Thanks for the review. The bike looks fantastic.
got some vids on my 749s

Nice video!
Lovely, lovely bike! Used to think they were ugly (front end at least) back in the day, but now I like them more and more. Defo need one in my life!
those valve cover gaskets probably need to be replaced, otherwise that lower front cylinder will leak. Also they need heavier battery and starter cables, but other than that, these are very strong reliable machines!
749 is one of the most enjoyable Ducati experience ever.
Really enjoyed thanks mate, sounds wonderful 😎
If any of you guys have a problem with the dash no longer illuminating you can take apart the dash and try moving the pins around. The clip allows the el panel to vibrate and it wear’s through.

I’m new to the world of bikes, always admired from afar but always been a classic car guy. I must admit I’m really drawn to the 749, not sure whether it’s the right bike for a 53yr old ‘newbie’ but I’m just soooo tempted, should I do it?!
100%, i got one 3 weeks ago after a 15 year break from riding.........love it
Definitely. One that has been looked after. Suggest 999s or r as they're going up in value.
No!! Yourea new rider buy a older ducati s2r or a newer yamaha R3
Always been a dream bike of mine since I was a kid, now as a 6ft 4 bloke I doubt I’ll fit on one 😭 how tall are you just for reference? And what’s it like comfort wise, it would only be a weekend toy for the odd hour or two blast
6ft 36 here. Can move seat position back for a decent and uncramped fit. Lots of wheight on the wrists sitting up. More comfy past 60kph tucking down.
How do you think it’ll work for a 6’5” rider?
I have opportunity buy one with 6k km on it and I starting to fall in love but still never ride it
No ABS . don't count the gears just listen to the rev's
These will never be worth that much for the simple reason that the maintenance costs are fixed costs, as the 848 and 899 depreciate they'll always push the price of this down.
Not true, these are the last of the hand built Ducatis. These will slowly overtake the 848 in price.
You’re kidding. Prices have doubled the past 8 years or so and they keep climbing every year. I own a 999S and a 999R. Sound investments.
The 999R is already a classic
I have the same bike but you would never know by looking at it with all of the 999RS bodywork custom paint and 924 big bore kit
Make a video of it please, sounds like a sick bike.
