I lived in Kona for 5 years. Photographers paradise. Best place for sunsets. I shall return.
I spent three months helping build the University Of The Nations Campus, which is run by YWAM, and I would go downtown almost every day and relax on the beach in front of the King Kamehaheha Hotel and one day, I met Diamond David Lee Roth, lead singer of Van Halen, sitting on the same beach! This was years ago, in the early 80's, so they had just started construction on the University. At the 24:45 mark, directly below "Kailua-kona,' you can see the University up on the hillside from the Royal Kona Resort, which wasn't there at the time. I would love to go back someday and visit the University which I helped build. Maybe some day.

Grew up on Kona Pier watching my Dad captain our fishing boat during 28 Billfish Tournaments. Paddle the Liliuokalani canoe races. Thought my dream life would eventually be living in a home on the the water on Alii Drive... still dreaming... the vog changed my plans a bit. Kailua Kona love.
I was there back in 2010. I stayed at the Kona Bill Fisher. This video brings back a lot of awesome memories. Great video, dude!
We’re still convinced that every time we get our rental car there, the only way it knows how to turn is right at the light and straight on to the Kona Brewery! 🤙🏻🍺
Looks basically the same as when I moved away in 2014. Only thing that's really changed is that there are double lanes on the highway by the airport now

Hey I made this trip in March of this year. We got a better appreciation of this island this time. Where was your camera mounted. I feel like I am riding on your bumper. It’s interesting landscape from the air port to Kona which includes views of the ocean I hope you take more videos on the Big Island.
