- Our all-day coverage of SDCC Day 1 in Ballroom 20 includes the Sherlock panel with Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss, and Sue Vertue in attendance. Sadly Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch were not able to make it, but they did record a special message which you can see in the exclusive EW video, via the link below:

A couple things on the video. One, we apologize for the quality of the video, as we were using a secondary camera because we were running out of batter on our main one. And second, there are some omissions because we had to stop recording during the two video presentations.
But here it is, mostly, for your viewing pleasure.

I really appreciate the fact that you didn't film the clip. I wasn't there, so I didn't see it, but I hope everybody followed their wishes like you did. They deserve that respect and I thank you for not being "that annoying fan"

This happens at comic con every year and for every show!So what are people complaining and going on about!?!For the love of everything, it will air someday!Get a grip on yourself and enjoy the stuff we've been allowed to see!They weren't even going to go to comic con to begin with so thank the three of them for actually travelling there and giving this interview!

It's a reward/incentive for SDCC attendees and it sounds like they were only allowed to show it to begin with by guaranteeing that it would only be a limited screening.

Can we all please stop complaining? Honestly, we're incredibly lucky to have this panel uploaded to youtube for those of us who weren't able to be there in person, so to come on here and start ranting about how we couldn't see the clip is really quite ungrateful and disrespectful. It was a rough-cut clip anyway, and from what Sue said it sounds like it wasn't even up to them as to whether it was uploaded online or not - "they've asked us back in the UK" - so don't start moaning at them, please.
There's no telling what would have happened if Benedict and Martin had been there.

because although it is 3 movies, the hobbit films were filmed at the same time, it was just like filming one very big film.

i think figured it out:) its actually quite obvious if you pay close attention to what happens in the last episode like Moriarty says earlier in the episode when talking about breaking in the bank the prison and the tower "you just need a few willing participants" and a truck

Nah it's just the audio clip. I've searched a bit for the footage on tumblr to no avail.

im not gonna spoiler a lot of ppl so easily. I respect Marks, Steven and Sues decisions to take no footage (than again their are surely aware that ppl at the panel would at least talk about what they saw, afterwards)
If you really, really want to know, dig for it youself. its audio-footage + written discription. btw it isnt any plot spoiler. just a sweet scene between John and Sherlock

hmm well the thin is they always do this at every panel, they ask you to turn off your camera, to every single person in the room and after is done they show the clip
STOP I can't even listen to them talk about the JohnLock reuniting scene. I just. I can't.
I feel that the team could have handled this better.
Honestly, they showed a clip from a series that has been two years coming now to a bunch of die-hard fans at a comic con. Of course it was going to get out. It's a marketing ploy, and a good one. But it's leading to trouble amongst the fans and they should have known that. I'm not going to attack anyone here, so could you please stop being rude? I'm just annoyed of some people's behaviour.
From my experiences those stuff has always been available on the internet afterwards... but hey, I'm not an expert on that area and I can't speak for every show.
Guys, if you had the time and money to go to one of the biggest days in media, then you get to see exclusive things. If you didn't, you don't. I believe that's how it should work, otherwise whats the point in going?? It's really not a big deal. I'm sure you can survive a few more months

And the clip from episode two? Please if you have it, post it, I think not everybody is lucky enough to go to Comic con, but that doesn't mean we haven't the same right to see the scene as the people who were there.

Sorry, but I don't agree with you guys. Moftiss has already gotten in trouble for the audio clip getting posted on tumblr and if people keep doing crap like that, they're not going to show previews at all anymore. I understand that everyone can't wait for the new season, but I think we can all wait for a few more months >.>

They promised BBC that it wouldn't get shown. Im sure they are catching hell for the audio post. For our next hiatus after season 3 how would you like to have nothing at all? No audio clips no filming of the panel no nothing? Because thats what could happen if people keep leaking stuff. They will get in trouble with BBC and i know its not fair and i really would like to see the clip too because i can't travel to sdcc but we will just have too keep waiting. Which sucks but we can do it!

make it sound like you got more right to be there than any not-disabled who couldn't go. that was rude. Its fine that we dont all see it yet. Lovely for those who did but its the show runners decision how and when and to whom to show it. we should respect that.
(btw if you really do care to know there is an audio-nly footage out there!!)
I think its fine that they wanted to make sure not to spoiler us unless you rly want to and dig deep for it (obviously ppl would find some way to spread it)
Sorry, but this fuzz about the spoilery scene is annoying me. Frankly, I'm shocked.
If you want to keep it a secret, that means if you don't want this scene to be seen by others, don't show it at all! I mean, they chosed to release that finished clip.
Like, for the record, most of the fans have been very respectful of their wishes to keep things a secret. But now Moftiss are taking it a bit too far in my opinion.
It's not about the Sherlock fandom being above those things. When people feel that they haven't got the same rights as others, they will always act like this.
As for me, I've calmed down. I still don't approve of this method.

Moffat warned everyone at the Doctor Who Panel that they would stop showing exclusive clips at conventions if anyone recorded and posted the video/audio. According to him, someone recorded the audio from the Sherlock panel and posted it online (it has since been removed).
Moffat asked that the clips not be shown. Someone streamed the sound already however if the BBC caught wind that the clip was out they wouldn't allow any more clips to be seen at future Comic Con's.
I think it's ridiculous to "promise the fans in England it won't be on the internet" THEY GET THE DAMN SHOW FIRST! What does it matter?! Show the English fans as well, then. Lord.
Why are we all arguing like this? Throughout the whole Series 1 and 2 the Sherlock fandom has always been so sweet and welcoming. What happened?
It's one thing to listen to the English talk about their hobbies...it's another thing to hear English nerds talk about their hobbies...wow

Usually the exclusive trailers wont ever air outside Comic Con in that exact format.
