Respectfully this name switch was very unnecessary. They were paying homage to the place that they took inspiration from through culture with no disrespect. Literally just taking ideas from a actual place “Chinatown” and it’s markets. Hopefully the people speaking for Chinatown were actually from Chinatown
Str8 facts why did they bow to the mob? If they wanted the brand to be called something boring like Market that's what they would have originally named it. They bowed to some probably tiny % of their customers who felt like the name needed to be changed if any of their customer felt that way why would they be customers in the first place lol. I really wonder about the CTM->Market impact on sales I completely lost interest after it and was a pretty avid collector prior.
How good is life in their country when people can find stuff like this problematic? Sad because I love the brand. Hopefully this helps them continue their success.
This is so sad the excuses after excuses, but They gave in and got scared of the media, I truly believe he should have held on and stood his ground. The support would have shown and the brand would have continued to grown. What could have been now CANT be. 😔
I be loving how everyone I’m the comments are talking about how they feel about the brand name and disagreeing with it but your not thinking about what the people in that community thought of the brands name. Even if you are paying homage, many cultures just want to keep what they created to themselves, especially if it’s being capitalized on. Like some things are over the line but something like this isn’t. Think about your culture and something private and ask yourself how you would feel if someone took that and made a profit off of it.
Did your family have to change its name because of the war? Was German too offensive of a name back then? Found black entertainment looking for movie proniunciations of bad accents from the 50's, lol.
Should've kept the name and dropped the prices, would've blown up instead of folding to pressure and ruining the brand
Str8 facts
Well I'm about to start up Chinatown market then since they don't want to use the name.
