Chick, thank you for teaching and encouraging! I’m in Arkansas and have learned so much from you and your sign off always gives me confidence in everything I do! Thanks again!!!
So how do you handle the pipe grade falling below the 6" max on the emitter. Can the line be sloped up or do you slope down and add an extension on the emitter to go above 6"?
Thank you so much for providing such great, wonderful, and invaluable knowledge and tips to everyone of us. Have learned so much from you and what you do. Keep on rockin'! 🤟
how do you control the slope of the pipe when laying down the pipe? It needs to have at least 1% slope in cold regions. Also, if the popup emitter is too high, there would be overflow at the downspout or catch-basin end.
Good share. Thank you. I am planning to do drains on my home. Digging in clay soil is a pain. Couple of observations: 1. Cleanouts. Are they worth the extra cost? I see you haven't used them here 2. Instead of using an elbow for popout, I was thinking of using a T and put some gravel under it. Pipe would drain better and not hold water, I think. 3. Should I use double walled or single walled pipe? Please advise. Thanks in advance.
I have a question Chuck, I am wondering if a 1/2 horsepower sump pump can handle 4 downspouts and 4 drains, I have another sump pump running 3 downspouts and 1 drain on the other side of the house, will I need a 3rd sump pump? thanks.
The worst that can happen is the sump will temperately over fill, but will go down quickly. Make sure the output pipes are what the pump calls for, usually 1.5".
If the lines are pitched properly and clean, water will empty long before it can freeze at any level. I would use solid pipe as the black corrugated will never fully empty. Don't use a popup at the end, that too retains water. The discharge end should be open.
91 degrees and 100% humidity - I feel your pain. Irrigation contractor from Palm Beach. Excellent video.

Chuck, nice to hear your positive attitude and not afraid to get down and dirty. thanks for the video! Happy Holidays!
Can’t tell you enough how much your videos have helped me. Thank you
Chuck congrats on 10 years being a RUclipsr.
Thanks Chuck for sharing your knowledge. It's appreciated.

Why no wyes for clean outs? Especially with the oaks over roof? I watch all your videos just curious no hate or judgement.

I usually make few small holes on the bottom of PVC elbow pop up so water drain slowly after rain
Thanks Chuck …… I appreciate the videos
Is there a way to send the water to a garden hose instead so certain areas can be watered?
Sure
@@Goforit2nite try looking at Lowe’s
I love my 12v too for the same reason…batteries last forever and they plenty of power for getting small, medium and some large jobs done :)

curious to find out this same information myself as I'm thinking about doing the same thing to my house.
Is it good to put soil on the pip instead of gravel?
I wish I had soft soil like that here in CT. You cant stick a shovel anywhere without hitting a rock
Can I use a 3" trencher to install a 4" corrugated pipe? It's much more readily available.
Definitely need a 90 and a clean out on that downspout, probably need some tape on those connections to prevent roots.
I’m trying to get a hold of you and just can’t, bummer.
Hi, Does water stay in the black pipe because it’s a pop up not a open end. Also what’s the minimum trench depth. Thanks.
Those sharp edges on that cut strap is gonna get a child at some point I’m afraid
Do buried downspouts just not need much slope? What if you’re taking it 25 feet away?
I have a lot of digging to do in my future lol
Do you drill a weep hole in those pop up elbows so it won't freeze solid?
No chance of that happening in Miami Beach.
Hi Chuck.. Bella and Mark!
Hey! Good to hear from you!! Thanks for watching. Check out all the videos and let me know when you plan to come to Florida!!

How deep do you burry those lines and should they be buried deeper in ct taking in consideration for the heavy frosts we get? Thanks

What about grade, don’t you use a transit to get a flowable system causing pooling.
Hey so I’m not sure if you are reading these I really need your help with my lawn I’m in Orlando area and need an estimate
Always drill extra holes in the pop up so water doesn’t set
Thanks! When do you choose corrugated vs PVC?
PVC preferably under a slab where you’re going to be driving thru
When you want to save material costs.
He needs to go back and watch your videos. Js
Anyone else catch the van blow through that stop sign?
Why wear black clothes if you work in the sun in Florida?

That neighborhood could be any neighborhood in California with those palm trees so don't be fooled.
Do the California neighborhoods have gutters and drainage systems?
