Thank you for this video, very clear...I am getting a P001800 on a 2013 A8 L with the 4.0 V8 twin turbo at 130Kkm...did oil change, checked 12v on solenoids + test, 5v on both cam sensors + resistance, as well a crank sensor,. did a seafoam..still getting code...did not do a engine flush, but starting to think its the chain stretching or tensionners. wondering if I forgot any other test I could do
In my experience , the code went away after switching to full synthetic oil. I was ready to spend the money but my mechanic recommended I do that first. It's been running well now . Over 100k miles on King ranch
Seems like it could be any of the things mentioned in this video. I would take it to Ford and have them deal with it since they should have already replaced this when they worked on it last time.
Mode 6 and similar are geared toward engineers. As a technician, troubleshooting, for me anyway, is more practical, such as testing the components that may be bad or another part that can cause something to not work. Everyone has their own troubleshooting style; in the end it is basically whatever works to get the job done.
I have 124,477 miles the code won’t go away I’m taking it to a mechanic today.. I already spoke to 3- suppose to be mechanics.. and they talking crazy🤡

Please I want a video of the position of the two crankshaft when the engine is on the timing only

Do you look at VVT monitor in mode 6 to help with the diagnosis?
Thank you in advance for your answer.

@@HVAC_Mechanic Thank you for the reply. Agreed, whatever works to get the job done.
I am always curious about techs using mode 6 that is why I asked.
I have a p0018 code in my Audi a7 2015.. I changed only the sensors and still it’s there/code, so I quess it’s on to the next thing🤨
Great information thanks

If you changed sensors then it's highly likely the timing chain sadly.
