Hi, I’m in the UK here and there are only a very few of us canners. I had to import a canner from the US and jars are crazy expensive (around £17 for 6 1pnt jars). But, I’m addicted and have been canning for about 8 months now. I love your channel, no fluff and nonsense. Take care, that cough is a little worrying. X

Canning is easier than you think. My father in law taught me years ago. When you hear the pop of the kids sealing you know it worked! Key things - hot clean jars, lids , and product. Water bath or pressure canning instructions can be found online. Also, START WITH SMALL BATCHES. don’t try to do 3 dozen the first few times you can. Start with 4-6 jars

I have never used a pressure canner. Only a waterbath pot for tomatoes and salsa. I've always wanted to do this but I am so scared of the pressure. Maybe it's the hissing sound of the steam being let off. Maybe it's old memories of mother very firmly telling us kids not to touch or mess with her canner pressure cooker while it was cooking on the stove. I am 61yrs old now. Watching you - a woman who knows how to do this - I really think I can do it now. Mom only canned vegetables. I would like to pressure can butter and meat like I've seen you do. You explain it very well. I'm saving your videos! Thank you for taking the time to teach us!

IKR!? I thought having an upright freezer was the best thing, until hurricane came through and power out for days. It helped keep cold, but I was afraid to open it to lose the coldness. I started looking for ways to store without fridge and there was dehydrate, and fat packed and canning. I love how she is so matter of fact and practical. Its not a trend it's a lifestyle and a process. I'm looking forward to learning more. 😁

HOWEVER, after watching your videos I've gained a new sense of confidence. Tomorrow I'm opening the box. I'm going to tell that canner who's boss and I'm going to can something. Anything. Hello lovely lady! I just purchased 2 cases of the 24 oz mason jars. They are difficult to find at a fair price (price gouging). I got them for 13.99 p/case at Ace hardware and there was a limit of 1 case. I bought one at the store and ordered one. Its just me so, 18 jars should be enough. Oh, and getting ready to pick and wash some beans just like you showed us. Thank you so much❤❤❤. Lord Jesus, please heal that cough. Thank you Jesus. Amen.

I can tell you were not feeling your best but pressed on anyway for us. Praying that you are able to get the rest that you need; so you can feel better. It may also help to gargle with warm salt water a few times back to back for 20 seconds each time. When I have to, I do that first thing in the morning and right before I go to bed. I hope that helps! I also hope this unsolicited medical advice is ok!😂 As always, Homestead Heart, wishing God's grace, love, peace and blessings for you and your family! Feel better! Great video! Thanks so very much for sharing. You are a joyful and patient instructor. I wanted to tell you how I make my "turkey sausage in a jar". I brown the turkey VERY lightly with all the seasonings I'd find in turkey sausage (sage, paprika, pepper, salt, thyme, garlic, onion powder, and so on to taste) and I use half butter and half vegetable oil in the pan. Not going to lie, I have been known to use lard and often add some jalapeno pepper or hot sauce. I then process that in jars the same as you do. This gives me a great breakfast or any-time sausage ready to use from my pantry. It even can be seasoned to replace Italian sausage on pizza!

Thanks so much for the video. I searched around and found yours to be the best one. I know that the meat was canned properly. I can’t wait to break in my new canner.

Love your videos using previously canned foods. For a newbie I did well canning about 50 pints of ground hamburger. Besides meat sauce for spaghetti and elbow noodles I made sloppy Joe's on hamburger buns. And don't forget to use it on your pizzas. So many uses that I will be canning more soon.

This a good idea for a emergency shelf staple... I'm going to leave this skill to you grocery pros...and purchase. 🤔 I'm not as confident.

Love watching your videos. My mother had a big pressure cooker and filled a cold closet in our basement with food for the winter. Wish I had her large PC. I used to can and make jelly and grape juice. I haven't canned for years but make freezer jam and freeze veggies. You caught me with canning butter as had never heard of doing that before. I want to make your potato soup but add some thick bacon to it.

Thank you for taking your time to teach us how to can. It is sooo appreciated! Now, if you would, please start filming videos using these canned meats in recipes. I wasn't taught to cook (God bless my mom. It wasn't that she didn't care, it was because she was the oldest girl in her family of 8. And to help out her parents, the burden to cooking fell on her shoulders...and it was her opinion that she didn't want to do that to her kids and/or she was just used to being the one to do it) Anyway...so it was a blessing and a curse at the same time for me. She was a great cook! And I learned some things simply by watching and eating her meals... but I have no creativity when it comes to cooking, especially when utilizing things that weren't used in her meals
