SPECIAL THANKS TO FRICTIONAL GAMES FOR PROVIDING US A FREE AND EARLY COPY OF AMNESIA THE BUNKER Amnesia: The Bunker is an upcoming fourth installment of the Amnesia series under development by Frictional Games. It was first announced on December 1, 2022 and is scheduled to be released on June 6th, 2023. The game will be set during World War 1, where the player will take on the role as the French soldier Henri Clément, as he tries to figure out the mysteries of the eponymous bunker, while at the same time trying to find his way out of it. Frictional Games describes the game as being semi-open world, with elements of the game being randomized, allowing for greater levels of replayability. Deviating from past entries in the Amnesia franchise, The Bunker also introduces several new mechanics, such as a crafting system and the ability for the player to defend themselves using a revolver. The good old days of watching loud weidos get emotionally atached to inanimate objects while dodging monsters. Also, playground dude...Why do you like your own comments?Ego much?
It's pretty eerie to think about it. Henri is mostly underground in his own hell and there's no one coming to help him due to the war going on. Even when he escaped, it's far from over.
@@EroticOnion23 And do what? they cant see Henry but Henry wouldnt see shite either. Also flares was a thing and nighttime sharpshooters too. Dont you think some German or French asshole commander wouldve thought to attack a night? they did and it didnt do jack shit. So....... no, Henry wouldnt be able to crawl out of the pillbox, and if he did he wouldve just gotten lost in No-Mans Land and become a dead man.
I wish more development studios would go along this route for game design. Not every game has to be a massive (and usually empty) game world. Smaller, cheaper, tighter experiences would benefit a lot of games that falter because of their massive open world maps.
My god finally someone peaches this. I’ve always made a point with countless games that if they just reduced the map size, whether it’s and rpg or horror game, it’ll be packed with more handcrafted and interesting content that is more entertaining to immersive yourself in. And holy crap is this game a perfect example of this, it’s literally as the game says. Surviving in a bunker, with a monster killing everyone inside, and you must get out. The bunker isn’t massive, but it’s still worth hours of your time to explore. Then there’s the countless other ways you can complete the puzzles, and the game itself. The game is also seamless, no 5 min loading screens, you make your way through the bunker, and return to the safe room to save, no interruptions the entire time. Such a great horror game that we truly needed. Horror has been lacking.
He big brained tho and knows you can speed run right over them taking only 1-2 chips of damage with plenty of health kits to more than mitigate the pain.
I can relate, let me tell you why... I understand you can pour fuel , but what do use to light it? I mean the flares probably? But then you're spending 2 items....when you can simply run or jump, getting a bit licked on the way by those rats haha, spending one item probably bandages...
I wanna add that those tall empty closets are meant for the players to hide inside and trigger a scripted event with the monster appearing, that's why it couldn't be damaged at 1:01:39 I think the game could have reinforced that mechanic better by making the player automatically gets killed if they stay within the trigger area for a period of time without hiding I have seen most walk-through streamers completely skipped that part and there's no consequence by simply walk out of the monster sight which is kinda a bummer actually
This is a dynamic ai, the devs themselves said there is no scripted appearance apart from when it kills the soldier who gave you the gun. The monster also tracks you via sound or blood trail so walking out of sight is not going to just make it forget you exist unless you can cut a lot of corners to increase the likelyhood if it going down another path(and making sure you arent leaving a bloody trail). Plus, the monster becomes more aggressive over time the more you trigger it so 1 grenade or 1 bullet is not gonna cut it after a while in order to make it back off.
@@PANCAKEMINEZZ the monster is not scripted to show up if you hide in the closet, plus the player didnt even hide at the timestamp shown above, the gunshot brought it out, the monster was indeed damaged by the explosion, just didnt show the stagger animation. If it wasnt damaged it would not have ran away but instead kill the player. As for the dude wanting the player to be punished for staying in an area for too long(regardless if hiding or not), we literally have a generator that runs on finite fuel which forces you to not sit around and twiddle your fingers. Once you run out of fuel and you have no backup fuel, the monster comes out much more often, scouts around for longer and makes the player be in constant danger in the dark, thats the punishment. Also the monster can randomly check cabinets or if you were bleeding, will find you inside right away so even hiding is not 100% fullproof. But there is no scripted appearance apart from when you are given the gun and the final area where you fight it or attempt to exit the cave.
I know that there is no other brand which is capable of putting me that much stress how Frictional Games does. I've been playing the Amnesia series for so long and I still remember the days when my hands were shaking while playing the first game.

I find the Amnesia series could be made more interestingly if it uses historical events happening in a particular era to write a story (for example the Kanto Earthquake 1923). Additionally, since the ancient Roman Tunnel has been mentioned, the series might as well set the story to ancient era of different countries (in a way to connect that this phenomenon does not just only happened in one place) to expand the Amnesia lore
Red barrel relies pretty heavy on gross out and shock, not really in the ballpark imo, but they certainly create vibe and dread with mechanics and settings
Not every game needs to be long and priced the full $60, but I will say it’s a bit disappointing that a main-entry Amnesia game that’s been developed by Frictional for years is only a little more than two hours long.
Not really the main-entry. When announcing rebirth, rebirth was said to be the main project and that there was a side project yet to be announced. The bunker is a side project.
The end of game is very sad. Perhaps protagonist escaped bunker, but outside was just a bloody and horrific war out there, and there were Germans coming straight to French guy who just escaped death by demon which was his best friend before transformation.
The weapons the AI soldiers use and the pistol mechanics would make for a pretty good multiplayer game, even though the game is short they could definitely build on the combat mechanics. Also, how you have to heal manually would make for a decent “hardcore” experience
What is that ending? They both escape, Henri is taken by germans? Monster is killed by germans, or vice-versa? Is it meant to be open-ended, alluding to a continuation of the story?
@Ida-zv8nu mind you the way henri "escapes" is that the germans are alerted all the same and it ends as vague, but atleast the monster is dead :/ spoiler: monster is lambert, if you couldn't tell from the diary logs, so you use his son's toy to bait him onto the wooden bridges and explode them.
@Ida-zv8nu i feel like frictional have lost their grip. With TDD they just went balls-to-the-wall with ideas because there was no pressure to create something good or to live up to a legacy. Now it just feels like they’re awkwardly trying to redefine the genre just to fall short every time. They could do so much by just sticking to old ideas.
@Ida true, some of the journals were badly written and the monster being Lambert was so cliché. The developers really could've gone deeper in the Roman theme and have us meet some kind of ancient cosmic evil similar to what we saw in TDD.. That aolso would've been a nice surprise after clearing the bunker. Instead we get a fluffy rabbit as ultimate sentimental distraction.
@@piiOs15 This game has two main flaws in my opinion. There's no helplessness, the main hero has a lot of arms. And the ending is a happy ending. In a horror game. Why. Just why. You could have ended it with so much more desperation and suffering.

I love how German always sounds so vicious and authoritarian. "SCHNELL!!! SCHNELL!!!" This game has good attention to detail, too, like the main guy not having his finger on the trigger when he's not aiming and about to fire, which I heard was how it is with real soldiers.
Now I'm going to play an Amnesia game...because there's a weapon to defend yourself with. I'm not one to run and hide...I'm one to face with a gun. Thx Frictional !
Only problem with this game is that ammo for the gun is very scarce. Not only that , but using the gun will make a lot of noise and possibly attract the monster.
I think the saddest part of this game is that after all this terrifying work, he finally escapes. But after looking at the dead bodies and hearing the incoming soldiers shows that he didn't escape, not really.
I usually try not to be that guy, but the shotgun is out-of-place. It's a Winchester M1897, the trench version that was kitted out for WW1, but the only troops to carry it were Americans, and this game takes place in 1916, before the Americans even nominally joined the war on the side of the allied powers. I know it makes sense gameplay-wise for the spaces of the trench, but making Henri use a bolt-action rifle, like the standard french Lebel rifle, would have made for a challenging experience wielding a full power rifle in the narrow passages of the bunker.
When I first played this game it kinda reminded me of an escape room I went in called Monuments, it being set in a bunker, unlocking new places to escape the bunker, and being set during the war.
Look great actually ! Only thing that bother me so far is the language … I mean … German soldiers speak German but the French soldiers speak English ? 🤨
@@blublugamingchannel Yeap 😅. Game is not super challenging if you know what to do. But going blind at some parts was kinda tricky. Your playthrough helped me alot though. Cheers!

Tousant Journal @1:06:30 As for the shadow, could be the beast. Could also be Tousant isn't dead and came back to life? If Augustine isn't the beast, could also be him. But I agree the shadow looks more like a human silhouette than the beast.
Enjoy it on easy mode . Hard is annoying the first time you play . The creature is to sensitive about the slightest movements you make . The flashlight was annoying having to constantly wind it up .
man how did you get all them items in this play through? i get started my first game and received nothing in most areas. i can't find a block to bust open the doors. this sucks i might have to start a fresh one 😅
yeah at 1:23:28 their video cuts weirdly and now has his light out and shifted to the left a little. I would assume this is where they put their second run in, probably to showcase the shotgun a little later. because I'm pretty sure its impossible to get the shotgun before the soldier who has one.
I don't get all the praise for this game. It feels like one chapter in the much biggger game. Also the location is super repetitive and visually dull. Even Rebirth was much more fun and varied to explore
hi does anyone know what song is playing at 49:20 ? i’ve been trying to figure it out and my shazam can’t pick it up because of the background noises :(

Me: Praise Jesus.
Is this the actual full game? Or the demo
Full game
@AdolX that ending left me with more Questions then answers
@@puppetmaster1819 doesn’t amnesia always?
@@puppetmaster1819I think it’s clear that the Doom music is going to kick in and Henri is going to rip and tear with his shotgun
demo
the full game aint out yet
It's not full gameplay if you still missed a few notes and photos
Look great actually ! Only thing that bother me so far is the language … I mean … German soldiers speak German but the French soldiers speak English ? 🤨
I know right they should speak french
There should be an option to allow the French soldiers to speak French while keeping English text, like the Metro games, for more immersive reasons.
Amnesia the dark decent is still the best
Thanks alot for the nice playthrough! That helped me alot at some frustrating moments in the game 😅
Playing on normal difficulty?
@@blublugamingchannel Yeap 😅. Game is not super challenging if you know what to do. But going blind at some parts was kinda tricky. Your playthrough helped me alot though. Cheers!
@@kelomaniack Niceeeee
This game is a freaking masterpiece... I wish it was longer...
man this guy has no fear of making noices in this void bunker with a fucking monster .
What difficulty did you play on in Amnesia the Bunker?
Anyone got timestamp for tuosant jurnal @2:08:44 ? Because he went crazy at 2:11:40 . Also shadow at 2:15:20 is something else right? Not the rat monster.
Tousant Journal @1:06:30 As for the shadow, could be the beast. Could also be Tousant isn't dead and came back to life? If Augustine isn't the beast, could also be him. But I agree the shadow looks more like a human silhouette than the beast.
@@Gome.o thanks for the timestamp mate, i think if you stay at the fog too long you'll see the shadow as some sort of hallucination.
Thank you 🌹
Amnesia:The franchise that helped build the youtube of 2013!
Thanks for this excelent video. Great job. You took the bunny ❤
There needs to be more horror games set during World War I.
Feels more like a Penumbra game than Amnesia
Yep one bullet per package, and they also went to school, 20 miles, uphill, both ways, in the snow, all year...
Ah this brings me back to my days in iraq, where every ammo can on base had one single round of 5.56 inside. Loading those 30rd mags was a real chore
I made it to the 18 minute mark after the soldier got eaten, I couldn't handle the stress. So I came here and watched someone else be stressed out.
great play through!
Best amnesia game so far the concept of this game is like no other and the atmosphere is perfect if you are a fan of horror game its a must
(Am 40 minutes in.) These fires are being very merciful to their wooden surroundings, I must say.
I’m so confused for this game 0:03 it’s a good thing I found this
1:23:28
That was so F***king creepy
Haha, Henry while getting shot at in the pillbox was really like. "Shut up!"
Can we talk about how he was casually bleeding and passed up the bandage in communications
2 and a half hours? Let's say I will wait for a discount...
The longer a horror game is the less impact it has
@@oscarriveraabal9390 can’t agree tbf. It highly depends how many tricks developers got in their game to keep you engaged.
@@oscarriveraabal9390it’s more about the story being lackluster
It has multiple difficulties, randomized items with unscripted monster and custom stories
Eh, Amnesia games have never really been that long. And it also depends on how fast you run through versus how much you explore
Not yet played this game on gamepass, I'm too scared and I'm not good with puzzles, might give it a try later
I prefer the original Amnesia tbh, with the buildup and whatnot.
As it turns out, there is an Achievement for moving quickly enough to fight off The Beast when it comes for the German Prisoner.
They only let you pour like a second of gas into the machine no wonder power dies out so fast
Just wanted to see some gameplay to see if the game was good but then the game is only 2 hours long? Yeah I'm good
This guys rushing through the game on easy. It will take you way longer.
Where did you get the shotgun???
EDIT: SPOILERS
He must of been on a second playthrough, I got it at the very end first time playing.
yeah at 1:23:28 their video cuts weirdly and now has his light out and shifted to the left a little. I would assume this is where they put their second run in, probably to showcase the shotgun a little later. because I'm pretty sure its impossible to get the shotgun before the soldier who has one.
@@TwixAosyou right guys
You need to find the dog tags....they all contain codes on the reverse side of each one, good luck 👍
What button did u press to load the ammo
58:30
Surely you're not implying that the entire game is only 2.5 hours long?
That is in fact exactly what I'm implying good sir. And you would do well to remember it.
Every raid in Tarkov feels like this.
Summary of Amnesia The Bunker: Ghoul water yummy.
that torch is a pain
1:17:19 i wonder what kind of medicine Henri drank?
1.36 Thats a Renault FT, that tank was produce in 1917, the game is in 1916, Literally Unplayable...
I don't get all the praise for this game. It feels like one chapter in the much biggger game. Also the location is super repetitive and visually dull. Even Rebirth was much more fun and varied to explore
great game
hi does anyone know what song is playing at 49:20 ? i’ve been trying to figure it out and my shazam can’t pick it up because of the background noises :(
played way too hectic, it's obvious you played it before and didn't even scroll through some letters
I know the game is scary, but it was always amusing watching the rats march and *donk* their heads into the wooden pillar before moving around it
I can watch horror movies no worries but i can't play horror games. I have to watch them like a movie
1:02:55 Door can't decide 😅
