- A few weeks ago I found something REALLY awesome and I bought it. But, it will need a full size pickup truck to move it. I found one of those too the other day, a 1973 Ford F250 4x4 4 speed Highboy with a 360 V8! A bit rusty and a good amount of crusty, should be the perfect project 😂
Heavy duty vintage dentside pickup truck goodness (I said to myself), woohoo! I have always wanted a Ford F250 "Highboy" and this one was priced right for me. These things are kinda hard to find.
Time to start this rolling restoration project, warm weather is just around the corner!

As a proud owner of a 75 f250, I find thiese trucks beautiful. Just looking at jyst looking at your two trucks sitting side by side. Your 250, if it could tell its stories to his new friend.
took me 34years. you can build on these frames. there pretty stought. shes got 3500 lbs fronts. mans gotta have one of these in da garage,
When trucks were trucks.
i’ve got the same exact truck but stroked to a 390
Dude!
My name is Liam and I'm seriously not joking..
I live in Claresholm Alberta and I just bought your exact truck!
Everything is identical!
Inverter, winch bumper, rust
Even oil stains!!
We should chat!
I would love to know more about this beast of a truck!
The tires are identical!
It has to be the same truck!
No shit!
Haha, congrats Liam it's a beauty 👍 did a fella by the name of Levi sell it to you?
Yes!
Levi is the man!
This truck is going to be awesome for me and my son to spend time together rebuilding her!
Just also subscribed to your channel sir!
That is awesome news! Small world for sure. Keep me posted on the truck updates. It is definitely beastly and a great project for you and your son. Congrats again 🍻🍻🍻🍻💪
Thank you 👍
Nice truck! You should put a 12v Cummins in it!
Thanks for the comment. I recently picked up a 94 F250 4x4 with the IDI diesel and the factory turbo and it's pretty darn awesome. First time I've had a diesel and I'm loving it
@@JimmyMeatwhistle awesome man! Congratulations! I too have a 7.3 idi non turbo! It is a 91 f350 4x4 cclb with zf5! I really love the my truck! Maybe I’ll do a video about it!
Haha, awesome and thanks for the comment. That would be great if you did a video on it, I would love to see it. This truck has been so amazing! It runs like it's new even though it looks a bit crusty. 😆🍻
IIRC, having a Dana 60 in the front was pretty rare. I have a 1973 F250 4x4 as well and it has the Dana 44 low pinion front. I think that was stock, but maybe some came with the D60 up front.
Always time for a new truck! Look forward to seeing it all fixed up.
Thanks Craig, I agree 👍
I own this truck now, and my son and me are going to rebuild this old girl to its finest!
Yes! Been waiting on this. She's a beaut.
Thanks BT! I'm excited about this bemouth 😁
I'm in year three of my full restoration on my 73' F250 Ranger XLT 4X4
Very nice. Ranger XLT is a beauty. Thanks for the comment 👍🍻
My guess is a vintage Camper to go along with the sweet new vintage Ford! Fun project that's for sure.
😁
Super truck! Enjoyed the video production too, well done.
Thank you, much appreciated 🍻👍
How was the beer!?
It was BAD! But I drank it 😂🍻
That Toyota badge sure is spelt funny :D
Lol!
1973 model - drives past everything except the gas station!
Not this one. I have three gas tanks 😆
Good video nice truck but that’s not a Dana 60 front axle it’s a Dana 44 HD
Just picked up a 1977 F250 Highboy Flatbed last month! Excited to start my restoration as well. Love your truck!
Awesome and congrats. They are very beastly 🍻🍻👍
Oh my, dude, what have you gotten yourself into now?!? A huge camping trailer??😂😂
Haha! I'm going to do a reveal soon. That is if I make it there LOL
What happened to the Toyota Xtra Cab?
I have a 72 camper special long box parked right outside. Beauty 👍
Oh, nice! 👍 Blew my main rear brake line out today. It was rusted out so guess what I'm doing tomorrow morning 😆
@@JimmyMeatwhistle lol 😂 yep plan on a lot of that until you have gone all the way through it buddy.
I've had soooo many old crusty vehicles, I'm ready, haha! My daily drivers used to look like this 😆
@@JimmyMeatwhistle lol 😂 Sounds like me.
Wow I’ve got an identical truck! Same low trim model, winch equipped, 4 speed, 360. I love it. Mines a bit nicer but not too much! Body swapping it right now.
Also all white lol
even had the same fuel tank selector! 3 same tanks. We’re twins lol
Wow that sounds awesome. Yeah this thing is quite the beast, I'm really excited about it. Going to start swapping out somebody panels here soon and availability seems to be pretty amazing. Thanks for the comment much appreciated🍻👍
@@JimmyMeatwhistle you got yourself a twin and a sub. Keep us updated! Doesn’t snow often down here in the Midwest 😂
wow! a mans truck, wicked cool 8 foot bed and everything. needs a bit of love i can see. next fisher plow so we dont have to shovel that door yard. i think that little buldge in the pipe is a muffler but bad ass sounding till you get tired of your ears ringing. man i love old trucks and from what i could see the frame aint to bad. good luck. dana 60s are really good axels. 3/4 ton and all. have fun
Hi Ned! Not sure what that bump is in the exhaust, but this thing is NUTS loud. Too loud, like scary lol. Going to fix that because its nasty. Sourced some parts for it already. Looks like I have a passenger door and a few other bits next week. Frame is SOLID, some surface rust but no rot 👍
@@JimmyMeatwhistle i think those mufflers are called cherry bombs, basicly straight pipes, not fun unless you want to bother your neighbors and become deaf.
Yes that's it, cherry bombs. Very nasty stuff going on out of those pipes LOL
Definitely got to do something about that. I just want to put some regular exhaust on there. I have to pick up that "thing" on Wednesday. So it's going to annoy a lot of people cuz it's about an hour away from me and back. And I just blew out the rear brake line so fixing that tonight 🙄
If you have owned old land rovers then this will be a walk in the park for you, it took me 18 months to rebuild my Landy 👍
Yup, for sure! I had 4 Land Rovers series 2a's (2 swb and 2 long) and on two of them I had to replace the frames completely with new galvanized frames. I should have kept one 👍
@@JimmyMeatwhistle I have one of the first 90 300 tdi’s, I had to replace basically everything, chassis, bulkhead etc ( and now with new galv ones ) I would love a V8 though ☺️
Awesome. I’ve got a 75 F150 Ranger XLT. It’s not a 4x4 but I still love it.
Very nice! 🍻
That's the first year of the 150 👍

Frek n awesome...
Looks like deer hunting would be pretty challenging in your area. 😉
Looks like a badass farm truck, btw, check out vice grip garage for some entertaining rusty old resurrections!
Thanks for the heads up Sam. Will check that out for sure🍻👍
Looked like she was smiling 😃 pulling in the driveway! Did not know about the three tanks. It will be fun finding and replacing the dry rot on lines, hoses, and boots! Your wires and chewed up coatings will be a good thing to get off the list too! She was loud! LOL! I am working on dad's 71' CJ5, 3 speed, the shifter knobs seem to look the same. That surprised me too! HMMM? Basic stuff back then though. Watch out for cracks on the leaf springs. I ran into that problem here with mine. Have fun and stay safe!
Thanks BWC! Your CJ5 project sounds awesome. 🔥 yeah lots of things to go through but I have to pick up this "thing" this week so as long as it starts and stops I'm heading out LOL. Yeah lots of little things to fix for sure. I've got a list already and really surprised on how much stuff there is out there for these compared to the Toyota. I've got a passenger side door coming and a bunch of other stuff already 😁
@@JimmyMeatwhistle "Thing" man code! She is listening and has eyes and ears everywhere! LOL! Oh, and let her know it is buy your husband a gun month too! The deer videos strategically placed are perfect! The more different wildlife species that you can capture a clip of would be an awesome story in a story. Keep up the great videography! Thank you!
@@bwcok7947 HAHA! Thank you BWC, MUCH appreciated! 🍻🍻
You want something that looks like a truck, by anyone's. You want something that works like a truck, you buy a Ford. I had a '76 F250 Camper Special w/4speed manual. It was a beast. My fuel tanks were under the bed. I had an older ford with the tank in the cab, it's a bit worrisome listening to the fuel slosh around behind you. Good luck with it.
Thanks for the awesome comment and info. Much appreciated. This thing is pretty cool and it's had a pretty interesting life. I'm basically the third owner. The original owner work this truck in the oil sands in some pretty rugged conditions. And then it went to his son, then me😃😃
Oh my god...that truck is definitely a tank if I've ever seen one! Believe it or not, I had an F150 shortbed 4x4, bought it off of my Dad...it was a great workhorse, but had a bad engine...so got rid of it. You'll have a lot of fun with that truck...I must have missed it, still not sure how you came about to buying it...maybe in the next video?
Thank Steve! It is a beast haha. 🍻😁
Feeling “Lucky” after that purchase? 😂
Exactly 😆🍻
