A rough strat that has worked for me; if I start with a wonder producing a basic resource I tend to go all out basic resources (HOARDING THEM MAKES LIFE DIFFICULT FOR THE OPPOSITION AND YOU WILL EARN A LOT OF GOLD) and pick up the yellow card that make it cheaper for me to pay for advanced resources. I tend to lean towards yellow cards and civic cards here. Of course be flexible and read the game and react to what you get ITO cards and specific wonder. Then, if I start with a wonder with advanced resources I tend to go heavy intto advanced resources, science (I tend to focus on 1 specific and hope to get 5+ of them; at 6 you've probably won) cards and free military cards off of the science cards I've drawn. That and whatever else comes my way and makes sense.

But of course be flexible and read the situation. If your neighbor is light on military, by all means pick up military for instance. Eschew military if your neighbor is going for overkill of course.Go for the most points at the least effort- this might even mean a bit of everything rather than a 'specific card type' if the game goes that way.
