This reminds me of when I started playing comfortably numb on guitar instead of bohemian rhapsody. Wasn’t on drugs, just was really out of it that night
I saw them live in 2009 (4 gigs before they disbanded) and I listened to the audio from their Whisky a Go-Go performance, and I'd have to say the gig I experienced myself was worse. With all the mistakes, it seems like they at least showed some enthusiasm at Whisky a Go-Go.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing. It does seem whatever happened at Whiskey A Go Go had them full of energy. I’m sure the atmosphere in the room was intense!
I watched that whole show on RUclips and it is not the disaster people claim it is. They sound raw, loud and in the moment, like they're channeling their inner Iggy Pop. Sure, they had to restart their opening song but it's my favorite performance of that song, hands down. They never sounded so alive.
Agreed. I know it's only my opinion, but I think too many people just believe the myth/hype/rumour. It sounds amazing. Aside from the utterly shambolic start.
He didn’t even miss out any songs, I’ve watched the Whiskey A Go Go gig and all they seem to mess up on is Rock n Roll Star at the start, and redo it better. Granted a stage monitor broke and Noel’s mic was a bit too high and his voice was bad, but other than that, it was an alright gig!
Your mental health and your behavior is everything. In the 90s nobody gave a toss about a person's MH or sobriety status like they do now, as long as they showed up to the gig. This drug fueled insanity would not fly today.
Apparently the band The Brian Jonestown Massacre were asked by Liam and Noel "who's got some decent Cocaine ?" And Anton Newcome and Joel Gion gave the Crystal Meth instead 😂😂😂
I saw them in 2005. Not the best if I’m honest. I could see how incredible they would’ve been 10 years before, but to me they seemed uninterested at the time. Still, even if lethargically played, the songs were still pretty brilliant to hear live!
The worst Oasis gig imho was any show of the "Don't believe the truth" tour. That album it's great, and one of the best of the late Oasis, but the shows from that tour were soooo bad, Liam can't even sing the songs from the album (more suited for his voice at the moment), not just the classics.
Watching Oasis destroy itself was a highlight of my music loving life. The single talented member, Noel, survived. The detritus, Liam, is still a laughing stock.
I saw them play in Portland Oregon and they only played about 4 or 5 songs before Liam stormed off the stage. They were gone for about 20 minutes then they came back and played about half a song. Liam was so drunk by this time he could barely stand up. He was screaming obscenities at the audience. They were finally escorted off the stage and that was the end of the concert. Luckily Travis opened for them and they were great. But Oasis was a hot mess.
Tim Abbott was road manager... hes on the front cover of ciggies & alcohol... good mates with noel creation actually sacked him for always getting high with noel.. so noel paid his wages & kept him on
🐸 OASIS PLAYED OUT OF TIME AND TUNE , I the 90s I prefered Blur, so to stop people saying oasis all the time to me I saw them at a festival in the 90s when they were supposed to be good but they were slow and very out of tune probably because of the drugs and being deaf and having lots od deaf autstic type of fans which you couldn't take about then. I think they are known to be a bit stupid s well
Nah mate... Pulp were probably the band who broke Britpop and they probably invented the Indie sound with their 1983 Album IT.... Parklife and His n Hers came out before Definitely Maybe...
@@MusicMongoose ok yes fair enough. You are right about that. I didn’t realize it wasn’t just about the two bands as a whole but instead the chart war between the two singles. Blur still sucks

Wrong, wrong, wrong! Their worst gig was from the 2nd night at Wembley 2000.
How 'bout we split the difference & call this their worst U.S. gig... And Wembley 2000 their worst U.K. gig??? That work?!?!
well liam was the only one off at wembley
The worst gig of Oasis is still better than the best gig of Blur or any other band 😂

I agree. The 2009 shows were so lifeless.
The gig in Argentina in 2005 is considered one of the worst (I was there)
@@razumijinatreides4691 That was 2006 the infamous argentina gig no?
@@n1thmusic229That WAS awful for Liam's voice... Or lack thereof!

They sound fantastic. I cannot phantom why anyone would think otherwise. Just listen.

Rythm/tempo issues on Digsy's Dinner
I read somewhere that it was Joel the' tabourine guy from Brian JonesTown Masscre who scored for them did a swa0
I just made this comment. They did give them the drug. They didnt like them 😂

Hear hear
@@MusicMongoose You would hope, haha.
That’s why music’s so safe and boring now. Harry Styles should start smoking crack, maybe he’ll become interesting.
Which is why it was better, in the 90's. Which is what you're saying, so I agree with you.
ehhh all the big rock bands did such things as this, there are none now
This was the BEST GIG they did. RAW and explosive.
Apparently the band The Brian Jonestown Massacre were asked by Liam and Noel "who's got some decent Cocaine ?" And Anton Newcome and Joel Gion gave the Crystal Meth instead 😂😂😂
Noel kept playing different songs because his ser list was different than everyone elses
I*d also have to say the 2nd night of the wembley gig in 2000 was way worse
I thought it was pretty fantastic. Meth was so freaking everywhere at that moment in time. I love seeing anyone at the whisky: iconic.
You can find the full video of this meth gig on youtube. It's actually pretty good.
Noel says there’s a performance that’s even worse: Knebworth
Oasis caused mischief, but RATM caused chaos without having to do very much at all.
It’s probably my favourite performance from them, they definitely did worse shows when Liams voice was fucked.
It's not even that bad... Noel just loves playing up to it and creating big myths
Live FOREVER sounds good
Why noone ever mentions Colombia, the greatest song ever is a huge tragedy for life worldwide
Did you ever see them live? How were they?
July 31st 2001 - they looked absolutely knackered, and they sounded like the best band in the world.

I seen them before all the hype back at Gleneagles golf course in 94. They were untouchable back then. Liams singing was superb.

Far from the worst performance. Was dope in fact.

How did Blur win? Pretty sure oasis outsold blur by millions when it was all said and done. One single from blur beat out oasis one time
