There's just something so nostalgic and magical seeing sorcerer Mickey illuminate the ears of the WDW water tower while on top of Spaceship Earth. Then the orchestra hits as the camera zooms into MGM Studios with Mickey in the editor's chair. Disney never skimped on anything - even their promotional bumpers were a cinematic experience!
Happy 36th Anniversary, The Magical World of Disney (1989-2024) The anthology series first aired on NBC in the late 80s long before Disney Channel took over.
My first time seeing this intro as a kid was amazing. I was so hyped. The feature, though?.... Return to Oz! Let's just say nothing was the same thereafter.
This version of the intro was also used on Disney Channel until the mid 1990s brings back memories as a kid whenever I watched this on NBC or Disney Channel plus they included in the intro footage of Tokyo Disneyland in Japan, Epcot at Disney World in Orlando a place I had not been to in over 20 years.
I kind of wish they would add these to Disney+. All the different versions. One chosen at random when you select a movie. Same for the old blue castle logo and the Disney Home Video one too. For any one that wouldn't want to sit through them. Make it an option that can be toggled or just skipped.

I still get chills, miss the 80s so much.
I had an old VHS tape I used to watch a lot back in the day that contained a showing of Ernest Goes to Camp with that intro. Good times.

Oh man this brings back so many memories
A time when Disney was magical, and for all ages. That Disney is just a memory.
Nowadays, Disney is just a cash in.
I missed those days 😭😭😭
What is it now?

0:49 the late Jim Varney as Ernest falling on the ladder
My friend WordGirl would love this because she likes anything to do with magic
This used "The Disney Sunday Movie" from ABC, by the way.
