What you are speaking about is very difficult . To see ourselves is hard . I have begun to see it thru the 12 steps of aa. To quote Richard Rohr ,” we are all addicted to our own way of thinking “

I read your book yesterday. Great book. Thank you for writing it. Reminded me of myself in many ways. Former stockbroker - I did do my MBA though.

My son signed a plea agreement for 10 years. The charge and all the add on included totaled 21years. You either take 10 or 21 that’s it. He is not white collar. State would have given him a max of 3 years. Prosecutors what to move up and even become politicians . The Federal system is brutal and sentences are ridiculous. Mandatory Minimum sentences and no parole. Federal legal system and incarceration is a big business.

The US legal system is broken and cruel.
Because people keep voting unfair, cruel, selfish politicians into power because of some stupid culture war, misinformation or religion.
Inequality, unfairness and injustice are the goal of too many.
But there are also sociopaths and psychopaths who do not care and will do anything they think they can get away with. Criminals and politicians.

I don't get it. So he could have took a plea deal for 10 years or fight it and then he could up getting 21 years and so he decided to fight it and then he ended up getting the 21 years instead of something?? And then what do you mean by the state would have given him a max of 3 years?? What happened with that and why didn't he just take the 3 years.

@@mojojojo6400 sorry for miscommunication. He took 10. My point is you take this or we really screw you.

@@mojojojo6400 i think what they are saying is if the state was prosecuting for the same charges it would have been 3 years. They are also contrasting the options If you dont feel the time doesnt fit the crime. Plea for 10 years or fight and possibly get 21 years.
