IN the nursing home I am living in I can see that form called Residents Rights on the wall. But I am confused by this form because many of those points are not being followed by the staff. I called an ombudsman. She came to speak to me, but only mentioned helping me to find another nursing home. I told her I was not regarded as being worthy of respect at this nursing home because of the way the director treated me when she wanted me to move to another room. I was not told about all those forms you are talking about. I had lived in two separate rooms before. The staff had moved me without any warning at all. The third room I was in I liked a lot and wanted to stay. None of them cared, especially the director. Since the ombudsman doesn't seem to care, what difference does it make that I call anyone at all?
I haven't been allowed to choose. I haven't been given a dignified existence. This nursing home is not home. They have me stuffed in a small bedroom with another female. There is one very small bathroom for both of us. It is not big enough for the wheelchairs that we have. I am fully informed about nothing and certainly don't have privacy.
