I bought this compressor back in 2014 . Ten years later it’s working super well. Highly recommended !!!

I have learned you only sell high quality products. I’m still thrilled with the paint depth gauge I bought when it first came out. I also love my electric sprayer from CSW.
The tip on running the fresh engine with no load touches on an old racing secret back in the 90’s. It would not hurt one bit to run the engine a second time after allowing the engine to cool. I do have a question about draining the old engine oil? Is there a drain plug where gravity can let the oil drain? Finally I cannot wait to see the final set up with installing the air system in the garage.

I have a Quincy GT-54 compressor. Those smaller units like in the video are sold under several other brand names. They are the same rebranded compressor with a different paint job. But still are pretty good light duty home garage compressors.

I noticed this is rated at 19 amps. Did this trip your breaker often? Will it do fine on a standard 120V outlet?

Can the motor on the Quincy be converted to 220V? The specs say the max draw is 19 amps and the suggestion is to use 20 amp CB. Unfortunately, a regular 15 amp circuit is not suitable for a 20 amp breaker since the wire gauge is not appropriate. A normal 15 amp outlet is not suitable for 20 amps either in my opinion. It would be helpful to know if motor can be changed over to run on 220? . This Quincy seems like a good replacement but just wondering if I have to rewire my garage to use it? It sounds pretty quiet.

12 gauge copper Romex would be needed for that circuit

@@turbodog99 I have a 220V outlet with 12 gauge wiring. My adjacent 15amp 120 outlet is 14 gauge. I guess I could convert the 220v outlet to 20amp 120. Just curious of motor had additional terminals to convert to 220?

Quincy seems to be trash these days. Bought 2 dryers and both had issues within the 1st year. Quincy isn't what they used to be.

Insert Jesus Christ meme. 😂 That compressor is badass, I love that it’s stationed out of Texas. It seems hard to find a price without giving contact info. But that thing is SOOO quiet !

I am suffering with a two gallon pancake compressor that is about as loud as that craftsman. Got it around a hundred several years ago. Price for most, and will it do the bare minimum of what I need done has to come way before things like how quiet it is. Those things would have to wait till winning the lottery.

That craftsman has internal issues and is very old thats why it's so loud... I have that exact craftsman and its quiet. Its 30 years old and never had a problem.. And it beats that quincy hands down. You comparing apples to oranges.. that quincy doesn't have half the motor as the craftsman. It has a rubber band motor to say the least. You obviously endorse the company...

I have a smaller Craftsman just like that one. It's just as loud and moves along the floor while running. Is it worth the money and time to try to rebuild it with the chance that it still sounds like that or find a quieter one?
My neighbor has a stand up Craftsman as well (once again, smaller one). It is just as loud as mine. So, is he disingenuous or do the Craftsman compressors just sound like that?
With what I've witnessed, I'd say they are just loud.

I rebuilt my Craftsman piston assembly and it’s still insanely loud! It’s 26 years old and still works. I put a new pressure switch and gauges on it…
