As a 14 year old jazz lover, I use to listen to Sid McCoy on WCFL in Chicago 1955 ... Sinatra's Wee Small Hours was Sid's sign-off song...... so I heard it every night from the mid fifties ..... I even wrote a short love story that featured this song. Thanks for the wonderful lesson.
Lovely; brings to mind my first FSAF Cabaret Class, in which you helped Sarah S. find the heart of this song. Her performance was stunningly quiet and powerful.
Beautiful song and especially beautiful lyrics. I just listened to Frank singing this on RUclips. I've always thought Frank was overrated as a singer compared to other jazz singers of his time (Mel Torme, Sammy Davis, Tony Bennett) but Frank had his moments and this was one of them. Very nice playing, Ron!
@@rondrotoskeyboardimprov9453 Listened to some, and I think he was better when he was younger but I guess I'm just not a big Sinatra fan, but I do like the quality of his voice and his phrasing. He and Antonio Jobim made a beautiful album together that you might enjoy, "Change Partners" being one of the best on the album, the wonderful song by Irving Berlin. Jobim's incredible arrangements would make anybody sound good!
@@pamtebelman2321 Yeah, not everyone loves Sinatra and that's what makes us all unique, right? The Jobim album is wonderful. I knew the guy who sang the vocal parts during their rehearsals, before Sinatra got there. He was an American living in Brazil.

Welcome aboard, Jeff!
wouahhh!!! LOVE-IT!!!
Thanks Cosmo!
Simply beautiful
Beautiful and sensitive playing. Thank you, Ron. You let your fingers sing, in the way that Dexter could sing on his tenor. Highest compliments🌹🌹🌹😎
Thanks a beautiful thing to say, Brenda! I'll never forget Dexter playing ballads in the movie Round Midnight.
Lovely. And with improvisations I could actually understand.....all of them staying so true to the tune and the mood.
Thanks Larry :)

@@pamtebelman2321 It definitely was!
Would you happen to have a transcription of your version (music sheet)? It is beautiful and so original. Thank you.
