Love love love her! Maia is everything wonderful for 'The Rose' I have never seen her. She is lovely in all the sense and she does have a Fonteyn youth. 🌹
OMG She's one of the best Aurora if not the best I've ever seen !!! Such soft tender touch of sweet youthfulness yet with steely technic to support every move she makes. And her BALANCE is a class of its own. I didn't even know her till yesterday when YT recommended her DQ with Simikin which was a dinamite. Thank you YT for enlighten me for yet more wonderful dancer of the world of ballet.
YT recommended that same video (DQ PDD) to me as well! I didn't know who she was either, but I'll be looking up all of her performances now for sure. What a lovely dancer! She was such a strong and sexy Kitri, but she's also a convincing, youthful, sweet Aurora. Beautiful line and feet.
+thesleepingsoter actually there is a famous obelisk on Dam square in Amsterdam too, and it may be an inspiration for this scene. Dutch baroque architecture is also more minimalistic compared to the Italian style, and often features dark colors. I am not sure but I think this scenery takes inspiration from the Dutch baroque, also note the brown colors and the decoration in front of the obelisk. :)
