You have to have danced this ballet to truly understand and appreciate it. It is an absolute land mine of potential errors yet the most extraordinary experience on stage. What’s asked of the corps with relation to technical prowess, timing, spacing and physical demand is off the charts. These guys did a great job. Those double tours at the end…. Had to really dig deep to find the energy and the guys slayed em!

Yes, Mazzo ( always so beautiful) is more vulnerable and even in the original day, Martins was known to be domineering a bit cold. 0:04 But the timing is different in this version. I didn’t want to like this version, but, I like this as well. It is a classic, with lots of great versions to come in the future. So glad I saw it in original version and so glad it survives in this day.

i keep running into videos from this company, and I didn't really know where they were located. This video, which was so beautiful, made me search. This was a fabulous production, and a glorious company. I now know to always follow and honor the Dutch National Ballet/Het Nationale Ballet. They are really good.

This is one of the better versions l've seen done. l sure WISH it was easier to see! The contrast on the white against blue gives little depth. lts like watching silhouettes. Being that the first version of this dance l ever saw was of Gelsey, and Mikhail, l've been spoiled by that phenomenal performance. The orchestra was also the best in my opinion also. Thank You uploader, :)

Why is everything in the most boring shades of beige? And why does the backdrop look like Vesuvius erupting? Yuck...wasting a beautiful dancer with a background that is both unappetizing and boring.

Not sure about the choreography, but the dancers are beautiful.

She is cute, but seems to lack the aura of recklessness and amused daring that makes this ballet so much fun to watch. I think (technique-wise) he has better training and it's a shame that his solos were what they decided to cut out. All in all (or at least the 'all' presented here), this was enjoyable and I hope they continue to develop their talent.

Excellent!! Obviously no one will ever come close to Patricia Mcbride, but this was so joyful and fun to watch, wish I could see the whole thing. She is absolutely wonderful, bravo!!
