When you painted the tool after it was baked, you said you had to use the permanent marker because it won't hold paint and it's to hard to paint, but then after it was baked you painted it, why.
OMG! This little guy is so adorable! I'm obsessed with gnomes! I just posted a St. Patrick's Day leprechaun gnome video yesterday! I can't get enough of them!🥰 I just love your idea of making him a mechanic!🔧The rag in the back pocket is a must! That's how you know he's a real mechanic!❤Thank you so much for sharing!
Patty- I know I have said this before but it deserves repeating-your tutorial are fabulous, your instructions are so easy to understand, and the video, wow, what can I say- wonderful. Thank you
Absolutely adorable!!! A cute Lil mechanic. I LOVE your attention to detail , love the hands, the tools..hands seems to me keeps them looking real, the bead hands are ok, but I just love hands, I really love how you keep everything proportional..the size actually matters..some people can't do that..those muscle tho!! OMG how cute!!
This gnome is so amazing. The details are phenomenal. I don't know if you have a store or a booth, but I know all of your gnomes would sell like hotcakes. This goes perfect with the toolbox. Thank you for sharing. God Bless.
Thank you so much Pamela. I really appreciate the nice comment. I only have an Etsy store where I just sell the one I make each week on, or I give them to friends. I wish I had more time to make multiple.
Oh my goodness!!! He is sooooo cute!! My brother in law has a auto and body shop and I was wondering how to make him a gnome for his shop and Now I can! Thank You! thank You! so very much!! Hugs from Ephrata,Pa.😘😘😘
Thank you sooooo much for your free pattern. you are awesome. You making him makes it look so easy to make....I am going to TRY to make him, He is soooo cute,
hi Patty. Awesome mechanic gnome! Getting ready to make it. Finally back to gnome making just finished my New Year's fella. Been busy learning how to use my explorer Air 2 thank you so much for suggesting it it's awesome. Thank you so much for all the wonderful videos lately that I haven't been able to comment on. Thank you so much for your wonderful talent for sharing your videos and patterns. You're a sweetheart thank you so much for all you do for us! Linda
Another winner Patti! I just love these customized gnomes. Have you ever done a bald guy ... I want to make an accountant lol. What about a basketball player other sports theme. You are just so darn creative and an inspiration.
Thank you Karey. I have not done a bald guy. I do have a baseball player on my list for this year. I will have to add all of those to my list. Thanks, Patti
Hi Patti can you show to make a train conductor gnome would like to know how to make one love trains they remind me of my grandfather who built railroad tracks. You are awesome love all your gnomes. that you make God bless
Oh my goodness!!! He is beyond awesome 👌 👏 👍 😍. I just love him!! ❤️. Just way too cute. He needs a little grease. Lol. Actually sitting here thinking of what to use to grease him up a little bit. 🤔 Is the fabric for his clothes cotton? I love how you are educating on something new again. Never heard of the shrink stuff. Really excited to try it. I was surprised no Easter stuff. I did do some of the bunnies you had last year. Take care my dear. I can tell this is going to be a extremely creative year!!
Thank you so much. My husband said it needed grease too, but I was scared to add it. Wasn't sure what to use. Yes, it is cotton fabric. I got some Easter ones coming. Have a great week.
I love him! Would it be alright if I changed the fabric of his outfit? My husband is an engine mechanic for a major airline and I'd like to make one up for him to look like him. Do you have any military ones you've done in the past? My son is in the Air Force and deploying in a few weeks and I'd like to make one for him while he's over there. Thank you for all you do for us Patti. You're such a kind person with a big heart. Have a great week. Pattie
Thanks Pattie. You can use what ever fabric you want. I have done a tactical gnome ruclips.net/video/XVW7tr0MEs8/видео.html I will be doint an Air Force gnome this year, I have had a lot of requests for that one. You have an awesome week too. Thanks, Patti
Thank you so much for revising the SVG File of the tool box to be cut with my cricut machine is there anyway to revise the mechanic gnome to go with it as well? Thanks again! Love making your gnome projects!
I am sorry, but I did not create an svg file for the mechanic. The mechanic pattern is cut out by hand only. If you have the software Inkscape, I think you can convert it in there. If you don't have Inkscape, you should download it, it's free and it's great to create patterns for Cricut.
You are so clever I have made your santa and I have made your nut cracker I'm so in love with them both . Are you able to make a Royal guard ( they guard Buckingham palace in London) or any from peeky blinders thank you for your tutorials I love watching them
Since I don't know a thing about the shrinky dinks can you use crystal clear? I can only find it in frosted or crystal clear. I looked on Amazon and they are out of bright white. Any help would be great. Thank you
You really don't have to drill completely straight. If you drill two corks to put together, just once you put them through the dowel stick, just turn them until they line up. Mine are not straight either.
Hey Patti, I wanted to ask you if that fabric is this year or older? My JoAnnes didn't have anything close to it. There is another JoAnnes I can look for it. They have a larger fabric section. Thank you
It is a pool noodle from Dollar Tree. It measures 2 1/4" diameter by 4.50" long. If you get pipe insulation at the hardware store, it is close in size.
I absolutely adore your gnomes, I've tried to import the mechanic svg into my cricut buts its comes up with a saying: "The uploaded SVG is not supported as it contains items that are not supported : text elements". Have you any idea how to get around this? It asks if you want to import anyway but when I say yes it does nothing! I have the Maker. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Strangly enough the Safari pattern imported just perfectly but the mechanic and fire fighter are giving me this error. Thank you :)
@@carolinediffley9763 It's because it has words on the page. You can just click import anyway and remove the words in Cricut. That's what I do. If I get some time this weekend I will look at it. Thanks, Patti.
Thanks Christine. Yes, here is the pattern bit.ly/34oyQya. If you don't see my patterns under the description of each of my videos, you can always download all of them on my website www.pattijgood.com. It is probably easier since all mobile devices don't show all of the links. You stay safe also. Thanks, Patti
Thank you Mirna. I have not done an angel gnome yet. I have the supplies because I was going to make one at Christmas, but time got away from me. I will do one this year. Thanks, Patti
Thanks Laurie. You can see all of my patterns on my website with a complete supply list. Here is the link to this one. pattijgood.com/2022/03/09/diy-vintage-mechanic-gnome-tutorial/ Thanks, Patti
Well, I have been thinking about that. I would probably start with a clear ornament for the head, and attach the beard and nose to the inside. I'm still thinking this one through. I will put it on my list to make. Thanks, Patti
When you painted the tool after it was baked, you said you had to use the permanent marker because it won't hold paint and it's to hard to paint, but then after it was baked you painted it, why.
If you don't paint it first with the marker, the paint will not stick to it later. The marker primes it.

I would love to see a Florence Nightingale gnome with a Dr, at her side reading a patient's chart.
I will add that one to my list. That is a good one. Thanks, Patti
You are amazing. Love all your crafts. Hi from Lutz Florida USA

Good instruction video. If you can find a small pickaxe and lantern they would make cute miners.

Love doing gnomes wondering if you could tell me where to get the foam tubes from and what diameter they are.
Thanks you Thelma. I am using a pool noodle that I purchased at Dollar Tree. 2.25" diameter and 4.25" long.
Love it he's so cute xx
Brilliant 👏 👏 👏
You are so clever I have made your santa and I have made your nut cracker I'm so in love with them both . Are you able to make a Royal guard ( they guard Buckingham palace in London) or any from peeky blinders thank you for your tutorials I love watching them
Yes,I'd LOVE to see a palace guard as well!!

Since I don't know a thing about the shrinky dinks can you use crystal clear? I can only find it in frosted or crystal clear. I looked on Amazon and they are out of bright white. Any help would be great. Thank you
I'm sure you can. Make sure you use a marker on it first or you can't paint it. The marker creates a primer so after it bakes you can paint it.
Love love love
Great job 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you Veronica.
Have a hard time drilling straight thru corks. Any suggestions.
You really don't have to drill completely straight. If you drill two corks to put together, just once you put them through the dowel stick, just turn them until they line up. Mine are not straight either.
Is there a supply list with maybe patterns for pants.

what glue stick are you using??
I use these glue sticks. They are the best I have every used, and I have used a lot of brands. amzn.to/37jMIYF

How would you make an astronaut gnome??
Well, I have been thinking about that. I would probably start with a clear ornament for the head, and attach the beard and nose to the inside. I'm still thinking this one through. I will put it on my list to make. Thanks, Patti
Have you every made a construction worker gnome. I have a friend that wants one
I have not made one, but plan to this year.
Sounds good.
