    When you painted the tool after it was baked, you said you had to use the permanent marker because it won't hold paint and it's to hard to paint, but then after it was baked you painted it, why.

      If you don't paint it first with the marker, the paint will not stick to it later. The marker primes it.

    Absolutely adorable!!! A cute Lil mechanic. I LOVE your attention to detail , love the hands, the tools..hands seems to me keeps them looking real, the bead hands are ok, but I just love hands, I really love how you keep everything proportional..the size actually matters..some people can't do that..those muscle tho!! OMG how cute!!

    Oh my goodness!!! He is beyond awesome 👌 👏 👍 😍. I just love him!! ❤️. Just way too cute. He needs a little grease. Lol. Actually sitting here thinking of what to use to grease him up a little bit. 🤔 Is the fabric for his clothes cotton? I love how you are educating on something new again. Never heard of the shrink stuff. Really excited to try it. I was surprised no Easter stuff. I did do some of the bunnies you had last year. Take care my dear. I can tell this is going to be a extremely creative year!!

    I love him! Would it be alright if I changed the fabric of his outfit? My husband is an engine mechanic for a major airline and I'd like to make one up for him to look like him. Do you have any military ones you've done in the past? My son is in the Air Force and deploying in a few weeks and I'd like to make one for him while he's over there.     Thank you so much for revising the SVG File of the tool box to be cut with my cricut machine is there anyway to revise the mechanic gnome to go with it as well? Thanks again! Love making your gnome projects!

      I am sorry, but I did not create an svg file for the mechanic. The mechanic pattern is cut out by hand only. If you have the software Inkscape, I think you can convert it in there. If you don't have Inkscape, you should download it, it's free and it's great to create patterns for Cricut.

    Since I don't know a thing about the shrinky dinks can you use crystal clear? I can only find it in frosted or crystal clear. I looked on Amazon and they are out of bright white. Any help would be great. Thank you

      I'm sure you can. Make sure you use a marker on it first or you can't paint it. The marker creates a primer so after it bakes you can paint it.

    Have a hard time drilling straight thru corks. Any suggestions.

      You really don't have to drill completely straight. If you drill two corks to put together, just once you put them through the dowel stick, just turn them until they line up. Mine are not straight either.

      It is a pool noodle from Dollar Tree. It measures 2 1/4" diameter by 4.50" long. If you get pipe insulation at the hardware store, it is close in size.

    I absolutely adore your gnomes, I've tried to import the mechanic svg into my cricut buts its comes up with a saying: "The uploaded SVG is not supported as it contains items that are not supported : text elements". Have you any idea how to get around this? It asks if you want to import anyway but when I say yes it does nothing! I have the Maker. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Strangly enough the Safari pattern imported just perfectly but the mechanic and fire fighter are giving me this error. Thank you :)
