What I like about your tutorials is that you show in each one of them one single trick that makes me learn something new about Inkscape. This time it was all about how to create the effect of transparent reflection using a mask. Well done.
Making an appstore logo for a financial app, thought I'd look for a Nick tutorial on how to draw a 3d coin shape, but of course Nick has a tutorial on EXACTLY what I had in mind! Now I just need to watch this and then integrate it into my design. Nick, you are awesome. Thanks! I would happily pay for a download of all your Inkscape tutorials.
I actually needed to know how to create coins for a mobile game I'm making. Not a pile of them, but this still helps me do what I'm needing. Thanks a lot!
You are really skilled on inkscape 😉 !!! Can you make the Bitcoin logo coin ? It would be interesting, I have no idea how to do the eletric circuit effect at the coin, can you do it pls !?
Hi Mr Nick. i am your student. just wish to know one thing. do you create each graphic in one go or you also stumble upon at times. your frank answer can really motivate us. thanks
It usually takes me several hours to come up with a design idea for a tutorial. Once I know the design, I am usually able to record myself creating the tutorial on the first take without having to re-start over.
Thank you very much for all of you tutorials, I followed this tutorial step by step, But when I tried to make the coin's faded reflection, and after "mask - set", the second group of coins (the expected reflection) disappeared, when I released the mask again the rectangle turned to black without gradient. I tried this process again but I inverted the gradient (Black is up and white is down) and the after (mask- set) step, the coins still itself without any transparency, when I released the mask the rectangle turned to completely white this time. so I think there is a bug with setting a mask via gradient in Inkscape 0.92+, the mask set by one color from the gradient, maybe it is the second color as I noticed. see also: bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/208217

Glad to hear that. Thanks for watching!
Exactly my thought. You get to know a new trick with each additional video. This time it was the partially transparent mask. Great! 🤩🤗
