    So we decided to go visit Scilla, which is known to be the most beautiful town in Italy. At least that was what we had heard before coming to the little town.
    Having looked at few photos of the town online, we weren't entirely sure that it was the most beautiful place in Italy, but we knew it was up there.
    And Scilla truly is a beautiful town. There is so much authenticity and genuine raw beauty, which is hard to compete with in these modern days, as traffic tourism jam is getting worse and worse.
    Of course there were tourists to be found in Scilla, but most of them are Italians who just lay on the beach, which means you get to explore the narrow streets and sea crack views without human pollution.
    And that is what made us fall in love with Scilla. Next time we will be renting an airbnb and stay in this town a few days. Hopefully the airbnb we pointed out actually is an airbnb. That would be awesome! :)

    Have you been to a prettier town in Italy than Scilla 😊🇮🇹? It's probably on our top three with Positano and Matera outranking it. But it's still up there!

    • @tanner293
      @tanner293 5 лет назад

      Positano is the most beautiful in Italy hands down! Scilla is not even the most beutiful in Calabria. Tropea is, have you been there?

    • @joenandamalie
      @joenandamalie  5 лет назад

      Positiano really is! We've been to Tropea. The first time we thought it was beautiful, but the second time it was so crowded that we hated the place! It had gotten ugly in many ways. Such a shame. We think Scilla is more chill although there certainly are tourists as well.

    One offline the best Volg. I think Scilla is unique for its beauty, its history, its sea (best diving in the Mediterranean), its myths (eg, Odyssey chapter 8) its excellent cuisine. For these reasons it is certainly one of the most beautiful places in the Mediterranean.

    I also think a scooter would be a better option to drive in Lisbon, because as you may have already seen there aren't so many parking places, especially in the historical part of the city.
    Keep on with the beautiful vlogs! :)

    Portofino was the prettiest town in Italy for me so far. Like a fairytale land! Why do you prefer Portugal to live over Italy?

    • @joenandamalie
      @joenandamalie  6 лет назад +3

      +Christina Ruberti we haven’t been to Portofino, but eventually we’ll get there 😊. It looks incredible!
      For us Portugal has a bit of everything we are looking for in life. First and foremost we feel that we are on the same wavelength with the people. They are kind and friendly and generally good people. The country also feels free spirited with much less big brother watching you which is what you get in Denmark. And then it’s beautiful with vast amounts of raw nature and tons of beaches and towns to explore.
      Did I mention the climate too? Yeah, Lisbon has 300 days of sunshine, which is about the same we get in Denmark only it’s cloudy. Not sunny 😅.
      Regarding Italy it’s just not a country for us to live in. We’re not fan of the hectic mentality that is shown in traffic and general lack of respect towards strangers. We felt it was too much “me me me”, which affects our mood too much.

      @@joenandamalie it is true, italian cities are not best to live, they are not as modern as in other western countries and this influence the quality of life, like public transports, traffic, cleaning, etc. Also italian society is more conservative and not so ahead in recognition of civil rights
