Carne Asada Fajitas
Recipe by Nathan Lippy
Time: 10 minutes (1 hr marinade time)
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
1, 1 lb. outside skirt steak
3 limes
1 orange
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons chili powder
½ teaspoons smoked paprika
1 red bell pepper, julienne
1 green bell pepper, julienne
1 sweet yellow onion, julienne
3 red jalapeno peppers
1 tablespoon honey
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
Blackstone Tequila Lime Seasoning
½ cup sour cream
1 bunch cilantro
Flour tortillas
Salt & pepper
Olive oil
Directions:
1. In a large resealable plastic bag, add the skirt steak, lime juice, ½ of the orange juice, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika with a pinch of salt and pepper and a bit of olive oil. Seal the bag and toss the steak to evenly coat. Let marinate for 1 hour.
2. Slice the jalapeno and place into a small mixing bowl. Add the red wine vinegar and honey with a pinch of salt and pepper and mix. Allow to sit for 30 minutes.
3. Pre-heat your griddle to medium-high heat. Add a bit of olive oil and the bell peppers and onions. Add a bit of Blackstone Tequila Lime Seasoning over the top and toss to evenly season. Cook for 3-4 minutes then slide to the cooler side of your griddle.
4. Turn your griddle to High Heat. Take the skirt steak out of the marinade and cook on high heat for 2-3 minutes per side. When the steak is 50% finished, add the sliced orange half to caramelize.
5. In a small mixing bowl, add the sour cream and a few tablespoons of the jalapeno honey liquid. Add a few shakes of Blackstone Tequila Lime Seasoning and mix evenly.
6. Once the steak is cooked to the desired doneness, remove it from the griddle and let rest for a few minutes. Slice the skirt steak against the grain into thin strips.

Or egg foo young on the side
Any chance we could see you Griddle up an ox tail? All the other suggestions are great but overdone on you tube
What about a chicken or Turkey smash burgers. Or anything with bacon 🥓 Lol
Making this tonight along with some chicken strips. Green peppers and Jalapenos peppers from my garden.

Ours too. So easy to make and so impressive. Thanks for watching!!👍🏻
The steak looks sooooo good!
It's all bout that 🍊!! The entire family loved it! Thanks!
Thats awesome! Glad to hear that!
We started doing untraditional Christmas meals several years ago. I used this for chicken & steak fajitas for today’s meal. The sour cream sauce and jalapeños were definitely next level!
Wow! Nate not only does this look beautiful the recipe seems so simple, I love all the tips to elevate the flavor. Awesome job I really learned a lot from this one. Can't wait to make this one. Lol corn tortillas still.
Btw I love CJ's show and yours too! You guys are both excellent together, great editing work also!
Thanks for watching Rob!! Nate loves sharing recipes like this to really help people elevate their griddle game!
Never had it like this but will try it next time. The Carne Asada. Thanks for the post.
Interesting that you make the marinade right in the bag. I always made the marinades separately. I also like to add a bit of alcohol, like a good beer, maybe a pilsner. I love the ida of both the lime and the orange. I will be trying this. Thanks for the ideas.
Nathan I agree Corn tortillas are better, when they are heated right. Keep up the great work totally enjoy these vids and recipes.
Nothing beats a fresh made corn tortilla that’s for sure. Have you seen the hybrid corn and flour tortillas?
@@BlackstoneGriddles not yet might have to try them.
I'm planning on purchasing my first blackstone here soon, and have started watching you recently, but I fell in love with the knives you use. Where did you get them?
Awesome recipe
Thanks Vickie!!!
Man, that thing is straight from Flava Town!! So easy, but so much going on and that comment is hilarious!!!!
Love your videos!! Can you do Babyback Ribs on the Blackstone?
Yes , but that knife rho🤤💯🔥
Agreed, where to find one?
Man you guys cook some good food.
Truth.
What about cooking a ribeye on the Blackstone with a garlic and herb compound butter? Love the videos guys keep up the amazing work
Great idea! You may be pleasantly surprised here soon.
@@BlackstoneGriddles standing by to see the video
The 8 thumbs down came from guys who don’t own a blackstone griddle, and there big mad.
Also Bruce Mitchell!!!!
Taco bell chef! Does not even heat up the tortilla!😂
I don't think he would like to hear that! haha!
Dudes! I love you but, You seriously aren't even going to warm those tortillas
It’s already 100 degrees in Florida, they were plenty warm I’m sure! Lol
Hmmmm... Sorry Nate, but Mike’s right. Hit that tortilla on the griddle for a few beats 😋😋😋
@@BlackstoneGriddles booyah!
Nope... not even a little bit🤣😂🤣 for fajitas I never toast my tortillas. Rick is right, they had been out in the Florida sun for the whole video and were plenty soft.
I just can't seem to get my skirt steak to out decent. It's just waaaay too chewy.
I cannot believe you do not put the tortillas on the griddle! Who eats a cold tortilla?
Apparently Nate!
Want to see Nate cook, you learn more, infact I think you should get rid of the movie tie-ins. Let that be CJ's thing. Nate just go back to the way you used to cook. You're show is much better than Todd Toven too!!
Noted!
Todd Who?
So far I noticed you guys don't warm up your floor tortillas before you use them to wrap your food. Guys embrace the heat warm those tortillas up.
Love all the yuck yucks fellas.
Thanks for watching Gary!! Glad you you like the show.
Gringo tacos. At least toast the tortillas on the blackstone. Corn, not flour
Dude. That knife is dull as hell! Sharpen that bad boy! Watching you saw the shit out of that steak was pure cringe!
Host thinks he's the show. It should be about the cook on the griddle. Todd is better.
Plenty of Blackstone shows to choose from my friend. Thanks for watching!!
