The American Revolution is just as relevant now as it was in 1775. In this video, we cover the Sons of Liberty, the Gadsden Flag, and the Pine Tree Flag, or Appeal to Heaven Flag common during the times of the Founding Fathers. We also discuss John Locke and his 2nd Treatise on Government.

Ricky, personally I am tired of hearing about these God given rights. Name one God given right that is in the constitution? Did God have an AR-15, did the writers of the constitution have an AR-15, did Thomas Jefferson own an AR-15? No, then what gun rights did God give us? Where are those rights written... I want to read them?

@@johninokla2635 You Really need to look up the definition of the word "Unalienable". You can play semantics all you want. It's a moot point. And if you choose to make the Absurd argument that the framers of the Bill or Rights Did not own "AR-15's. And therefore the 2nd Amendment dose not Apply. Well news flash scooter none of them had Smartphones or Computers. So by your twisted logic. The 1st Amendment should not apply to those either.

@@paulebelmesser2699 , Everyone does the Smartphone or computer thing when talking about the Bill of Rights. I never said anything about the 2nd not applying. I was making the point that there are no God given rights written in the constitution. Any right written in the constitution or Bill of Rights was given to us by the writers of the constitution. Now show me where any of the rights written in the constitution were God given and where they are written. Maybe they were in the commandments Moses destroyed, but I doubt it.

The Pine Tree Flag has always been one of my favorites, and has a history. It references naval ship building in upper New England. White Pines were favored for their strength; and since they were desirable, the crown claimed rights to all the best specimens. These were marked with a broad arrow symbol, and were only allowed to be taken by the crowns agents. There is a great history of resistance in New England where the marked trees were taken and used by the colonists, and broad arrow markings placed on lesser trees. It was probably more important to the colonists than the tax on tea, but is less known in American history.

Mr. Henrichs I want to thank you sir. It is very refreshing to see that there are still people with a higher education that understand history and how it relates to the present as well as the future. I have a bachelors degree in political science and even though I went to a conservative college I still encountered many people how seem to either ignore or misunderstand what this country was founded on.
Many of us agree that we have lost many rights and it looks as though we will certainly continue to loose more. To me the real question in front of us is when is enough enough? There obviously was a breaking point back in the 1770s that certainly did not exist in a vacuum. Many things happened leading up to the American War for Independence and the colonist has been loosing rights for the years. How does one decide when it is time to take drastic action?

    Reid,
I have been following your videos for a few years now and I do appreciate these kind as well as the training ones, however, these videos about our founding history take a special place in my heart. For 22 years (active duty) I served as an Army airborne paratrooper and grunt. I retired in 2009 and became an Army JROTC instructor in eastern Kentucky high school; in a very rural and poor county. After a year of doing this duty ( I am still doing it and find it very rewarding, however, my true love has always been law enforcement. I have attended and graduated from Pikes Peak Regional Law Enforcement Academy in 1998 on a re-enlistment option, but the Army dangled a career enhancing duty in front of me and I became a drill sergeant) I realized how little I knew about our Constitution. We have a book that we use to teach American government, our founding and civics. It's titled "Citizenship in American history and government. That did it! I started reading it and had more questions than answers. Then I came upon your video,"A Republic, if you can keep it!" I was totally "all in" and started adding much of what you, WallBuilders, and Pastor Dan Fisher's video here on youtube titled, "Brining back the Black Robed Regiment" I share all of this with my cadets, with a passion as well.
I just want to thank you for that. I have noticed, however, that you took down your video, "A Republic, if you can keep it!" or someone has and was wanting to know if you still have an outline of that class. I would LOVE to use it for my class as well as maybe teach others about this.
Anyhow, you keep up the good work and maybe one day I can make it down to Tennessee and get some "group therapy" going with you!
Until then, take care and God Bless!
    Sincerely,
    Thunder 7
(That was my call sign as a platoon sergeant)

There are times when I don’t think we have what it takes anymore. But, there are occasions and events that make me think twice about my previous statement. The confrontation between citizens, some of whom were armed, and Federal officials at the Bundy Ranch incident. I suspect the watershed moment will be when the cowardly, seditious socialists decide to neuter the second amendment and confiscate assault weapons and other firearms. When that day comes, I hope there will be a sufficient number of red-blooded patriots that stand up and make the socialists pay the price.

These are brushed over in history classes in Texas today because students have to be prepared for a standardized test. Ironically, that test is produced by a British based company. I can tell you, from years of personal experience dealing with said company reps, they are arrogant and refuse to include such materials. They also mass produce American History textbooks for high schoolers. Outstanding job Reid.
