  • When you ask enough questions and run enough tests, it's clear that Evans coolant is the best coolant on the market.

    I was considering Evans for a Jag XF or XJ, both of which suffer from coolant pipe cracks leading to overheating. My theory is that less pressure = longer lifespan of components. But I mostly see people using Evans on older / classic engines, is it well suited for modern engines with tighter tolerances?

    If you REMOVE more heat from the metal, the metal temperature gets lower. A 50/50 ethylene glycol blend with a 20 psi rad cap has a boiling point of 282.8F, BUT the pressure is higher as the coolant goes through the restriction that is the heads' coolant passages so the local boiling point is higher still.
    If the coolant runs appropriately fast, it keeps pulling away enough heat to stop localized boiling.
    No OEM and no race series runs the 100% Propylene Glycol that is Evans coolant for every good reasons.
    Evans coolant is a tax for people who are bad at physics. If you REALLY want to run 100% Propylene glycol in your engine, then go buy it, but there's no need to pay Evans $200 for it. Once your engine starts overheating and you realize you fell for the scam, you might be willing to realize it and cut your losses and go back to a normal OEM-style cooling mix.

      The only people I’ve ever met that are against Evans are people that haven’t tried it.
      And the primary ingredient is Ethylene Glycol. Substantial difference.

      @@ChuckfromTrueTech And every professional engine builder, engineers of all types, people who have used it and encountered it’s many faults but are self reflective enough to admit they made a mistake and literally bought a lie.

      Chuck you’re wrong primary ingredient in Evans is propylene glycol.

    Main reason I switched to evans was to keep the waterpump on my old ktm from rotting since its made of magnesium

    The coolant is pulling more heat to it and keepong the cylinder cool😊

    Where do you get your Evans in Canada?
    Last time I had to source from a small aircraft distributor.

      Splash n Dirt is the distributor. I’ve seen it at Lordco on the west coast too. Or on my shelf.

    Boiling point is relevant to pressure

    • @ChuckfromTrueTech
      @ChuckfromTrueTech  5 месяцев назад +1

      Correct, which is why regular coolant can reach 260 before boiling.

    How is that compared to engine ice?

    • @ChuckfromTrueTech
      @ChuckfromTrueTech  5 месяцев назад

      Completely different. Engine Ice is half water. The primary benefit is that it’s non-toxic.

      Can’t use it on a road track. Glycol is slippery.
