KimVaz's Hello. If you want to play this "Superman" song with electone next time, please play in another version. Open RUclips and try searching for "Superman Theme John Williams Extended Version". When I play it, the part connecting from the intro to this song is more fantastic and more dramatic. I would like to ask KimVaz to play this song with electone. I'm very happy if you can contact me if the videos you play are uploaded to RUclips.
For those of you who may not understand, let me clarify something for you... This performance is done completely LIVE. This is not an organ. It is a full-blown synthesizer, which also has high quality digital samples of actual orchestral instruments as tones. The Electone instruments are set in the configuration of a traditional organ. Research YAMAHA ELECTONE. There is a lot to learn and also thousands of videos on RUclips of people performing on them. There are many models, so you can go back to the 1960's if you want and follow the evolution of the Electone. These instruments are extremely difficult to program and perform on for the novice. The performer we have enjoyed watching and listening to in this video is an exceptional musician who has spent many years of his life to reach this level of mastery. It is 100% guaranteed that he spent thousands of hours of practice. The Yamaha Electone instruments have not been available in North America since the early 1990's but continue to flourish in Asian countries where the attitude towards musical education is taken more seriously. With regard to those who think that this is a pre-recorded performance, I assure you that this performance is done completely LIVE. Nothing is pre-recorded. The instrument has 16 Memory buttons. Within these buttons, the performer can PROGRAM or assign which Tones (Yamaha calls them Voices) they want to whichever of the 3 keyboards they choose, and at what time they choose. The performance itself however is done live.Example: The beginning of a piece may require horns on the Upper keyboard and Strings on the Lower Keyboard and for example, a Rolling Tympani Drum on the Pedals. Those Tone assignments are then assigned to a Memory button (example: Button 1) As the piece progresses, the performer may wish to have Strings on Upper, Trumpets on Lower and Pizicatto Bass on Pedals. This Tone assignment gets set to Memory button 2....and so forth and so on. The actual notes played therefore, are done completely live. The Registration settings only, are pre-programmed in advance. The performer controls the Registration Settings from a foot switch. This is why you are seeing the lights on the dashboard mysteriously change by themselves. The performers Right Foot is controlling the Registration changes LIVE. What you are witnessing therefore, is a LIVE performance. The Electone instruments are almost unheard of now in North America sadly, and this is why lack of exposure is what makes these performances very confusing for some to watch. I hope this clarifies things for everyone. Here is another video that may serve as an example of how this piece is performed by a younger student:ruclips.net/video/1m5PS5lFZ3g/видео.html Thank you Kim Vaz for a wonderful performance !
Mostly correct. The drums are pre-recorded (or sequenced). This unit, if you look to the far right of the lower keyboard, is a 3.5" floppy drive for recording performances and sequences. A midi sequence takes up very little room, so a small floppy is enough to hold even a few songs. Not denying that most of it is live. There is a counter on the left side of the upper keyboard that is running after the intro (you can see it going 1,2,3,4,2,2,3,4 and so on). Can't do something this complex without some help. Drums often sequenced a lot. The video link you posted also shows the same. That unit has a USB port for a thumb drive to record sequences as well. Best cover of this theme I've heard so far, though.
It is an Organ actually. It is the Yamaha Electone EL-90 Model which has a built-in synthesizer and sequencer and If I am correct then probably you can even program your own drums pattern there and just play it from there. Yamaha makes a lot of stuff in Japan and they even make their own chips to create the voices as similar as to the real Orchestra even though that organ is an old model!!! The floppy disk unit just provides the interface to store/read data from the memory floppy disk.
Hello everyone, thank you very much for your complements. Work has finally caught up with me. Not to worry, I'm still just as passionate as before in uploading more vids and I'll be uploading a new one very soon. You can look me up on twitter by my user iamkimvaz. See you there!
Superman. The Greatest Superhero of all time! The man of steel is and always will be my favorite superhero. Supes has forever been my hero. Ever since I was a 3 year old kid.
He plays so well it sounds like the live orchestra rendition. This guy's talented and that synthesiser sounds incredible! This is hands down the best rendition I've heard other then the real live orchestra version. I hope this gent posts more as he is very talented. 👍👍
This is so unreal. If I hadn't seen it I wouldn't believe such an instrument exists and then there's someone who can play this so well. Wow. I am in awe of this.
Hearing this makes me glad I never decided to become a musician. Don't think I would've ever reached that level of epicness no matter how hard I tried! Great job dude!

@@salsatimeband3075 no it is not just an Organ.
@@patriciaj1291 let’s put it this way: it is a very advanced Organ and it’s not hard to program!
It sounds like a whole orchestra! It's awesome! You are talented!
Amazing! It's stuff like this that makes me wish I had 1% of the talent other people possess.

Fantastic performance!! Far better than Georgio Moroder's attempt on the Superman III soundtrack.
