Is it really worth the bother of turning up at an auction just to get £13 more than you were offered before? Luck of the day's auction, but I would have taken the dealer's £200 for the bull, which was the equivalent of approaching £250 at an auction.
Of course it is. Most of these people need a bit excitement in their life and a day out going to an auction, maybe for the first time, many says so, and maybe even get some complimentary lunch sound smashing to me. Even if you get less money you get an nice experience.

Dealers are clearly pushed too hard on certain items when they're paying over the estimate only to end up being unable to sell the items.
Tim in particular does not know how to say no. I wonder how he makes a living.

No, and in such instances David should award the real deal to the dealers.
