    除了第一張卡片get不到笑點,其他都超好笑! 個人認為這些英式幽默在台灣會被當成講話很靠北,但我身邊真的就有類似很幽默的朋友,所以對話都超好笑又開心也不會冒犯到他人,幽默感真的讓生活變得很不一樣😄😄😄😄

    I actually LOVE British Humor, especially Ricky Gervais.
    Also, some of my All-Time Favorite TV Shows/Series are British Comedy Shows/Series. For instance, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Mr. Bean, Red Dwarf, Keeping Up Appearances, The IT Crowd, Black Books, Monty Python’s Flying Circus, etc.

      讓我試試看解答:“Arbitrarily”意思是說徒具型式、毫無意義地。
      每年的生日、紀念日,對於某些不常過紀念日的人們來說,覺得多餘。
      因此如果送祝福的人是這麼想的話,也猜測對方(感情很好的朋友)平常也會抱怨儀式感很虛浮的話。 那麼雙方之間的默契(共同靠*一件事)就變成能夠展現彼此友誼親密感的方式。

    謝謝舒萱老師。另外我對第一張卡片的理解有些不同。第一個人我感覺是在品酒而不是點酒,他是在說自己在從酒裡品出了這些芬芳和味道。這和第二個人的對比就更為鮮明。一個是要炫耀自己的品味,甚至有些 pretentious,而另一個只為喝個酩酊大醉而已。

    超愛許多英國劇的, Yes, Minister / Yes, Prime Minister / Doctoer WHO ( yea I'm Whovians) / Monty Python's Flying Circus (S1 to S4) / The IT Crowd / 還有一部老師教英文的,裡面都是一群天兵的外國人,非常逗的和家歡喜劇。(查到了 Mind Your Language!)
    太多好看的劇集,還有演員!!!
    一開始不覺得英國腔好聽,因為從小都聽美腔,但聽久現在反而覺得美國腔很 boring。
    很羨慕系上其它同學留英的,可以聊英國各地腔調差別什麼的,但我聽力沒多好,
    澳洲腔跟英國腔我都沒分不出來了,各何況是分辨地方腔音。
    David Tennant、Peter Capaldi 他們都是 Scottland,但我只聽得出一丟丟不同於傳統英腔。
    我愛死 Docter Who ( 2005 ver., S1~S14)!
    愛死 Monty Python 他們穿著女裝,講著奇怪的話,一本正經地在亂演。對我而言,港式無俚頭我能在 Monty Python 表演中找到不少影子與傳繼。
    Little British 也滿不錯的。
    我愛死 BBC 了

    I was wondering if your father's joke was also about her mother attending her own funeral I just recently went to Kingston for the first time, and went into one of these card shops for the first time, and the humor on the cards was so interesting.

    Great video, love how you elaborate with good examples. Tbh lived in many english speaking countries..yet still cant get british humor.😂
    I always feel this type of humor could be the causes of avoidable conflict or unecessary mental stress for others. My belief is deep down human nature craving for nice things/words in general ...life is harsh enough. As a chinese proverb goes: there is often truth in a joke

    Thank you for another great video. BTW, it's usually pronounced "阿罵ㄇㄚˋ" for the grandma. "阿媽ㄇㄚ" sounds more like mother to me personally.

    hi susie,
    i was sufferring about the pronuciation of the word “here” , mostly it pronuce “hear” , but at 4:11” it sounds like “hair” .
    is it also common to pronuce “hair “ in the sentence? my younger told me that she never heard to pronuce as hear, is my ear has problem?

    1. 我覺得I'm getting 不是ordering wine啊,他是在品酒,berries oak fruity都是形容酒的氣味/味道的常用字,畫中的男人也在聞那杯酒,不是點酒,所以 I'm getting 是我聞/嚐到了,不是嗎?

      I get your thinking when you read the words and look at the illustration. For me, 'we are getting' in this context (in a pub or bar) could mean 'we are ordering'. The way we use that phrase in Australia is the same as the U.K. But either makes sense.

    我之前 有點很直接的 把英文“so sad" 直譯中文 又是文字輸入 我哥看了後氣炸 打來吼了一小時 他覺得我在瞧不起我家人 ..我覺得我家人不理解我的加拿大幽默 當我回去台灣 逆文化衝擊anti-culture shock會是個問題...

      I would buy it for a good friend who likes their drinks, for an occasion that involves parties and drinks, like birthday, new year, new job, new house etc. The joke is to imply that they are the one who only cares about getting s***face drunk.

    2,3,4,5,7,12的jokes 香港也會有這種一樣或相似,6說到婚禮,香港也會,因為香港人比較實際,有關買卡的 joke,例如 cost of living,我好窮只能買卡給你,這些比較少出現,再窮就是 msg, 也不會買卡😂

      也要看英國什麽地方,大多數英國城市都沒有什麽衝突。倒是有很多支持移民和反右翼的集會,您在哪個城市?老師應該是在布萊頓,周三那裏的所謂動亂,只有五名右翼分子出現,現場倒是有數千民衆聚集呼籲反種族歧視和反極端右翼。
