i truly believe that some of these old Levi Strauss Jeans are out there somewhere especially in Landfills that were thrown away. As a little kid you hear stories about how old men wore their clothing and how old some of their clothes were. In my recollection of stories I do recall some great grandfathers talked about how old some of their clothing was back in the 1800's. Back then clothing was only made to last for soo long and then thrown out. Can you imagine a brand new pair of the original Levi Strauss Jeans in untouched condition. That would be crazy to find if it does ever exist.

Interesting video! It’s funny that Wranglers are the jeans of Cowboys today while Levi’s, though consummate Western apparel, is taken to be city folk clothing.
The dimes were probably melted and the metal sold. What would you do with 2 wagons of dimes? Even with inflasion it is hard to imagine somebody trying to buy anything with just dimes. Will this ever be solved??? I doubt it ever will be. Just my 10 cents worth...........great episode. Thanks. 😎
Losaiko Vote!!! ... the simple fact that none have should Up over the years says they were melted down for the silver value since buying anything of value with dimes would have been a dead giveaway... can't buy a ranch and cattle 🐮 with a bunch of dimes without word getting out but Silver would raise no suspicion.
I was watching this one show and this guy found 12 old levis not all of them where in perfect condition but there was more that where not wear able so even 12 was great and he said they almost all where the 501 he could have faked it cuz he was a collector and seller of old levis but still 12 that's crazy money

In that third story, l got to thinking maybe it were Lyle Taggert of Blazing Saddles who said somebody's got to go back and git a shitload of dahms. Maybe he was behind that heist, before he met Mel Brooks and became a moving picture star. Ain't that the way it happens in showbizness?
The missing dimes: I think it very unlikely all wagons (some say 1, others say 4) and drivers perished at the same time. Probably a couple were in on it with some bandits, and the rest ended up in shallow graves. The reason the dimes were never recovered was likely because they were melted down into silver. As for the gold, it doesn't seem possible they couldn't track where the robbers hid it. A good tracker could go parallel alongside their route and "cut for sign", see where they left it. Or bloodhounds could track lateral movement. Probably the wagon's shotgun rider was in cahoots and suggested an escape route that let him ambush them without his bandit partners know it. He might have even shown them where to hide the loot.
@@rogerturner3847 As the pirate saying goes, four can keep a secret if three are dead. The dimes probably were an accident; there was 1 wagon with a few guards carrying 5000 silver dimes in six barrels. That adds up to $500, hardly seems worth the trouble. I think one wagon getting lost (however that happened) is not unreasonable. But they might not have gotten into circulation if the dimes were melted down. As for the other incident I mentioned, I still think the "guard" was in cahoots and killed his confederates, then came back for the money later where he told them to leave it.
Funky story on Bass; Why steal $60,000 and not spend it? Did nobody coame after him for stealing this huge sum? Maybe thieves back then were no smarter than today?

and the quality of levis has diminished since 2003. I wore them (501) for years. Quit buying just last year! They ruined a good thing
yeah absolutely you rıght man
They are made cheaply now out of inferior material.
There is tons of buried gold and silver all over America
The physical impossibility of loading that weight on a horse, should create implausibility.
Yeah, and I think every state has an unamed civil war battle story where gold payroll was lost.
Cool 👍
silver dimes minted once melted became some AWEsome Silver Jewelry ~

trying to spend the dimes would be suspicious
if stolen they would most likely be melted down and cast into silver bars
then spent or sold
Democrats have been alive and well for a century
i cut up old levi jeans and serge sewed nice quilt
~ lasted another long time now!
$500 was a lot of money in those days.
I would like to take expedition to look for some of that gold
So would I, but it would likely all be confiscated as 'property' of the U.S. Mint.
