When I was a teenager in 1965, a girl in my neighborhood used to drive a white T-Bird just like yours. It belonged to her daddy who was a corporate big shot. She looked so cool in that thing.
Friends say they tried pulling up my channel and they see DEAD CAT RESCUE but not DEAD CAR RESCUE. I have heard that so many times you wouldn’t believe lol. Hey thanks for watching Phil.
Sweet looking car. Saw a '64 T-Bird recently I posted a video about. They have such cool features like the swing away steering wheel and the speedometer. Good luck with her.
I owned one of these in high school in 1968 . Mine was a 1964 but it was full power steering and windows plus power drivers seat . It was yellow . I liked it so much I bought a total of 3 of these 64s . In total 15 Thunderbirds in my life . I went to high school at Nort Little Roch high in Arkansas . Im 72 so older than u . Your Thunderbird is the base model other than the AC option . The windshield wipers are hydraulic powered by the power steering pump . The further u pull the wiper lever the faster it goes . U are missing the ends to the levers for the wipers and washer . To just put some sealant around the areas on the body would not be advised it cheapens the value of the car . That is not chrome moldings around the windows but stainless steel U polish them . A plus u have the original washer bag . Left Arkansas years ago in my youth for sunny California .Lived in Hollywood , CA. Big change from Arkansas ever Little Rock the capitol .Retired now in Yuma , Arizona .
Watching it this morning and I must say that's a cool ride, swing away steering wheel 4 bucket seats. Glad you got rested up enough to get out from underneath it 😅
It really is. Much better than I thought it would be. It’s worth spending some more money on. I’m ordering parts and new tires today to get it back on the road again. Stay tuned for the next video and thanks for watching.
@ My beautiful, older cousin, Frances Evelyn, had one. She got her first T-bird when she graduated high school in 1958. It was red! (My father, her uncle, thought that whole branch of the family was slightly vulgar: red T-birds, her parents drove red Impala Super Sports, and her mother wore too much jewelry. I thought they were just splendiferous.
I bought a '65 Tbird about two years ago and have been working on is slowly I changed the rear springs, the gas tank, and had the dash recovered. Breaks are done, front end has all new bushings. I changed the vacuum hoses and that was not fun. I hope to get the body work done soon. It needs a new vinyl top.
You got that right. This one is a keeper for me. New tires today, all new brake system ordered. There’s a few small brake parts I’m going to have to find because those calipers are weird looking.
Two years ago I bout a 64 thunderbird that was in better shape than this one. It had sat outside under a tree for four years. I worked about 40 hours a week on it for five months. Biggest mistake of my life. The engine besides two stuck valves was good. I replaced or repaired the heater core, the AC compressor, all of the belts, all hoses, power steering pump, alternator, carburetor, fuel pump, water pump, brake vacuum booster, master cylinder, all wheel cylinders, exhaust pipes. all power steering hoses. Patched the trunk floor. Repaired the speedometer. Replaced all of the vacuum lines in the heat and AC system. Repaired both front power windows. Rear windows still inoperable. New tires. It is an endless journey and nothing can be done halfway. Everything is expensive. When you get done even doing all of the work yourself you will have to keep it because it will not sell for half of what you have invested. I am 69 years old and thought it would be a good project. I have resurrected many birds in the last 40 years but I will never buy another project. I would recommend keeping it for a parts car. Once I did get mine up and running and safe to drive the transmission started slipping. At that point I gave up. Edit: forgot the new fuel tank and fuel tan sending unit.
I’m 69 also and it sounds like you bought a nightmare. My wife wants this one so we are keeping it. New carpet, calipers, everything to do with rear brakes ordered also. There’s no bolts for the calipers and a few rear brake items I still need and gotta search for. No big hurry, am searching for a parts car also.
I hope I have the strength to be still doing stuff like this in my 70's lol. Keep kicking butt!! 🤩
You're a lot younger than me, but I appreciate the encouragement!

This is what cars looked like the year I was born, huh? Nice.
Yep back then they were constantly changing cars looks. Today most cars look alike and have no style.
I was 16 years old when that bird was new😊
Dang you’re as old as my brother Bob lol.
@DEADCARRESCUE lol I guess so
I was 16 too! Those 1964-65 T-Birds were my favorite cars back then.

It was made two years before I graduated high school.
Did you know anyone who had one? I didn’t.

They are cool cars. I’m about to do all things Brakes today.
Also if you go to rock auto you can get all the brakes for about 250.00.
Ok thanks.
i was alive in 65 lol
Simple times.
Oh, I was 7 years old when this one was built by the way 😅
Baby boomer like me.
Another mighty Ford v8

U really scored Steve you could probably sell it triple what you paid for it as it sits!
I’m buying parts already. Stay tuned.
U need to oil that Jack it squeaks like a old bed springs lol
I don’t have time lol
Hey I’m interested in this one, might even have something you are interested in. Do some swapping. A little horse trading
I like it so much I just ordered all new brakes, heater core and am going to go price some new tires. This one I’m going to hang onto I think.
Let me know if you’re going to get rid of it
