The BE is capitalized is a reference to the Chinese character for sadness (悲). The end of the bridge, SuA goes: "I don't want to be" (I don't want to be sad)

Well, well, well. Hi there! Dreamcatcher are outdoing themselves here once again. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's adlibs is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done. About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. One commenter noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you". That commenter is Jad Hamizan and he deserves all the credit for noticing that. The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "Your expression is blue, blue. Your face is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. If you want to find a connection to the Dystopia trilogy, you could say that this might be a criticism of overly obsessive fans, who turn to malicious comments and other bad things, but I am not sure about that. In any case, Dreamcatcher are clearly not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects, and they do it masterfully here - again. For me, this is more than just pop, it is art.
it's not related to the nightmare series but there is a lot of inspiration in it from the movie "us"! both in the mv and in the choreo (hwang sooyeon, the choreographer, talked about it). generally a horror theme since during dami's rap part there is even this psycho (movie) sound. the bsides are a lot different, i think it all really fits a summer comeback. my personal fave out of bsides is "a heart of sunflower", but they're all great

It seems like they are grooving a little of that Dark Romanticism. (this shows up in the lyrics when you get to read the translation)

What I believe is that Gayeon (good) and Jiu (bad) are the same person withtwo personalities (like a mirror, there are a lot of mirrors in the MV) In the beginning Gayeon (good) free herself by throwing the cage away and try to overcome Jiu (bad) strangling her... Sua representing temptation (obviously) with an apple... Your mirror images, blue and red (remember Matrix, the blue and red pill?), representing something too, maybe the real and the dream world.. , but in the end Jiu wins, and Gayeon appears in that same room full of chains, her prison, and Jiu with an evil smile - the time is over (the hourglass is empty and Gayeon is back to her prison) (sorry for my english, I'm from Brazil)

Leez and Ollounder are just so consistently good with their production and from how AllDayLong sounds they've done a great job of guiding Jiu into becoming a great composer herself, I'm glad they're by Dreamcatcher's side for all of their releases.
