Interesting detail. The Rafale has a _better_ passive sensor suite than the F-35, as well as a measure of radar and thermal stealth. It should have the advantage when radars are turned off and the name of the game is FLIR / electro-optical.

The 'snorkel' makes debat... At Dassault Aviation, the debat is closed since a while. It's part of the fighter specifications. 1. Refueling is crucial. 'Not a euro to look pretty. All for efficiency and safety.' 2. The focus on a low profile general concept, led to make out a big thing that don't realy need to be in. 3. Since the end of this fixed snorkel is far ahead of the cockpit, refueling is faster and easier. At the end of the day, the probability that a refueling situation turn on a disaster is simply the lower you can find on the market.

Real-life Meteor is pretty insane from what little is known about it. It operates with a ram-jet rather than a rocket motor, which iirc is a first on air-to-air missiles. That allows it to stay fast for much longer, allowing it lots of extra range compared to an AMRAAM (at least on paper). Its countermeasure resistance will be good given the combined skills of the designing firms. A really rare example of a pan-European project that went smooth(-ish) and produced a top-of-the-line weapon. With most European fighters adopting or already equipped with AESA radars, it's a huge step-up in defense capacity. If only the European 5th gen fighter initiatives hadn't gone so poorly, we might have had one ready to carry it.
Allegedly the IRL missle these days has AI-vision in the countermeasure resistance, trained on a huge amount of data and sensor-inputs and taught what is and isn't a countermeasure input. Similar to R&D on IR seekers lately. TLDR, if you're on the receiving end of one you're basically gone.
Make your own research real pilots do the same...you always need to dodge missiles or enemy détection by using the terrain to cancel your flight he is not an infantry flying man

That looks interesting- the Rafale's Meteors are similar ot the other ones we see from like the eurofighter mod, right? really surprised longshot didnt use a long range Fox 2, so he NEVER gets a warning and just gets ganked as his 'warning'
I don't know squat about military aircraft and munitions like you do or probably a lot of your sub's do, but what I do know is that those Meteor's are absolutely terrifying. The amount of times I've seen them reacquire their targets.....just gives me the chills haha.
I can only imagine Tron's reaction to the first hypersonic fox 3.. and keep up with the external cuts man, especually the ones showing the terrain udnerneath zooming by, it really adds to the sense of speed!

I think Aviation tech powers will start researching a Fox3 missile which Leaps up high after crossing 75% distance to the target and then dive down onto the target to have better chance of hitting the target which tries to hide behind mountains after watching most DCS pilots doing the HIDE BEHIND THE MOUNTAIN thing 😃😄 Good Fight LS ✌🏻❤️
Why don’t modern fighter jets have radars capable of looking 90 degrees off center? You’d think with them being so close to that gimble range and how important it is to notch, that they’d have developed radars that can look perpendicular to the aircraft decades ago.
Bro - do something ridiculous, like the MiG-31 in a guns-only dogfight against something like the F-15E (the two seater) or some other flying cow. It'll be hilarious. 🙂 Or: the F-104 against something else that simply can't maneuver worth a damn.
Is it possible to shoot a fox 3 with no radar contact and only EO? That may be an inaccuracy in game. R-77 doesn’t have the ability to lock onto a heat source
I've been confused, did the Su-35 have canards? there are video games with the Su-35 with canards + I've for the longest time thought or had this impression the 35 had canards. But most of everything I've seen about this plane in recent time is without canards.
If I’m not mistaken, the Sukhoi fighter that have a cannard attached are Su-30MKI, Su-30MKM, Su-30SM, Su-33, Su-34, and some other Su-30’s type. But as far as I know until Su-35S type, there’s still no cannard attached in this Su-35 type. Hope it answers ✌
Starting to get up there in Sub's! Good for you cause I was one! Hey can you show us anything that could go on in Ukraine. First using the Jets they have now, then something with the Jet's they will hopefully finally be getting the F-16, maybe even the Gripen. Maybe taking out Anti-Air Defense of Russia that is in Ukraine. S-400 just taken down along with S-300 and any else you want. And maybe a mission on taking out the Kerch bridge seeing there is some key Air Defense in the southern part of Crimea. Can you make it far enough to get off Bombs that the old Jets have, and what the New Jets could do differently or better than what they have is basically the point a lot of us want to see. Well apart of my group anyways.... If and when you have time that be great. Also any air to air action specially with the F-16 against Russia's Airforce. Thanks!
While I think GS does have a bit more informative video, you definitely have him beat in the cinematography department (someone get this guy a 4090 though so he can max his settings).
In real life, the Rafale would have jammed the SU35 radar as it was shown in Egypt trial to be able to do so easily, and then killed the Su35 before it could acquire the Rafale, and of course the Rafale also has electro-optical system and longer range IR missiles

Check sourses. One article referred to the other article which referred to the third in which there was not a single Word about jamming and tests. The countries you mentioned wanted to buy russian jets but were threatened by the free liberal market, or, in other words, sanctions. Google CATSAA

SU-35S is just a beast it has not only a superb radar but a powerful OLS too!
So the chance of being obliterated by a meteor while hiking is low but never zero, one more reason for me to stay at home and play dcs
