I have a Parnis GMT similar to the one you showed but with a cream dial & arabic numerals (model 2992). The GMT hand works perfectly, it keeps time as well as any automatic I have & was £50 (ebay) delivered from China in 9 days. It's in constant rotation & I love it. Parnis are just beginning to do their own designs & I have one of those as well, know as Luxor 17 on the Parnis site it's a 43mm dress monster & I love that as well, also £50 in 9 days.
I just picked up a Torgoen T9 Redwing (black dial, red GMT hand, brushed stainless steel case, black leather strap). What a beauty. Swiss Ronda Quartz movement. Huge legible Arabic numbers. Highly accurate. I've removed the factory Torgoen leather strap (which is comfortable and high quality, but I'm going to use it on a Torgoen T5 that I'm restoring) and replaced it with a Black NATO strap that has two grey stripes and four bordering red stripes. The strap matches perfectly. The crystal is domed and distorts the dial when held horizontally at eye level, but I like that. THIS is a man's work watch.
That's an interesting idea! Not sure if I'll be able to put together a whole list of them, but off the top of my head, pilot's watches tend to be some of the most easily readable watches around. I did a video on those back in July and there were some good options there. There's also some easily readable field watches featured in the May list. The Timex Easy Reader also comes to mind as a good option in the budget category.
Fantastic list of affordable GMT watches!!! I really enjoy the various GMT & world time I watches I have in my collection. And s you stated.....the Citizen Nighthawk is one of the best all around watches to have in a collection. I look forward to your square watch video, as I have been wanting to add a square watch to my collection, but just haven't pulled the trigger on a specific one just yet. I'll wait and see what beauties you present!!! Thanks for sharing and have a good one!!!
Great selection in this vid, as usual...I always look forward to watching. I have owned the Vostok Komandierskie and wear it very often. Definitely deserves to make the list: it is accurate and (despite everything people say about the Vostok bands) the bracelet is actually very comfortable. Looking forward to your next video...keep it up!
I have 4 GMT watches that I was able to buy for under $200. A Timex Flyback Chronograph IQ (TW2P60600 - $131.98), a Timex 3GMT IQ (T2P424 - $149.95), a Citizen Promaster GMT (BJ7080-53E - 175.00) with the same B877 movement as the Nighthawk and a Seiko Kinetic GMT (SUN037 - $175.00). The Promaster is a larger, rugged duty watch like a diver. The Seiko is more of a dress watch with a traditional GMT movement (1st crown position only moves the hour hand, no quick set date). The Timex watches are good all-around choices. My favorite GMT is my Orient Star, but that is way out of this price range. I have other watches that I would classify as World Time, instead of GMT.
The aeromatic A1387 would be another good budget candidate. More of an A-dial flieger with a 21 jewel automatic movement, 4th 24 hour hand and a massively domed crystal. Got one of these myself for €80 on amazon. Fun one to look at!
Thanks Dave, a thorough list. I knew you would have that Nighthawk on there! Why not do a vid showing Nighthawk alternatives? Particularly since it is so big.
GMT is my favorite complication. Wenger and Victorinox both have some nice GMT watches for reasonable prices and both companies make quality watches (as well as pocket knives being the two suppliers of legit folding knives to the Swiss military).
Hey Dave, Kudos for that Parnis GMT selection!!! It is really a very good looking watch. Though, I'm a bit disappointed most GMT watches are really on the bigger size... My choice and recommendation is the Vostok Amphibia Neptune GMT; a nice mechanical automatic watch with either white or black dial and pepsi bezel in 39mm. It comes around 105 USD at the meranom webpage and can be found a little cheaper on eBay.
Glad I stumbled upon your channel. Thank you thank you for talking about and showcasing budget-friendly watches. I love watches, but I'm also a husband and father of 3. 😅 Budget-friendly is key
I have a different version of that Wenger. I got it at Costco about 3 years ago so I think the old model/dead battery theory is probably right. I like the watch except it has a bad steel bracelet. Don't pay extra for the bracelet.
Not yet, I really need to get my hands on a Vostok just to try it out, just haven't had time yet, I have four or five other watches already lined up to review.
Check out my latest video about JDM watches, one of the ones in the list is a Citizen GMT with a world time bezel that I really like. Doesn't have a cyclops though.
I want to finish one year at these price points but after that I think I'll pick new ones. I chose those to be similar to other popular watch subscription boxes as that was the inspiration for this segment.
i mostly dont like GMT design or Vostok watches but this GMT from Vostok somehow looks appealing to me ! strange.... probably the manly looking bracelet and the more thicker width / manly GMT bezel ...???maybe
A recommendation for square watch is seiko SUP880/SUP250 (men/women). I think they look to be the most tastefully done out of all Seiko square solar watches. Also, I think the sasqwatch is very well done for a fashion watch (sasqwatchco.com).
I just came here to recommend the SUP880. I use it when I wear a suit (not too often), and I love how thin it is. And because it's solar, it's always ready to go.
LOL I'm so triggered by the greatest advantage and negative Vostok comment even though it's true. The best GMT watch under $200 is the Hyakuichi 101 hyaku1-03-WH IMO, I'm wearing mine since Saturday. If the Miyota was Eco-Drive it'd be the best value of 2019.
Still a brilliant concept for a series. Seen a few I didn't know about. Thanks for the shoutout. As for square watches.... thats a tough one. I've been looking at the Horizon chronos, but those are over. emgwatches.com/collections/horizon-chronograph Otherwise all I can think of are some of the Seiko 5 Recrafts www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNKN37-Stainless-Automatic-Self-Wind/dp/B00RZCX1H0 or of course the g-shocks.
Another name for a "square" watch would be tonneau. I own a S. Coifman model # SC0090 square watch. It's a very good looking watch and is priced between $80 - $160 on various watch websites. Check it out!
Just the Watch awesome. I’m new to the watch collecting passion. I especially like your channel. It’s kind of intimidating when you see watches that cost what most cars cost, but your stuff is down to earth. Very affordable.
The Seiko looks like a great deal, like anything deal with a good seller, even more so if they're an AD, this hold true with Citizen, sometime is only a few bucks more. And I am a big fan of Long Island Watch, And he is ab AD for Citizen Seiko and Orient etal, Git Ny Seagull 63 with sapphire crystal from him. Nice to know if there's a problem, it's a simple email to him or to one of the brands for service,
My suggestions for squarish watches: A rectangular Seiko I've been thinking of buying and that I think looks classic, classy and beautiful: www.jomashop.com/seiko-mens-watch-sup896.html Another one, this one from Citizen, which I think looks classic: www.creationwatches.com/products/citizen-74/citizen-quartz-bh3000-09a-analog-mens-watch-15463.html
Here’s one for next month. Also slides into the Homage category with a bonus nod towards the Chrono category. www.orvis.com/p/orvis-sq-chronograph/2ncc
Love my invicta watches have two that look like Rolex submariner both 24 jewel and beautiful 18k plated alway get comments on how people thi k it's a Rolex

You have no idea how long I’ve waited for this video
Ha! Hope you weren't disappointed after all that!

THIS is a man's work watch.
Another upvote for the Torgoen T9. Good fit and finish, good quality leather band, very clear and bold dial and hands. Superb value.
I own the Pagani GMT Pepsi and it is fantastic. It has become my everyday watch.
I have an Invicta - surprisingly good finishing.
As a visually impaired watch enthusiast: Can you make easily readable/accessible watches a topic for another month?
That's an interesting idea! Not sure if I'll be able to put together a whole list of them, but off the top of my head, pilot's watches tend to be some of the most easily readable watches around. I did a video on those back in July and there were some good options there. Thanks! I will see whether I get my wings on one of these IRL to test!

If u want square watch, it must be gshock dw56 without a doubt

Interesting vid. Parnis offers quite a bit for the moolah.
Thanks Dave, a thorough list. I knew you would have that Nighthawk on there! Why not do a vid showing Nighthawk alternatives? Particularly since it is so big.
That's not a bad idea. I'll have to put some thought into that one.
It is interesting to see the introduction of Parnis watches. Really interesting.
Thanks a lot. Not big enough wrist for nighthawk or red star. Gracias
GMT is my favorite complication. Wenger and Victorinox both have some nice GMT watches for reasonable prices and both companies make quality watches (as well as pocket knives being the two suppliers of legit folding knives to the Swiss military).
Love these monthly videos. Maybe a gshock square in the mix for next month?
Eventually I'll be doing digital watches as a category, so I might save the Gshock for that one...
Hey Dave, Kudos for that Parnis GMT selection!!! It is really a very good looking watch. Though, I'm a bit disappointed most GMT watches are really on the bigger size... Zeppelin count also great for $175 on amazon.
Great selection, thank you. I second the Citizen Nighthawk... it checks so many boxes.
Square recommendation: Casio Edifice EFA120D-1AV Ana-Digi $50
I have a different version of that Wenger. I got it at Costco about 3 years ago so I think the old model/dead battery theory is probably right. I like the watch except it has a bad steel bracelet. Don't pay extra for the bracelet.
Have you had hands-on experience with all of these watches yourself? Or where did you get your info from?
Love the Casio MTP1235D-1A for a square-ish watch
Nice Video loving that Seiko!
I am unsure if that Parnis is a homage as well... it looks okay
Would not wear a Vostok even if it was free. 'Quirky' is an understatement.
Thanks that was a great review of these watches! Cheers
Thnx for sharing Dave .Have you checked out the Vostok Kommandirkskie GMT yet ?
Not yet, I really need to get my hands on a Vostok just to try it out, just haven't had time yet, I have four or five other watches already lined up to review.
@@JusttheWatch Watch out those Vostok can be addictive. I found myself shopping a third one.
As someone who's constantly interviewing people (Dave included), I need that Timex in my life. Any idea where you can find it?
....and yes, Dave, I'm @horologerie.
Hi there, I'm looking for an affordable GMT with world time bezel and if possible a cyclops date magnifier, any ideas?
Thanks.
Check out my latest video about JDM watches, one of the ones in the list is a Citizen GMT with a world time bezel that I really like. Doesn't have a cyclops though.
@@JusttheWatch cheers, will do. I wonder how easy it would be to get one modded with a cyclops 🤔
The red star is really cool. Nice budget collection
Can't wait for your next video!!!
I’m wondering if you might consider changing your price points to: below $200 and below $100?
I want to finish one year at these price points but after that I think I'll pick new ones. I chose those to be similar to other popular watch subscription boxes as that was the inspiration for this segment.
Under 60 you really have to go digital, any Casio World Time will do.
@UCUM7_uS_QcUb5gHT_1rMh0w I agree, but if you want multiple timezones at that price you need compromises.
I bet sup880 or 896 will be on honorable mention
i mostly dont like GMT design or Vostok watches but this GMT from Vostok somehow looks appealing to me ! strange.... probably the manly looking bracelet and the more thicker width / manly GMT bezel ...???maybe
"Just the Starking"

I wanted to put that one on here, but I couldn't find a good US based source for it. It's pretty easily available here in Japan though.
The Parnis does look good, have heaed mixed reviews on them
I have one of the Daytonas. Just replace the bracelet and it's awesome.
Still a brilliant concept for a series. Seen a few I didn't know about. Thanks for the shoutout.

Yeah I really wanted to say that word but I sort of panicked because I've only seen it written and have no idea how to pronounce it.
Just the starking
Citizen night hawk is the best value and best to get .
Harley Davidson 76A150 Men's Automatic Wristwatch
I like the concept of this video, but I’d expand it to $250. There seems to be a LOT of watches that are in the $200-250 range.
My current plan is to look at higher price ranges next year.
Just the Watch awesome. I’m new to the watch collecting passion. I especially like your channel. It’s kind of intimidating when you see watches that cost what most cars cost, but your stuff is down to earth. Very affordable.
hope you won’t mind i gave you three suggestions for taking a look😅

Just looked it up again - The Graf Zeppelin LZ127 model for $161. Bit of a steal if u ask me. Just pulled the trigger.
Zeppelin makes some pretty classy watches!
My suggestions for squarish watches:
A rectangular Seiko I've been thinking of buying and that I think looks classic, classy and beautiful:
www.jomashop.com/seiko-mens-watch-sup896.html
Another one, this one from Citizen, which I think looks classic:

Love my invicta watches have two that look like Rolex submariner both 24 jewel and beautiful 18k plated alway get comments on how people thi k it's a Rolex
isn't that funny, how that works. A copy of a Rolex, tends to look like a Rolex to other people, yet you know it's some Wish version of it.
