Absolutely great video! And I for one dig the music 👍
Outstanding attention to detail. The music is good with me man. Drown out the tinnitus.
They all were very nice. I especially liked the stained version
Thanks for sharing
You’re welcome 😊
Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing
Greetings from the UK 🇬🇧 I've seen people on RUclips making flat flags which are very good but your wavy flags look fantastic you are a very talented man,I've just subscribed and clicked the Bell keep up the good work.
Very impressed with the creative skill demonstrated.
Thank You
Very nice, I prefer miter rather than but joints.
Good Job 😊
Nice work!!!
Love it totally awesome
Thanks!!
Great video. I glued the union upside down on my first wooden flag. It stayed that way for 2 days until I caught it. I was able to cut it out carefully and re-glued it. Interestingly, when I mocked it up before applying the glue. The union was actually correct. Still not sure how I glued it wrong. Live and learn!
Thanks for sharing, that's a good one
Cool video man. Neat to hear about the process! I like the music selection too
Thanks Man
Great video.
Great detailed video. Also liked the Mike McGill sticker on your workbench
Thanks on both accounts. Some nostalgia from my youth.
Nice work. Nice video. The music is very loud and annoying. I have to reduce volume during music but then can hardly hear you speak. Thank you for sharing your good work!
VERY NICE WORK!
Thank you!
Don't usually comment on video's but I have to make an exception, your work is beautiful and I really enjoy watching them, would love to talk shop with you one day, thanks

Well done. What disc did you use to rough in the contours?
Another good video Sean! What would I change? Ensure the volume of background music doesn't "runover" the volume of your voice as you explain or comment on certain aspects. (Ex: @ 14:45-14:55) And/or include closed captioning for those of us who need that assist in hearing what good info you are giving us. Keep up the great work amigo!
Thank you, I will definitely try to make some adjustments. And look into CC
I really like it
Thanks
Freaking Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You sand fast. Great video.
Live to sand
beautiful.....
Thank you
Hey man I make flags and you do a really good job
Thank you!
I was interested in the grinding wheels and sanding disc you use. Great work
Yes, me too
Ditto....
Beautiful work!!! Where did you get the customized wood burner/branding? I would like to add a permanent stencil to my work. Thanks for sharing your incredible talent!!
Thank you, I have a buddy who has a cnc and made it for me.
Hi Sean. Good job on those flags, they look amazing. I am a flag maker myself. I was wondering what you use for the alcohol stain you did on the one flag?
Thanks. That is Alcohol ink and whats nice about that is it dries super fast.
Great work but unfortunately on one of the flags on the union you can still see the red stripes underneath the blue paint looks like you just need to add maybe another coat or so to keep that from showing through.
Subbed awesome!
Thank you It means alot
Craziest thing we managed to do on a wooden wavy flag was grab a can of red spray paint that was next to a can of clear, and put a red swath right down the middle. Repaired after resanding and repainting.
I have done that with white that I accidentally put the wrong color cap back on
They look great! How long does it take to make the wavy flags?
Thanks, about a week. A day to process the wood and carve. Couple days for paint and assembly. Then finish details.
Do you think this method is quicker and/or easier than glueing, then carving, sanding and masking for stain? Or some other advantage? Getting ideas on trying to make my own. Thanks for the video. Cheers!
For me.. it gives superior crisp paint lines. It's "challenging" to keep the stripes width consistant when taping and painting plus contending with paint bleed
How about incorporating the standard gold into the framework? PS. Music's annoying but the videos great. Thanks.
Tap in a unity blade as a stain color divider instead of using tape.
One of the mistakes I've made.
I was hand carving my stars and gouged the last star Beyond repair. Lesson learned I make my Union's first before anything else
Has anyone made the frame have the same contour as the waves in the flag, but just a 1/2 or 1/4 inch proud?
What size is this flag? Great work!!
do you need dry lumber to do the flag ?
I would absolutely say yes
I never heard what the final cut down size was? And also what is the size of the union? Nice job.
The small flags are cut to 18.5 wide x 9.75 tall
@@seansrusticdesigns8640 thanks your work is super awesome
Thanks i appreciate it.
Customer sent me plans to build a chest of drawers but the problem was she didn’t tell me I had to put them together in the room. It was for kids Secret room that the opening was 30 inches by 30 inches. Chest was 36x48.
Funny how that wasn’t important enough to bring up! I haven’t had that kind of issue in my woodworking projects, but as a data analyst/developer/Jack of all IT trades at a smallish medical company, I’ve had my share.
How are you making the Union stencil?
I have a 36" vinyl cutter
where can i get the union stencil?
send me an email seansrusticdesigns@gmail.com
What is the final length of your flags?
Worst mistake...recently....had perfect paint laid down on a pinewood derby car...got impatient....tried to cure it with a heat gun and bubbled the shit out of it. Looked like chewing gum. 😂
Thats why I have an old hair dryer in the garage
Where do you get the stickers for the stars ?
I make them and I also sell them
@@seansrusticdesigns8640 what do you sell them for each or for a package of them
The smaller size are 12.00 and they are flat white. But if you are doing it like I did in the vid then color really is not an issue
@@tonystewart6203 I usually just sell them as singles
I like the flags but you music choice is lacking.
Mesmerizing. I'll probably try this and then have a comment on the worst mistake made... guaranteed I'll fubar this. But it'll be fun.
Give it a go, you can always sand more
WHY Do you play the background nose so LOUD!!!!!
You should try to make a music video instead of woodworking videos.
I don't know if that's a compliment or not. But Thanks?

Good video music pretty much sucks....annoying!
