Spent the last few years being inspired by Tom and Impact Theory while chasing down my dream of working with professional athletes. Revisiting this video as I am currently working on Olympic prep work for Shaun himself. Never give up!
I read a comment on the Tim Ferris video that complained about you not letting the guest elaborate but I feel like you ask the questions I'm thinking in my head as i'm thinking them. i want the path to be articulated in a way that I can hold it too so thank you for that Tom. Just like Moran Cerf said, its really about creating an accurate language for what we are experiencing. That's how you get ppl on the same wave-length
Tom! I just love the way you spontaneously go to side tracks (considering questions) and just go exactly where the value is! gold in your dome :) keep it up dude!
What a life learner. It seems he has mastered how to handle all the pressure that comes along with so many competitions. Accomplished so much and still humble. I have to say the guy has beautiful hair.
Love what Shaun said in the first 5 minutes when Tom asked him a sort of "how do you do it" question. Shaun said "I do what is hard until it is not hard any longer"!!
I was completly unaware of this man's existence. The way he tells his story though, just shows that even when your instincts guide you in the right direction, you still need to put a lot of hard work into it! Great guy! Great episode!
Sean White is a sweetheart, watch his video on Facebook of him responding to fans reactions when he won this year, the most awesome thing I’ve seen, so humble!
I learnt much more in impact theory than in my undergrad school. You may not know this, but Tom, you're revolutionizing a whole generation of people who are Kickstarting their lives and careers to a whole new level. I religiously follow impact theory and now health theory, and I gained a lot of insightful working applicable applications that I applied to my live. Thank you very much, comrade.
Love this episode so much. Shaun really shows people it is possible for you to be so good at something if you keep doing it with your effort. It is amazing how Tom ask questions that guided him through his steps to be taken to be so great at what he believes he would be. And the notion of there's always win or learn, there is no losing. Thank you for this interview Tom and Shaun, definitely worth watching.
Thank you for sharing another inspiring talk! I have a growing appreciation for what we can accomplish with visualization and persistence. Shaun is one of my heroes.
Tom Bilyeu hello sir I am from India big fan of your show please call Sandeep Maheshwari on the show this would largely help you to tap the indian audience
Thanks Tom This is a great video! I have watched / listened to many of your interviews when traveling . You are helping me to become my best version. Peace b
So how many cars does he now own? and how many have written on them "I am Shaun White, Bitches" !! Loved his goal setting strategy, and the approach of making the daunting ambitions less scary or even fun! Had never seen an interview of him that enabled a glimpse behind the facade and persona he portrays in sports Great to see that he does things out of pure passion and competitiveness, not as the media has often framed it - money and fame. What I found utterly fascinating was how he applies his strong mindset and values to all other aspects of his life (e.g playing the Guitar) and how determined he seams to have been from young age. It would have been interesting to hear what role his parents played, and their influence on his willpower and workerhic. I doubt that many parents just tour with their son in a van, after he has had these surgeries, and all that for a sport that at the time was considered a seasonal hobby. Regardless, he seams to be the real deal, the embodiment of tenacious grid and true success habits. Chapeau to the Legend! p.s Tom, thanks for this amazing episode! Why don't you extend the episodes 5-10 minutes? You brilliantly hook in all your guests, but it feels as if you let them go when they just caught fire and are about to pour out their real secrets to success. Maybe he would have had some advice for you on how to deal with the cold ... 😜 Most likely its just me who can't get enough of IT. So thanks for that awesome episode, again. Stay legendary!! Greetings from Greece
Tom,I dont know if this will ever reach ur sight, but it's not anyone else who changed me.It was you that showed the way.One day I wish by the age of 30(im 26 nw)I will be one of them sitting beside you and talking with u.Stay blessed.
Great episode. I did not know Shaun had his hands in that many other ventures. Pretty awesome. I’d really like to see a round table discussion with you 2 plus Jason Silva & Steven Kotler about flow. I think that would be pretty bad ass convo! It would be like a scene from Star Wars where the Jedi's hang out talking about how they kick ass using the force!
Such a powerful message there! It may seem obvious but when you hear it from someone like SW it makes so much sense - its about hard work and not giving up until you make it and then do it again..
Great interview Tom! I compete in profesional cycling and there is definitely as lot of very good takeaways for any athlete out there from this! Thanks for the golden nuggets!!!
I really enjoyed listening to and watching this interview with Shaun White. Tim Bilyeu I see a lot of similarities in your style compared to mine, and want to thank you for putting in the work to design and build this webcast. I've began practicing my own webcast last May when I started the TREP Show and had to put it on hiatus because of my health problems. Still not giving up and just started podcasting the TREP Show last month with a good friend. I think people are rewarded in public for what they spend years practicing in private. You've definitely created a work of art with this webcast and I look forward to more. Whether our view is ... "Less is more." - Mies van dear Rohe or "Yes is more!" + Bjark Ingles it's really about focusing on your ideas and articulating them well for more people to understand. Thank you, thank you.
18:40 He didn't win the game but he was rewarding and made gains in his internal game. He gained realizations regarding the fine tuning of his skills and mastering his sport, therefore personal developments overall. That's progress, progress is wining. Always wining in your own internal game and efforts can be a conscious choice or more importantly, inevitability. Be mindful of your intentions and direction, or don't. Being mindful is like making a mental journal and log of your progress and developments for future reference. Or you can be totally consumed with winging it. The more practice and experience you have, the more sophisticated, feasible and elaborate your planning and visioneering will be. The less knowledge and experience you have, the more mindful you need to be, and the more key and necessary it is to be mindful. Think of being mindful as connecting the dots (figuring it out as you go) and eventually your future vision becomes more and more manifested. Life will reveal clues and enlighten your path as you step forward and keep your head up high, because you never know what glimmer of hope you might miss. When your out look has you looking down, and your head is hung low, feeling sorry for yourself, how can you experience the excitement of your journey. You must be a (being) positively reinforced person. Do not deny yourself the very best of yourself. There will always be challenges unmet, we must evolve our abilities to meet the challenge in due time. During any process or mission, make it a point to stay and reflect in the upside of things. Choose to and persist forward for the promise and glory of living for your dreams.
Tom, are you writing a book on all those you've interviewed and accessing if their advice is practical? Are you able to measure the success with the application of the advice and techniques given during your interviews?
Tom, why did you stop posting on Inside Quest ? ... I had to search long & hard to find your new channel, lol. I'm glad I'm here though. I enjoy your interviews. (Please answer my question above)
This show is amazing as usual as well as this guy. Touch my mind, feeling proud of not having share the $50,000 for the price in Japan illustrates the selfish egocentric pradeep system of pure competition with others in the United States. Sharing the money with the other competitors would have demonstrated more profound values of togetherness. She is with the bunch of other sports athletes shoe call sharing the same experience Kamal why not share the prize?
Thank you Tom and Shaun. These stories made me rethink my screwed up relationship with competition. That's a lot of potential being released! And Tom, amazing to learn that like me, you, too, had a fixed mindset as a kid. But look where you're now. Inspiring example.
Great guy, great opportunist made him a gunner from young along with his parents support. I like how his parents saw the talent an allowed him to flourish along with fueling his drive to make him an early success. He really showed how important a parents role can be and how not to waste opportunities when they present themselves, caused he could have played the ass if he wanted.
i failed exam after studying for 3 month tirelessly and on the day of the exam i couldn't even read the question bc i was so exhausted. i failed bc i was scared of that paper and i told my self in advance i was going to fell... negative though equals to negative result.
Is it hard to interview people who don't really know how they become successful? Like this interview with Shaun White is so different because he talks on a different level than say Mel or Moran. Not any less important just different. Like he says he "just does it".
I love the variety of explanations. There's no one path to heaven as they say. Shaun was a very easy interview. He's super sharp and very easy going. And trust me, there have been people in the past that were like pulling teeth because they really didn't understand for themselves how they had done what they'd done.
He is Shaun Whites bitches lol. No fr though. Gosh he’s amazingly person and in-person. He’s way cool and inspiring. Me and kiddos are big fans of him! ❤️🙌🏼
Spent the last few years being inspired by Tom and Impact Theory while chasing down my dream of working with professional athletes. Revisiting this video as I am currently working on Olympic prep work for Shaun himself. Never give up!
"Do what's hard, until It's not hard anymore"
Yup. I loved that answer!
Great quote......it's up on my wall....love it!
yeah but do what is right until you cannot get it wrong, should perhaps be the addition to that
works for sex and boners.
Dont have to watch this vid, say no more.
Tom is a great interviewer. He really listens without interrupting and the interview just flows...
Thank you!
I read a comment on the Tim Ferris video that complained about you not letting the guest elaborate but I feel like you ask the questions I'm thinking in my head as i'm thinking them. i want the path to be articulated in a way that I can hold it too so thank you for that Tom. Exactly 1 year after this video was posted, he won another Olympic Gold !
"I did the things that people said couldn't be done"
I loved it ^_^
Tom! I just love the way you spontaneously go to side tracks (considering questions) and just go exactly where the value is! gold in your dome :)
keep it up dude!
Thanks, Roy! That's always the most fun. Go wherever the interview wants to go rather than having set questions that I'm just working my way down.
down and up at the same time
32:34 Tom you are a gem! This moment shows how considerate you are and understand situations really quick thus acting on it instantly.
What a life learner. It seems he has mastered how to handle all the pressure that comes along with so many competitions. Accomplished so much and still humble. I have to say the guy has beautiful hair.
One of the most powerful and valuable interviews I have ever watched. Amazing
That's awesome to hear! So glad you liked it!!!
Love what Shaun said in the first 5 minutes when Tom asked him a sort of "how do you do it" question. Shaun said "I do what is hard until it is not hard any longer"!!
I am so grateful for this show and I hope that more and more people find their way to this!
I agree! Great to have a environment created of like minded people who and discuss this kinda stuff
Thank you, Ali! I'm just glad you found us!
You know what's funny, Joe? Until now, I never knew your real last name. Haha!
hahaha. I'm gonna start putting in an application to legally change it to "Bag A Donuts'

Great and Inspiring episode 😁👍👍👏👏👏👏👏 I just summarize what I learn: Imposible is just a Word 👍
Great summary!
