The "weird" boarding process is brilliant for an LCC. Boarding is much faster. It's using what's called in psychology The Stadium Effect. The first say 40-50% of people, when left to their own devices, enter and fan out quickly and efficiently throughout the plane and the remainder just as efficiently fill up the remaining seats because there is little choice.
Gamer With Wolf rizky My boy, have you watched Felix's Trip report? He clearly took a shot of a Norwegian before boarding and it clearly looks like a Level Livery and Felix and David says Level A330
Happy you enjoyed the Southwest experience David. They are one of my favorite carriers doing a great job here in the USA. They are always consistent and have great customer service and i am fan all the way.
I absolutely love Southwest! They’re better than just about every non-budget airline I’ve flown in the US. First off, two, free checked bags!? Amazing! And even more to their credit: I had to cancel a flight last weekend one HOUR before the flight took off and I was able to get a full refund (as credit for when I rebook), and there was no fee or charge for rebooking. Amazing customer service!
Southwest looks so good for a North American airliner, if I ever had the chance to be in the states, I would love to fly on them. Pretzels, peanut and a drink on a 1h15 flight, sign me the hell up
this video really helped my anxiety omg.. i'm flying by myself next month for the first time :') i'm flying from oakland to las vegas for a concert sooo thank you sm for this :')
I love Southwest Airlines! One of the best airlines in the U.S.A. I fly on it every year to visit my family, ever Sense kingarden, and now im in the 7th grade taking on 8th grade. Anyways, i love your vids! :D and glad to see you enjoy my favorite airline! ah, memory's of feeling nerves on the plane and getting like 20 of those small snacks and eating them as soon as i get into my dads house and looking out the window almost every year. looking forward to that again this year! :D
Yeah I’m glad about the public transit system in Metro Vancouver. The Canada Line goes all the way to YVR Airport. It was originally built to transport athletes and fans during the 2010 Olympics, but it’s still in service today
I am flying to Oakland from Santa Barbara and back this summer on Southwest! I usually flew into SFO when I lived in Palo Alto near Stanford. Sometimes out of SJC. I am flying alone too for the first time not as a U.M. so I can't wait!
I was in Southwest's last flight with peanuts. We made a celebration and the steward told everyone aboard the plane to turn on the lights. Did you took cinnamon plane cookies. I love dem. By the way my uncle works ... oh I arrived the gate just near yours. The C2. I said that my uncle works at southwest in TPA.
The legroom is even better on Southwest's new 737 MAX fleet, in addition to its newly-redesigned interior with boarding music, mood lighting and new seats that hold magazines and flyers on top. They are also currently porting the new cabin to its existing fleet.
David Syper Yes, I agree with you too. They also had better customer service than some traditional carrier without dragging somebody one out of the plane...
In my opinion, I think the only best traditional airline in the U.S. is Delta, as it is more favored by the Americans. Well, if you know what I mean, they just beat Alaska Airlines to the 2nd.
As far as I'm concerned Southwest is the best domestic US airline PERIOD..Not only do they NOT "nickel & dime" you like so many other "low-cost" airlines, but also have some SERIOUSLY low fares.. EVEN, dare I say, CRAZY low fares.. For example: I flew Southwest from Las Vegas to Chicago Midway on Oct 31, 2017. Wait till I tell you what I paid... THIRTY-FIVE DOLLARS!! (one way.. I was taking Amtrak back) The last two flights on 10/31 to Chicago had as their "get-away" fare listed as $35! The first one, when I tried to grab it, showed it was booked up, the second flight, leaving LAS at 7:55pm and arriving MDW at 1:00am was NOT.. After I picked my jaw up off the floor, I paid my $$$, got my confirmation number. A couple of days later, I checked the same day/same flight/same fare type and it was now $108...
I used to live in Las Vegas, this brings back memories. Southwest and Alaska are the primary airlines. American I avoided from Vegas as I often had to transfer in Phoenix. Dont. American likes to overbook and not compensate you if you dont get to your destination. The cool thing about McCarran are the commuter flights for Area 51 and NSA that go through there. Be on the lookout for the white with a red stripe 737-200 planes. Those are some of the Janet Airway planes. Las Vegas is technically all military controlled air space so your flight will only fly a prescribed a certain pattern. If it strays, you may see a F16 or F15 come by your wing. Las Vegas only LOOKS normal.
For what it's worth, Southwest had a crew base at Oakland, which partly explains why they have Terminal 2 to themselves. It's similar to how other WN "fortress hubs" (or airports where they're the dominant carrier) operate, including Baltimore (KBWI) (WN has Terminals A and B, plus most of C) and St. Louis (KSTL), where they have all of Terminal 2 (though, WOW Air will begin utilizing one of the T2 gates at KSTL for their BIKF (Reykjavik-Keflavik) starting in May).
Southwest pioneered a lot of the business model the European low cost carriers emulated, such as a single class, operating one type of aircraft, serving secondary airports, and a point to point route structure. Of course, Ryanair and easyJet took it to a whole new level charging fees for everything. Ironically, Southwest is the only domestic airline in the United States that doesn't charge for checked luggage.
The thing about United is, I flew with them over/on Christmas and it wasn't as bad as expected, it was one of my better experiences with an American airline
I thought it was interesting that a 737-800 had a 737-700 safety card in the seat back pocket. I’ve seen it with some other airlines as well and it makes you wonder if the person who put the safety cards in even knows a thing about aviation. Love the videos guys. Great report!
Just a quick tip: in match, the new Embraer E-Jet 190 E2 will start flying between Bergen and Bodø (Norway), so if you want to make a trip report on a brand new plane, that might be something to consider :)
Seeing Mandalay Bay i the video really saddens me due to that fact my grandma was their when it happened but shes okay. But watching this video really cheered me up . Great video and you earned a sub.
Southwest is a major carrier in Ca. They have the same setup in Sacramento! It gets busy there, but they get everyone out. Not a fan of fight for your seat though
0:40 I would have done the same .. Anyway I'm looking forward to visit the US some day, expecially the southwestern areas such as SoCal , AZ , NV and NM
Good to see you get on SWA, David! I always fly Southwest when flying domestically! Yes they don't have the fancy Business Classes of Delta or AA, but free bags and minimal change fees (if any) are always worth it, in my eyes. (Plus having two focus cities near my neck of the woods doesn't hurt either!!)
Old Livery and Sky Interior?! Weird and rare combo. In any case, thanks a lot for the trip report today David. I really want to fly Southwest sometime soon!
David, you should know this: what happens in las Vegas, stays in las Vegas 😜 also, Southwest's boarding process maybe interesting but it's very convenient if you want to have a specific seat. Even if you got a mid to high B number you'll still get a perfect seat cause most As and early Bs choose to sit closer up in the plane. Also of you ask for a full can, they'll give it to you 😉
I used to dispise southwest for their unconventional boarding/seat selection process but as long as you check in right at t-24hours your pretty much guaranteed a window/isle seat. Also their route network anywhere in the sunbelt is quite impressive. Although Jetblue/Alaska may be better if you live in the northern parts of the country as far as route networks go.
I'm from the bay area and also fly southwest domestic a lot and have always had a great experience. also check out alaska airlines and jetblue, 2 other great low cost airlines in the us
I always enjoy flying on Southwest Airlines, this month I had 4 flights with them (including on the 737 MAX 8!) and I also thought the water cans were beer at first, haha. Great video! :D
TBH I hate BART with a passion (Im a SF Bay Area Local) And I wish that we had the system (Cleanliness, Noise levels, people, etc) Of cities like some European cities. But Amazing Trip report David! Southwest is my favorite Airline, so I'm glad you got to experience them!
Everything is bigger in America, even the legroom on our low cost airlines, as someone who only flies southwest, it’s good, glad you enjoyed
go try spirit airlines whit te tiny legroom i ever see in my life
Qwdydnoo
Joey Lebeau let’s not encourage that
Zander Sutton Leg room is huge when you go to Texas
Texas is still obsessed with big
Sprit legroon is umm
I'm glad you enjoyed Souithwest, it is easily the best airline for domestic flights in the USA. Another great trip report, per usual!
Simply Looking at the bag at the start of the video I could confirm that it's David who's doing the video. Nice job! Always impressed!
Gabriel John Juele hahaha same
Well it does say #ReportByDavid on the top corner
Gabriel John Juele

LAX Aviation well before it appears hahahahaha, the one in the top is just a confir, ation and the Suitcase is the sign huhu
This might be one of the best trip reports I’ve ever watched, what a fantastic video! The views are just stunning, really makes me wanna go flying
Same
That boarding process is just great in my opinion.. Way better than randomly assign seats..
Gonçalo Magalhães that’s why i love using Southwest Airlines.
Awesome! I have been looking forward to a Southwest trip report! Very well done and good work, David!!
this is possibly the most wholesome airline i've seen
pjm I think JetBlue might have them beat, but that’s my opinion :)
My parents are both pilots for Southwest
plant mentality ijjnbyygvv
@@gavinwise9832 Nice! I bet you traveled with them often.
I like their boarding system, even though you have the option of early bird. Early bird does give you better positions, but this is not guaranteed.
I’ve been waiting for this vid since nearly the start of 2017! Thank you so much!
Awesome video! Was looking fwd to this for a long time!
Finally! A Southwest trip report! I live in the US and LOVE Southeast! The free bags are one of the best things an airline can offer!
I’m sick right now and your tripreports cheer me up
Adam Haighton u
Me to 😠
I see Felix's Level A330 at 6:58 on the background, just near the Norwegian
Uhm, theres even no A330 near norwegian.
Gamer With Wolf rizky My boy, have you watched Felix's Trip report? He clearly took a shot of a Norwegian before boarding and it clearly looks like a Level Livery and Felix and David says Level A330
Avia Dream 03 you idiot it was taxiing behind the Norwegian
How would you found that
u said the n word... Norwegian :)
I'm pumped... I'm flying to DUS-LAS in March with BA and AA. Can't wait to loose all my Money. :P
TheSchniposa what class
I'm flying Eco... need the Money for the tables ;)
Happy you enjoyed the Southwest experience David. They are one of my favorite carriers doing a great job here in the USA. They are always consistent and have great customer service and i am fan all the way.
I loved when the kid said "it tickles" right after rotation at OAK
Yes lol
Fine I will love it
Lol
I feel it it does tickle eh 🇵🇪
Ein sehr schönes Video! Mehr davon! Die Küste und San Francisco sind echt wunderbar das auch sie im Video gezeigt haben! Echt geiler Tripreport!!
Nothing better than a simply aviation video at 9:45pm being bored and don’t know what to watch.
I absolutely love Southwest! They’re better than just about every non-budget airline I’ve flown in the US. First off, two, free checked bags!? Amazing! The only tripreporter I care about!!!!😄
Exactly!! David cares about me a lot but Felix doesn’t
Southwest looks so good for a North American airliner, if I ever had the chance to be in the states, I would love to fly on them. Pretzels, peanut and a drink on a 1h15 flight, sign me the hell up
香口膠 ggh. n. nn nnnn
Also, you get to check-in two bags for free.
They do a snack and drink service on any flight no matter the time
this video really helped my anxiety omg.. i'm flying by myself next month for the first time :') i'm flying from oakland to las vegas for a concert sooo thank you sm for this :')
Everything at Southwest is as efficient as possible, and you always know what to expect. I quite like flying with them.
You deserve more subscribers!!!!!! all amazing tripreports
Watching this from Nairobi, Kenya. I like Southwest Airlines.
This is my favorite episode because south west is my favorite airplane!
Perfect Trip Report! One of your best i would say! Keep up the excellent work!💖😀

Hey there i love your tripreports in fact i keep watching them over and over again and hope you get 100k subs soon :D
I think some low cost Carrier do a much better job than some traditional airlines...

Early squad! Truly a great video David and the whole group.
I flew Southwest from Midway and landed on that same runway and pulled into that same gate, also at that time of night

If you look below the -700, I think it also says -800 and MAX 8
Southwest is a great airline! I’ve made this OAK-LAS flight many times!
Awesome video man! I enjoyed it!
9:52 the city at night is so beautiful 👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
Just a quick tip: in match, the new Embraer E-Jet 190 E2 will start flying between Bergen and Bodø (Norway), so if you want to make a trip report on a brand new plane, that might be something to consider :)
The airline that will fly them is Wideroe (Widerøe)
So cool to see one of your tripreports after a very long day at university 👌
Seeing Mandalay Bay i the video really saddens me due to that fact my grandma was their when it happened but shes okay. But watching this video really cheered me up . Great video and you earned a sub.
Kate Martineau my cousin works there.
Love your thumbnail’s
Amazing video as always! Never thought Southwest was quite good.
0:38 United loves to play street fighter with passengers.. lmfao.
i flew southwest two days ago, and if I fly domestic, definitely fly southwest.
Awesome video! And I was early 😄
First like, then watch video Also I find it really interesting that all airports look similar with their own twist
Great job, I love Southwest! Great filming, you kept it very steady, on my last flight on a B737-800 for United, I had the same seat!
Southwest is a major carrier in Ca. They have the same setup in Sacramento! It gets busy there, but they get everyone out. Not a fan of fight for your seat though
Excellent Video, I love the way you show some of the cities and the airport in the report
0:40 I would have done the same .. Anyway I'm looking forward to visit the US some day, expecially the southwestern areas such as SoCal , AZ , NV and NM

once I was scared to be on a plane but when I saw ur vids I felt brave to fly airplanes. 😀😱😘
Thanks for America's view! Great report!
I love southwest, a very inexpensive way to fly, and they give great service!
David, you should know this: what happens in las Vegas, stays in las Vegas 😜 also, Southwest's boarding process maybe interesting but it's very convenient if you want to have a specific seat. Could You do one tripreport of JANET?
Haha, I'd love to but I'm 99.9% sure that'll never happen.
Great video like always David! :D :D When I flew with Southwest Airlines from San Francisco to Los Angeles, the top part of the seat was orange.
Carter Paulson what do you mean t-24 hours? Please explain. I plan on flying with them and I want a good seat!
I'm from the bay area and also fly southwest domestic a lot and have always had a great experience. also check out alaska airlines and jetblue, 2 other great low cost airlines in the us
Hey David once again you made an awesome Tripreport!
BTW I just got back from a Air Canada and a Air Do Flight!😉
Wow nice! :) Hope you enjoyed them both! ^^
I always enjoy flying on Southwest Airlines, this month I had 4 flights with them (including on the 737 MAX 8!) and I also thought the water cans were beer at first, haha. Great video! :D

The Aeromexico report is out. They flew the 787 from Amsterdam to Mexico City - and loved it!
Glad you caught one of the engine start ups on video! I hate watching trip reports and the start up is not recorded or edited out.
What a cool opening!!
I picked UA when doing up the westcoast upvoming spring due to price and star silver (eurobonus)
They may offer cash if the flight is overbooked.
You should do a trip report on Southwest Airlines international service to Aruba, or one of there longer domestic flights to Hawaii.
Yay im glad you took the BART to the airport :D
Really nice flight perfect for a short flight good job😍😍😍😍😊😊😊😊
Nice report! It appeared to be a very smooth landing!
Low cost eh?
Love the video anyways!
Keep up the work guys!
Gavin Ross those that complain about BART are always the locals. Like you and i
3:28 That’s Felix’s plane! 😂 Hope to see your video soon too
