Ok this is late, but I looked the second game (Need a packet?) up and it's about this cashier girl who's continuous work cycle is making her lose her mind. So each time you play through a day, it'll get more distorted, crazier, etc.
Yeah, did the same because of how surreal it looked. I wish he stuck through that one, really, since it might have ended up becoming a lot more interesting, but I guess he needs to churn games out for these compilation vids.

To be be brutally honest Mark's voice today still sounds the same as himself from 2014 or 2015.
Not even a minute in and Markiplier realizes that he had boobs, compliments himself, and then proceeds to hit on himself. This is the quality content that I keep coming back for. Keep up the good work Mark!

In the game “Need a Packet?” The horror won’t happen right away because it is a horror-simulator. Playing the game, the cashier *SLOWLY* starts to lose her mind. That’s why when you played the game, you got no result.

Concept for a game. So it calls itself a horror game, and you go though the entire game with no jumpscares, just lots of little things that build up the tension. Then the game ends and credits start rolling. BUT THEN, suddenly the screen goes black, then pops up using your camera a video of you playing the game with weird things happening/appearing behind you, or whispered conversations, then it cuts to a video of you right then with something behind you, and it whispers something creepy about always being there from now on and then the game crashes.
But like, it starts by asking your permission to use the camera, and the whole story line has to do with things appearing/being summoned from technology and cameras and stuff
_That_ would be cool. Tricky to pull off, but cool.

It actually makes me sad how harsh mark is on himself. I’ve been watching him for so many years now and I loved him at every stage but he’s so mean on his younger self. It’s nice to see how he has improved and how he has changed in a good way but it’s still sad how critical he is on every little bit.

I'm sure he doesn't mean it in a mean way, that's just what most people do, you grow up, change, and stop doing stuff you used to do, whether it was good or bad.
Looking back at stuff you used to do almost always has the same reaction on everyone, if it was a bad thing, like in this case, you're happy you stopped doing it and realize it was a bad thing.
Everyone's critical of their younger selves, we just think we're superior because we're older. It's just human nature.

I feel bad for RUclipsrs who are expected to never change. You change every year as you get older, that's just how it is. And almost all of the time, the person who changed looks back at themselves and cringes hard. It's life, and it's human. And people making dumb theories, obsessing over it, or criticizing it just confuse me. Because whether or not you're famous or a RUclipsr doesn't change the fact that you will change, because you're still a person. Have these people never changed themselves, or looked back at their young self and just cringed away? It's normal. He's a person, not a character. Respect that.
That's what happened to Pewdiepie. I followed him in his early-ish days, and he's so afraid of change, struggling so much to remain the same and doing the same things that led to his fame that he is no longer enjoying himself. And it shows to anyone more mature than the 12 year old boys that make up his main target demographic. I don't watch his videos anymore.
By dumb theories I assume you're talking about Darkiplier? Mark has already established multiple characters on his channel before, and it's obvious not many of them have been used in a while. The fact that MatPat even made a theory is a pretty safe bet that Mark is planning something. Mark's also been hinting at these old characters coming back in skits he's done in the last couple years. Having the twitch streams could be great smokescreen to hint at a returning alter ego, without just giving it away. There's no doubt that mark may dislike his older self in some ways, however it's hard to ignore some of the odd behavior he's exhibited, whether it's real or acted out.

You just saved me 30 more minutes of my life. I thank you, kind sir. I wasn't sure Mark was going to do...much of anything after the first two games.
Lot of comments saying they liked old Markiplier better. I can see what they mean, but at the same time Mark has clearly grown since then, and a lot has happened between then and now. I'm willing to bet a lot of people wouldn't have even took stock in the difference if it were not for this segment.
I don't mind his toned-down, snarkier self; I don't mind his loud, blood-pressure-'bout-to-pop-a-vein self. I just like him as a person and content-creator. That being said, sure he has some off-days, but that's just human. You do you, Markimoo.
In fact, might be interesting to see him react/commentate more often! xD :)
Yeah, regardless of his demeanour, he'll still always feel more genuine now and back then in comparison to 95%+ of YT creators. He feels a lot more like a friend sharing with us things he thinks is cool, and I can appreciate that a lot more than someone who fully intends to just do anything to get views. I adamantly avoid channels like Pewds or Jack, but have stuck by this channel since the first Five Nights videos because of those reasons.

I found it funny that he did the “ho ho ho hooo” laugh for the clown in the first game. Because when I saw the dolls and the clowns the FIRST thing I though of was Emily Wants to Play (a precious horror game Mark has played) and I thought of that laugh that Chuckles (the clown doll) makes in Emily Wants to Play. So yeah, I found it funny.

Recently I made my first actual video that had my voice in it and it sounded a LOT more different then what I thought it would sound like, so its kind of comforting to see Mark poke fun of his older videos and show off how he's grown and evolved over the years. That definitely gave me the confidence boost I needed in making my own stuff.
