    The only vid I found that teaches which way round to put the spring washers on 👍🏻

    Thanks for the demo.
    They may seem a bit loose when tightened but the centrifugal forces keep them straight when cutting.

    A lot of guys here use a left hand blade of a walker mower, left Blade so it's turning the proper way, it never wears out my mate has been running the same walker blade for three years, I wish Honda would put the hrx motor on all there mowers as it has a lot more power, cheers

    Hi mate,do any of you guys sharpen your mower blades or just replace them?With the build up of grass around the nuts I find a wire brush works better than a scraper and a serving spoon(Big one) because of its round profile works better than any square edged scraper to clean under the deck.I also use anti-seize on the nuts and blade boss.Good time to do maintenance for you guys with this rain.Im in Appin and am debating starting a part time mowing business in the mornings and on weekends as I have a full time afternoon shift job.Just not sure as I'm 44 now and there's so many guys doing it around the Macarthur/Campbelltown area.Love watching all your videos and the other guys like Ray's etc.Keep up the great work guys and I hope your channel grows like it does for the yanks doing it.

      We generally just replace these blades and sharpen the rideon blades....
      Go for it mate start up your lawn business even if it’s part time ...
      It’s a life style

    I’ve learnt my lesson, the thread wasn’t pushed all the way through into the mower plate and the nut supplied is a loctite nut and was really hard to come off and re position. I had to angle grind off the thread and use my old thread, gotta be the most stupidest mistake I’ve done. 10min job turned into a 45 min job 😢

    A shame you don't show how to remove the plate - mine is jammed and I need to know if it's a left hand or normal thread.

    • @MBMOWING
      @MBMOWING  4 года назад +3

      It’s a normal thread so unbolt it anticlockwise to remove the disc

    • @R2D2trashcan
      @R2D2trashcan 3 года назад +2

      Its definiteyl normal thread, try penetrating fluid, heat and a 750mm breaker bar. That did the trick for me but they can jam on very tight. I almost stripped the head and broke the bolt.

      Sounds like yours is seized on… may be a mechanics job to do.. wouldn’t want to snap the shaft

    I use the lower blade only as it catches wet grass better that way, we have plenty of the wet stuff in New Zealand lol

      That would be great to see mate.

    How much better is the performance by switching the low lift for the high lift blades?
    Does it make a noticeable difference when catching or mulching?

    • @MBMOWING
      @MBMOWING  4 года назад +2

      Yes there is a difference catching with the high lift blades. They really pack the bag quick too

  • @bazzamow7031
    @bazzamow7031 6 лет назад

    I use the M2 and a trying out using a bar blade as I find the swing back blades wear out to quickly, using blade from a hrx Honda found it catches a lot better and uses less engine power which is good as the hru is under powered

    • @MBMOWING
      @MBMOWING  6 лет назад

      Wow that’s a good idea. Are there 2 bar blades on top of each other?

    I need to know the best way to get the plate off I cannot get it off even with a socket

    • @MBMOWING
      @MBMOWING  4 года назад

      Have you tried jamming a block of timber in between one of the blade bolts and the deck? Then use a socket with a mallet

    • @MBMOWING
      @MBMOWING  4 года назад +1

      But before you do that, spray the hell out of the bolt with WD40

    • @benwolinski6813
      @benwolinski6813 3 года назад

      If the block of timber technique doesn't work, I remove the cover and pull rope assembly off the motor and hold the crankshaft still with a 19mm socket with extension.

    Hi there, according to the Honda Manual you are putting the curved spring washers on the wrong way around.

      Agreed :-)

    • @LeonMTan

      yep,the pressure washer should be used the other way.

      for the M1, the manual shows, going from the bottom: Bolt, blade, spring washer 'lips'(love that) facing blade, disk, blade washer, nut. So, it must be to give free motion in regard to the disk? Mine's a 216D, so I'll try it and see. Thanks for these vids, I appreciate all your (mostly correct) tips and all the comments, as a woman coming in 'green' so to speak. And loved hearing a bloke call a socket a wrench on another vid, who cares! Onya and thanks heaps.

    It's 190 cc has more low down power so it doesn't have to rev as high and does not bog down as easy, cheers
